The VA Bessemer Clinic staff is always efficient and respectful to my Father and we as his children. Dr. Cooley takes the time to listen from the heart and provide valuable feedback.

We relocated from another state and Bessemer VA was quick to schedule appointment for my husband as well as insure additional appointments were arranged for additional specialty clinics. We were very impressed with the provider as well as the staff. We appreciated their efficiency as well as their caring attitudes. Made this part of our relocation a relief. Additionally, every clinic we have encountered between Bessemer and Birmingham has been very positive, professional, and efficient!

Impact Recovery was a great experience. This disease can make one feel alone and hopeless. In this place I felt welcome and embraced by the staff and other residents that share in this disease. They teach you not only to live a sober life but much more about a different way of life that is fulfilling and free. I can’t say enough about the staff”s authenticity and genuine care and understanding of someone going through and battling this illness. It comes from their own life experiences that are relatable to our own, as they all have battled this disease and live to share and help others achieve the same.

I honestly can’t thank Impact and their entire staff enough! I had no clue what to expect with them being my very first treatment center. I’ve never worked the Steps before and truly believed that I was just meant to live the same miserable life that I’ve been living until my death. They showed me that was far from the truth. I can proudly attest to that with today being 90 days sober! This is the longest I’ve been 100% off anything mind-altering since I was 14 years old. From my very first call with the owner Adams to my last day of the 35 day program, everyone treated me with so much kindness and patience. They teach you everything you need to know in order to live a happy and healthy life without drugs/alcohol, you just have to be willing to not only learn what they teach but also put it all into practice in real life. Wherever below rock bottom is, I was there for sure before Impact. Adams, Chad, Shaun, Colby, Schwartz, Dikis, Taner, Moody, Sam, Kathleen, and Emily, you are all a Godsend and I thank you for honestly saving my life. Keep doing the amazing work that you all have been doing, and if anyone reading this is willing and able to become part of the Impact family I say do it. My brother is in Freedom Hall healthcare. The Drs, nurses, cna’s, PT, housekeeping and kitchen staff are all very caring. They go above and beyond for Charles and the family sitting with him. I have sat at 6 different facilities with family. None come close to meeting the high standard Freedom Hall reaches.

We’ve had the pleasure of working with Brooksie and David at the VA Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Their commitment to supporting veterans is evident in everything they do. They’re responsive, compassionate, and consistently go the extra mile to ensure veterans receive the care and resources they need.

I was there at the inpatient PTSD program from March until May. I had a very positive experience while there. The medical staff was always polite to me as well as any of the other staff members I met. I never felt like I was a problem or a burden or causing them an inconvenience when I asked for something. This VA helped save my life and give me the foundation to lay my new mental health journey upon. My case worker Robin S. was aces! Helped me selected a class schedule-work load that was focused on PTSD. The only issue I had was the food. The food was horrible but the dietician’s did work with me to change up my personal menu. There are rules in place for the resident and the rules will not be violated without repercussions. I kept my head down, minded my own business and walked so much around the campus in my down time. Those 7 weeks flew by. You can have Amazon prime deliver things to you for your stay and your allowed door dash. There are random drug screenings and breathalyzers as part of the stay. These are mandatory not suggested. Be involved in your care and you will have a great experience. Be a problem and you’re gonna get treated as such. Thank you to everyone who helped me to get there, while I was there and the after discharge phone calls to check up on me. I am one appreciative veteran.

Nurses/dosing staff: 5/5 Receptionist: 5/5 Dr. Archibald: 2/5 Counselors: 2/5 Cleanliness: 3/5 Safety: 4/5 Parking Lot: 3/5 Nurses/front desk/dosing staff are great, really sweet people who treat you like you're human. I love that THEY OFFER GRANTS that cover all or most of your treatment. Focus is definitely not on counseling here, and your experience can vary pretty widely depending on who you get. I'm currently on a by-the-book stickler counselor, but they never last long so hopefully my next one will be better. I think I've had 5+ counselors I've gone through in less than a year because they come and go so quickly. Dr. Archibald tends to be less than sympathetic to addicts. I'm not sure why people like that work in these places but I guess maybe they start wanting to help then get jaded. One good thing about him though is that he'll prescribe narcotics like Xanax and Adderall on top of the Methadone if you play your cards right.

