Footprints was an absolutely stellar facility to go to after completing inpatient addiction treatment. The staff were all very patient and understanding during my biggest ups and downs during treatment, and I never felt any judgement even at my lowest points.
Recovery is such a serious rock to carry but the groups and providers helped me collect the tools necessary to be able to tackle this journey on my own.
The nursing team was incredibly helpful in finding me medications that are actually helping my mental health and addiction cravings. I’ve had more success in the three months I got to share with Footprints than the years I’ve worked with my primary care and therapist.
Andrew with case management is hilarious and hugely helpful with resources and managing work and life alongside treatment.
Anika is an incredible therapist and I am sad to leave her care, but know she will continue to do amazing things for other clients.

Bracebridge was and is a lifesaver for me. Not only is the staff 100% invested and amazing, the campus, the food, and facilities definitely contribute to making the tough time a little more bearable. Special shoutout to Tammy who was my Primary Therapist. She pushed and supported me during my stay and I am eternally grateful for her. Another shoutout to Dan, the alumni coordinator. While the entire staff is amazing when you’re on the inside, Dan keeps the alumni engaged and active once you leave campus. While it sucked HAVING to be there, I absolutely loved the experience and in hindsight, I have Bracbridge to thank for giving me the tools to have my life back. I’d give 10 stars if I could.

My time at RCA Bracebridge Hall truly changed my life. I spent 30 days there, and it was one of the most meaningful and transformative experiences I’ve ever had.
The program was incredibly informative and gave me the tools I needed to move forward with confidence. What stood out the most, though, was the level of support. The staff genuinely care, you can feel that they have big hearts and are fully invested in helping each person succeed. They made sure I felt prepared for life after leaving, which made a huge difference for me.
I also met some amazing people during my stay, and those connections meant a lot. The facility itself is beautiful and in a peaceful location, which really helped me focus on my recovery.
One of the most valuable parts of the experience has been the alumni support group. Staying connected after leaving has been so important, and the program they’ve built is truly special. Dan, in particular, has done so much for the alumni community, and I’m incredibly grateful for his dedication and support.
I feel very blessed to have had this experience, and I would highly recommend RCA Bracebridge Hall to anyone seeking help and a fresh start.

Update: Over 2 years sober. I also went through a very high risk period for relapse over the past month. For whatever reason cravings and temptations came back, but I used what I learned at the Ridge and am still sober and so thankful. Definitely recommend. This is the best thing you will ever do for yourself.
Update: 526 days sober and going strong. I have definitely had cravings and vulnerable points, but have managed to stay sober thanks in large part to the ridge.
I’m at 8 months sober today and can say that the things I learned at the Ridge still help me every day- literally. I am still in the aftercare program and getting a lot out of it. If you need help this is a great place to build a foundation for sobriety (and abstinence from other drugs as well).
Summary: The Ridge is an excellent comprehensive treatment program for alcohol use disorder (and others). I personally had an exceptional experience with the residential treatment program, intensive outpatient therapy, and aftercare. Nothing about this experience was easy but I am confident that due to my experience with The Ridge I have a solid recovery foundation (I am just over 4 months sober currently).

-access to a wide variety of recreational activities and art and music therapy classes
-I felt prepared when I left and have continued to feel that way (it has been difficult but I have the tools)
-staff are compassionate and helpful; many are in recovery themselves
– peer support
– comfortable accomodations and excellent food
My advice if you are going to a program like The Ridge (these things helped me to have continued success today)
-follow the rules, yes they may seem silly
-do awkward things they ask like getting a temporary sponsor and numbers at meetings
-listen to their advice, they may says things that sound stupid,my experience is that the things I think sound stupid end up being the pertinent ones
-try to relax into the time; enjoy not having to do a ton of chores, cook for yourself etc
-take the time to build a new hobby
I electected to go to The Ridge when I came to terms with the fact that I have an alcohol use disorder. I was receiving psychiatric care and my provider gently led me to acknowledge this. Two providers independently recommended The Ridge when I expressed interest in treatment.
Residential
I initially signed up for the 30 day program but decided to stay longer as I was getting a lot out of the program and am really happy that I did.
Residential days are very full. The beginning of the day is filled with groups. The afternoon has time for recreational activities (no naps). A lot of people take up pickleball during this time but there is also the option to go to the pool (when open), do art, write, etc. Evenings there are 12 step meetings in the community.
Accomodations
I stayed in a private room which I would say was Marrott quality. Cleaning services are provided. You are expected to make your bed (a pretty minor thing). The meals are excellent and snacks are freely available. The culinary staff are great- very personable and great educators. It was sufficiently comfortable and quiet enough to get quality sleep.
Nursing
Nursing staff were generally available and very helpful. Medication time windows could be a bit tight but were feasible.
Recovery support specialist staff
Recovery support specialists helped with sessions, daily questions, and herding everyone, They all have different personalities but in general were very easy to get along with. Supervisory staff were very helpful and responsive.
Counselors
Generally had very helpful sessions, individual counseling was very helpful.

I can’t speak highly enough about Ashwood Recovery. They truly helped save my life. Every group session and every exercise they had us complete was integral to my recovery. This was my first time in residential treatment. I’ve struggled with alcohol/addiction for the majority of my life. I found real help here (for my mental health as well). I found real people here. It was honestly some of the best weeks of my life.
If any of my family or friends are struggling with drinking/using I will refer them here. This is a special place. A place that fosters cultivation of real personal growth. I’m currently in their IOP program after graduating residential, and it’s excellent aftercare.
This place changed my life. Of course it came with challenges; but the environment, culture, and staff here are all great. I’m the one who had to commit to recovery, but this is the place to do it.

I don’t even know where to start…
In my darkest of times, when I felt so lost, hopeless, and worthless and I felt like the world was better off without me, I walked into these doors. And it felt like home. I felt warmth, love, and a sense of security. I had people surround me, and walk with me through some of the worst things in my life. And they showed me how to look inside and find what it was at my core that had left me feeling so empty. They showed me how to fill it with self love, forgiveness, understanding, and confidence. And I have used every moment of my time there as stepping stones and a foundation in everyday of my life since. I truly wouldn’t be alive today without this place and all of the staff.

An incredible facility that’s worth exploring. If you’re at the end of your rope, don’t give up hope and give this place a try! The techs, cooks, and clinicians here are all top-notch. They help you find the tools and healthy habits you need to get and stay clean. I don’t know where I would be in my life today if it weren’t for Sunflower Recovery, unlike any other treatment center. They’re truly like family to me at this point. I love this facility! I’ve been now clean 19 months and it’s all thanks to sunflower!!
