I wanted to share my experience here as there are a lot of negative reviews. I was here for a week and I actually enjoyed it here. The nurses are really nice and the food is great. I would make a few changes though. Like better bedding and more blankets. Otherwise, I was treated wirh respect and fairness and learned a lot. Thank you for all the help!

This place has made such an improvement in our lives. Lacey is amazing. Jamie, Dr. Witherington, and Dr. Ellington are all spectacular. We followed Dr Ellington and couldn't have made a better decision. I can tell you that some of these reviews are just people not taking responsibility for their actions. There's no odor. The building isn't falling apart or guilty. I'm fact, it's cleaner than most clinics. Sure it's small, but they are just beginning. There's always time for improvements and expansions. Maybe show up on time if you don't want to be fined the 75 fee that is clearly posted. They also ask that we tell them directly not voice mail. It's really simple

This place is truly amazing. We transfered from the guidance center and it was the best decision ever made. We followed Dr. Elliton and we dont regret it at all, my son was thier first patient but after a few appointments I decided I would give them a try. I have been to many over that last decade and did just give up but Lacy was so kind and friendly as well as Jesse that I figured what the heck do I have to lose. I made an appointment and learned that for years I have been misdiagnosed and when I seen Dr Witherington for the first time I felt heard. This office is small but that is the best part for anyone with anxiety, and everyone is so welcoming. My son dont fight to go like he has before with other places. To us we are not just a patient they make us feel like we are friends and that we matter just as much as the next person that walks through the door.

They are actually really good and nice people. There is nothing wrong with this place. They have been nothing but kind. There is no urine on the walls and tanner the poodle in professional. If anything the people giving bad reviews haven’t actually experienced being here. If you go to any therapist office especially a small one like this they can’t fit everyone in. If you really are having mental health issues you need to get help from places that deal with that. This is therapy. Not a place where they constantly have room for everyone. It’s your job to show up. It’s your job to get help if you need it. The size of this building is small. They can’t fit hundreds of people like you wish. You can’t demand to be here. You have to wait your turn. If your mentally unstable and your going to do something then go to a hospital instead of yelling at the staff here. They are incredible people.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt like this one needed to be written. Matt Lapham has been one of the biggest blessings during my time at True Self. What makes Matt different is that he has been where many of us have been. He understands the struggles, the setbacks, and the challenges of recovery because he’s lived it himself. That experience allows him to connect with people in a way that can’t be taught. Matt goes above and beyond for every single client, often without looking for any recognition. Whether it’s making sure someone has hygiene products, helping people find clothes and socks, taking clients to food banks, or simply being there when someone needs support, he’s always finding ways to help. If someone is in need, Matt is usually already working on a solution before they even have to ask. One thing that always stands out is the way he takes care of everyone at the house. He cooks dinner every night without complaint, and somehow manages to make it feel like a home instead of just a place to stay. The meals are always great, and it’s clear he puts his heart into everything he does. Matt also teaches classes at True Self, and every class leaves an impact. He has a way of making people think deeply about their recovery, their choices, and their future. Even when he doubts himself or feels like he could have done better, those of us listening know he’s doing an amazing job. His honesty, experience, and passion for helping others come through every time he speaks. True Self is fortunate to have someone like Matt Lapham. The amount of time, energy, and compassion he pours into helping others is truly inspiring. I have an amazing doctor, Dr. Morgan. My other specialists are wonderful, too. No one has been disrespectful or nasty to me, unlike hospitals in Decatur, Il, where I was treated like crap and nearly died due to incompetence there. I love Natural State Recovery Centers and the people working there. They are so compassionate and the classes are taught by Masters Level Clinicians which is one of the only facilities in Arkansas that does that. The food is great, oh and they have a track and basketball gym...plus goats!

I went here for a few months for help with tapering off of benzos that I had been prescribed for anxiety. I was having a lot of trouble or with withdrawal symptoms and wanted to make sure I was tapering the correct way. I met with Brian a couple times and he was very nice. The only negative I have is he did a drug test on me without disclosing that I would get a bill. Now I have a $180 bill to test for drugs that I was prescribed. It would have been nice if the fact that I would have to pay so much for a drug test was disclosed before taking it, and if I had been given an option to opt out.

I would just like to share my experience about Natural State and the guy Michael who manages the sober living houses. If it was not for him my son would be dead. He told me from the beginning that if my son was willing to go to any lengths to change his life then he would have a chance. I almost enabled my son to his grave by not listening to Michael and taking his suggestions. Today my son has a little over a year sober and is a new person. He also suggested that I go to Alanon meetings which I have been for a year and the relief that I get from these meetings are priceless. My son was making every excuse in the world to me and I was believing him instead of someone who has walked in his shoes. Again thank you Michael and Natural State Recovery.