I learned those are people who are there to help you and they are actually very serious about health and recovery. Now I am a happy, functioning, productive member of society. Counselors knew where to take me and were non-judgemental. Everyone acts as if you are the only client because they give you their full attention (and there is a lot of people coming really)

I've been to several MMT locations in Alabama. This clinic by far is the best one !!! All the staff and counselors are great and there's never nomore that around 7 people in line if that someday only 1-2 people in line

Not only did this place save my life it has changed my life to the good the the staff is the most carring people you'll ever encounter I have recommend this place to hundreds of people and will continue

My son was shot 4 times on Jan 31 on my granddaughter’s 13th birthday in front of his father in Bessemer. He was shot twice in the stomach and twice in the chest. He remained calm and called 911 and told God you saved me once so I know you will save me again. He was born three days after my 42nd birthday and received his name due to a healing when they said he was going to die. His name is Blesset Isaiah Person. After he was named after a Nigerian friend named Blessing and my sister-in-law said to name him Isaiah which means the Lord Saves I called and gave my assistant minister his name and the doctors’ cane in and said look like he’s going to pull through to which I responded there is no look like with God! Anyway UAB trauma surgeons are the best in the country. The surgery took about 41/2 hours. He lost a kidney, his spleen, a piece of his pancreas and has a bullet lodged in his back. First off when I made it to the 9th floor trauma unit Fonda gave me a coffee cake and Laquita continued to take care of me and my family daily! The nurses were heavenly divine. There was Abby Vice my favorite and Abby Hadaway my other favorite, plus Emily, and Shantia my son who relieved me and my son the patient’s favorite along with me. Omg all the nurses were so great. The PCAs’ Jason, Jordon, Brady, Daphne and the rest went above and beyond. As for the doctors’ the Trauma doctors were the best this side of heaven. Dr WAN was so kind and friendly. He explained my son’s condition very well as did Dr. Frutata and Dr Wu who discharged him today! Dr Amini made a great impression on me as well and Dr Weiner. They are exceptional and do their jobs in a manner consistent with excellence. I’m proud to have known them! I wish them continued blessings in order to continue to help others’ in their professional journey!💙🔥💙🔥💙🙏🏿

stayed for one week on two separate occasions on the adolescent psych ward. kind nurses, nice activities, and good food. some older nurses were rude and the dress code is a little strict. i left feeling better than i did when i arrived!

They have a wonderful Patient Care Tech!! He’s a cute white guy, They called him J.B. He was on night shift. I think his name was James. But this guy was an awesome PCT. He was very nice and polite to all the patients and he was very uplifting to me and Everyone around him and he also kept everyone laughing. He also cleaned up after us where other pct’s just sat in the area where the Nurses were and some even were so rude and would even provoke patients. 🙄 The Nursing Staff for the most part was kind and caring. Of course you have a few that are A holes but that’s to be expected anywhere you go! The Doctors were also nice and came around once a day.

I had a family member in the geriatric unit, and there are not enough thank you’s that I could give to our family member’s social worker, nurses, doctors, and all staff. They are extremely open to working with you as a family, and take great care of your loved one. They show care, kindness, patience, and professionalism. The incredible progress and help that we received having our family member here could never be repaid. Should you need it, they will be a great advocate for your loved one. Thank you so much!

The Phoenix house is a great wonderful place to be. They saved my life an without them I know I wouldn't have such a great quality of life like I do today. I'm getting my life back one day at a time. I'm forever thankful to them. Everyone there especially the staff. Mrs Kim and John.b and Jim.J. was an still are my new family. I miss you all dearly an thank God for bringing me to the Phoenix house. From the bottom of my heart thank you all.

I will never forget this place or forget the staff that were there at my time. They saved my life and it was strict because of Covid at that time. I had the best time in my recovery and grateful for the help I received.
