To those who experience 1 star, it's because it wasn't the right one for you. In my experience, I've realized it wasn't the right one for me. So I kept looking and found what I was looking for to meet to my needs. Just because it doesn't work for you, it won't work for others. Just have to keep searching until you find what resonates with you.

Listened as an irate rather hostile elderly man vented to Kim at the front desk. She was warm, patient and kind to him. Called another location, explained his concerns and kept him informed of her progress. She was able to solve his problem. He was happy and told her a "Dad" joke on his way out. Impressive customer service. 👏

I went there from 2024 through 2025. NWP helped me in ways that I could not imagine before going there I was struggling with things that other people don't even want to begin to imagine. when I first got there it was a very rough experience until I met a staff named Grant. at first I did not connect very well with grant, but once I got to know him my stay there got much better. all the staff there were beyond amazing but grant was by far my favorite staff. not because he worked there but because he really understood where I came from. from my worst to my best moments he was there for me, even when did stupid things and he wasn't happy with me. I would like to thank all staff for working there who helped me move on with my life and put my past in the past. I had a very good experience there, the staff treated me better than I deserved and the others. I made some pretty good friends there that I will never forget. North West Passage will forever hold a spot in my heart. with everything I got thank you for everything you guys have done for me. It means more thank you think.

I've been to four VA clinics and tried non-VA clinics. This one has been my favorite. My primary Dr. and staff are helpful. I ended up here after a rough day (a.k.a. life). Ten beds, mostly residents recovering from alcohol or drug use. Rooms are spacious and clean. Food was decent, incredibly large portions. Staff was kind, caring, and genuine. The big guy who checked me in thanked me for being there. I don’t have family or friends, and that simple kindness meant more than he probably knew. I was no a fan of the psychiatrist. He seemed offended when I asked if he would coordinate with my regular psychiatrist about my meds. When I said I wasn’t sleeping, he said they do 15-minute checks and I was, which made me feel like my honesty was being questioned. My discharge notes didn’t reflect what I meant when answering questions about self-harm, and I left feeling unheard and invalidated.

I am finally giving this a review roughly 8 years after I left that 30 day transition program. Let’s be honest here, there was some rough moments while I was being assessed but that’s to be expected, why? Because everyone has different needs and working in that type of field, dealing with troubled kids, can be a difficult job. Here are my pros and cons. KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS REVIEW WAS FROM ROUGHLY 8 YEARS AGO. Cons: 1) I remembered a staff trimming her nails in the cafeteria while we were having breakfast and to me. It seems like some staff back in the day, worked there just for the convenience. 2) I was treated poorly by other patients in my group because they assumed false things about me. 3) The way they disciplined misbehaved kids was a bit cruel. After they restrained them, they would put them in a concrete room with pads full of (maybe memory foam). Each kid was told to sit on the pad (in the middle of the room) and calm down. There was a security camera in that room for safety, while there was a staff standing outside the room. There was a window high enough for the staff to peek into the room. I personally was in that room a few times and it felt horrible. The only positive thing that came out of that room was being on the other side, being with the group and feeling safe that the misbehaved kid wasn’t with our group for X amount of time. PRO: 1) I learned what essential oils were and how useful they are to help calm the mind. I remembered a nighttime staff going out of her way to find a specific essential oil for me that was in a different part of the building, so that I can smell it throughout the night and relax during a tough time. 2) I remembered friendly compititions, popsicle stick catapults, street hockey and other friendly compititions where the winner gets one free meal from subway 3) I learned that photography is a great coping skills as well as essential oils. 4) despite having some issues with some other patients, I got a long with other patients. 5) We went to the Burch Barn to do the corn maze 6) we also went to the ecomart to grab some marshmallow fluff 7) despite feeling like some staff are working there for the convenience, I feel like the majority of the staff there are working to help misbehave kids. 8) Staff are very observant and responsive towards misbehaved kids and things that might develop. Q) Why are you posting this review now and not years ago A) I am posting this review now because I feel like I have reached my peak at changing. I will admit, it has taken years to change my behavior and learn how to live my life with my new behavior. I am in college for photography and this year is my first year as a freelance photographer. I have reached so many milestones this year, I feel like I have changed who I was and became a better person, with help from Northwest Passage. I recommend this place to families with stuggling kids because even though I have had some negative experience at this place, I genuinely feel like they want to help those kids develop helpful skills as well as helping families too.

The nutritionist there is HORRIBLE. I personally am lactose intolerant and when I was admitted my liver was bad, so I needed a diet tailored to helping me recover. She told me if I can’t find anything to just eat from the salad bar. I stood my ground and she let the kitchen staff know I was lactose intolerant and couldn’t eat fried stuff but that is ridiculous I should not have to argue with her. With any institution trying to implement a broad program for individuals, there are bound to be issues. With that being said, my time at HBF Plymouth was invaluable. Wow! What a journey. Please take this seriously for those in addition or wanting to recover! I went here during covid season 2020 when I got my DUI. I was regretting it, didn't take it seriously, etc. I did my month time stay there. Went home continued with addiction cause I still didn't care. After mother's day weekend on 05.09.22 was my first day of sobriety. I'm still sober to this day. Let me tell you what, I've had the most fantastic experiences and time of my life sober! Looking back, wish I'd took things seriously. I even got off probation this year in June. I wasn't supposed to get off until November next year 2024. I mean God's work is honestly a blessing and you definitely feel him working thru you. I remember starting out here at this place, they said "higher power" and I'm like naw, I don't got that. Not even my kids. Oh yeah, God is my highest power! This place is amazing! Trust me! Great staff, food, location, etc! Just please get help! It's not worth your life ending on bad terms! I will never go back to that life style. Sobriety is just the coolest 😎 Lord the energy you have, stability, motivation, passion to keep striving and going in life! Yes!! No more laziness! It's just nice! Thank to this place and the DUI was a huge lesson I needed to kick my rear end into gear! Let's keep going! SOBRIETY ROCKS! SOBRIETY IS THE COOLEST 😎

I loved it this place has been a huge part of my sobriety I wish I could’ve stayed longer than a month! Which they will allow you to stay longer! They do help you find scholarships so you can get in! Do no hesitate just call! I still struggle with addiction but I have slowed down a lot because of this place! They do offer help after just call and make the change here!
