Addiction Challenges for Veterans & Military

The trauma that veterans face during deployment and combat can have enduring and life-altering consequences. In return for the sacrifices our troops make, they deserve to know which U.S. cities have the best veteran’s drug and alcohol rehab programs.

Veterans as a group are at a heightened risk of developing mental illness. This is especially true as they reintegrate into society after military service.

The good news is there are resources that can help. Many rehab centers have veteran addiction treatment programs designed specifically for this population, led by clinicians who are specially trained to identify and treat substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions in veterans.

If you or someone you love is seeking this type of care it’s important to look for facilities that are equipped to treat the unique needs of vets.

Team members should be trained on issues faced by the military community and understand how to use evidence-based therapies to support your sustained recovery. While these centers are available across the U.S., the following cities are great places to start your search.

How We Chose The Best Cities for Military Drug Rehab

We have spent hundreds of hours analyzing 20,000+ treatment centers to determine the best alcohol & drug rehabs in the U.S. We score centers on multiple criteria, including patient reviews, clinical staff, availability of program information, and brand reputation metrics to determine the top-rated programs in a given city or state.
