I went into the ER because I was dehydrated, weak and queasy stomach. Diagnosed with acute renal injury. Had to be admitted and get rehydrated then tested again. Nurse Fabian was very professional, pleasant and attentive. Also, he put in my IV perfectly the first try. I was in the ER room for about 10 hours because there was no open room in the hospital itself. Once admitted, the staff was very good- everyone was professional, caring and helpful. Food was ordered for me for supper and I got the medication I needed to sleep. It’s never quiet in a hospital room but I had my own room, attached bathroom and slept for about 6 hours. From 10pm to 1am, my nurse Emily took care of me and from 1am to 7am Laura was my nurse. Kyrsten was my nurse from 7-3 and then I was discharged. All were professional nurses.

Great nurses, and counselors. Just all around good people working there who truly care about you, especially Dawn whos is my counselor. Every time we talk she always tells me how proud of me she is, and for how far I've came in the recovery journey. To hear that makes me feel even better about myself and how far ive came. The whole staff wants see you grow and become the best you. Their like a second family to me, as well as some of the other patients you might meet. I'm beyond grateful for these people, bless to have them in my life.

I am going on my 7th year here. When I had my first appointment I was so scared and nervous that I was going to be judged or looked at differently. Not even one member of staff has ever made me feel that way. What I would tell myself and anyone afraid to take that leap. You are worth it, you deserve to be drug and/or alcahol free and happy. It hurts nothing to try. Help, health and happiness is really only a call away. I'm not gonna lie it's not easy at first but as time goes on before you know it you won't even think about any substance any more. You are worth it!!!!!

This place saved my life, I was entirely lost and mentally stranded after years of mistakes. I never learned how to function as an adult in the real world, which exactly what Roots taught me. The sober living program provides a very structured schedule, helps build disciplines, and teaches real life skills alongside how to live a happy life in recovery. When I first got to roots I was very shut down and isolated, I wanted nothing to do with anyone including myself, I had no hope left. I have now been at roots for a year and I can truly say that roots gave me my life back. I have learned how to trust others, myself, and be more vulnerable which has helped me make connections with other sober people in my community, and rebuild the ones that I had tore down in my active addiction. The structure helped me to stay accountable and relearn what everyday life is like outside of using, I forgot how to be a human outside of drugs and alcohol and roots helped me to build up my skills again. I could go on and on about how much roots has changed my life but I can assure you that in the year I have been here I am a completely different person and I am so beyond grateful I came to roots and that the people within roots never lost hope in me!

I went to bridge house after going to an inpatient. Going to Bridge house for the first time was an life changing amazing experience especially being there for the holidays up until about 2 weeks ago when i graduated the program. They offer groups I never thought I would get into yoga and meditation. I now enjoy doing both because of bridge house. They have awesome food that I used to always cook they actually care about what you're interested in making they buy all the ingredients for you to cook for the house on your scheduled day .They have very good groups and peer support groups. I enjoyed playing the drums and the keyboard that they have to offer as well. So shout out to bridge house thank you for all your support loving and caring attitude towards me always. Thank you Dr Guerra Thank you Ms Leticia and Ms Colleen for all of your support, one on ones and the advice you have all way given me. Some of the classes were great! The art therapy was amazing. Some of the staff was great. Juliana deserves a raise!! That girl handled some very difficult people over the weekend. Some of the aids were so kind and fun and helpful. Definitely some not so nice or invested staff. They did great with my food allergies. Overall was a helpful stay for mental health but a few employees that may need to be let go.

I was there a few times. The LAST AND FINAL time was about 12 years ago. I was meant to be there. I actually met my husband there. Lol. These people care... they do care, if you care. Counselors can only do so much to help someone who is NOT ready for help. This was state funded. I don't understand all the bad reviews. It's better than Cook County Jail, Lake county Jail and McHenry County Jail. People lived in gutters slept on sidewalks, did anything necessary to fullfull our addictions and then go to a state funded place and complain that it is an awful place. I'll take ATP over active addiction any day. People don't realize how stressful counselors jobs are. They are dealing with some of the worst, entitled people America has to offer. A place can only do so much. They can only help you as much as you want it. If you have found yourself in ATP and are ungrateful for whatever they have to offer, you are not ready. They treated me better than I treated myself. So, I learned alot from ATP. It's not a full on rehab. It's more of a first step to sobriety. THANK YOU ATP FOR TAKING CARE OF ME BETTER THAN I CARED FOR MYSELF. YOU TOOK ME IN WHEN I NEEDED IT THE MOST. ILL NEVER FORGET WHERE MY SOBRIETY BECAME A POSSIBILITY AND THEN REALITY. NEVER THOUGHT ID GET CLEAN. EVER. IF I CAN DO IT, ANYONE CAN! THANK YOU AGAIN ATP FOR SHOWING ME RESPECT WHILE I WAS GIVING IT ALSO. The last in the reviews that said she got hit, I guarantee, you got him to that point. I've seen alot of disrespect and patients who think they are owed the world in a STATE FUNDED 2 week stay. (If I remember correctly it was 2 weeks.) YOU get back what you put out into the world. Thank You ATP for helping me get off the streets of Chicago's West side and taking me in.
