I like to leave high star reviews just in hopes maybe someone will actually realize it’s about wanting change and not ruining a business chance at it by affecting their overall ratings. I agree with the comment; “The clinicians are either great or terrible…” ABSOLUTELY. The front desk is cold 98% of the time, has a way of making you feel like an absolute waste of space, time, and effort……Now if this was an Arby’s, or maybe even an eye dr, honestly I’d probably move about my day. But this is MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES. The thought of having people with god awful bedside manner when you’re in such a time of need & vulnerability is absolutely infuriating. Some of us are crippled by social interaction, especially phone calls/confrontation, the least you could expect is someone with more than a monotone voice and dead look in their eyes. Maybe it’s because the fronts & and clinicians are properly medicated/regulated so they come across with no form of emotion….Lapsing on meds, no call backs for days/weeks. I won’t list my dr quite yet in hopes there is progress made. These are quite literally peoples lives you are playing with, if you only have a textbook perception of these disorders, maybe it’s time to look at a different industry.

Al Gonzales is my therapist, a Veteran and is extremely helpful and therapeutic in many aspects of my life. In years past I had a doctor, there, who put me on multiple medications, he changed my life. I was a complete mess. Overweight, depressed, feeling worthless. Everything changed on the meds I was taking. For some reason the doctor was let go, later. I am thankful for that doctor, in that time in my life. I am thankful for Al Gonzales, now!

I had went to shadow mountain a few years back, and they have really helped me change my life for the better. I went in anxious and insecure, and everyone here (including Randal and Richard, and a lot more staff I can’t remember the name of) had lifted me up and supported me in ways I’ve never experienced in other facilities. Randal had helped me become more confident in myself while Richard had helped me understand my relationship with life and god deeper, and they gave me the opportunity to go forward to another sober living out in Huntington Beach, which has all lead to me coming up on 2 years sober this months, a finance I love, and a life that I feel like I’m thriving in. Shadow mountain was a fundamental part of my life changing from relentless drug abuse and hurting myself and others around me, to growth in myself and a life where I have value and purpose. This is an exceptional treatment experience for addiction. The staff, led by the amazing Randall Staton, is extraordinary; many professionals passionate about helping people like me. The facility itself is nestled in Shadow Mountain and it is well maintained and very comfortable. The mountain itself is a very spiritual place. It has a lot of power and one can feel it just by being there. If you or a loved one needs help with addiction, I highly recommend Shadow Mountain Recovery in Taos, New Mexico. It's one of a kind and truly effective.

I wanted to wait a year before i left a review about my experience at Vista, and here we are. I am 1 year and 1 month sober !! When i first came to the facility i was in terrible shape, physically and mentally. I fought the treatment for weeks before i saw that i was actually getting better. I completed the 30-day program at Vista Taos and had an amazing experience and met a lot of great people during my stay. I have been in other treatment centers and Vista Taos is by far the best! JD was my therapist and had great knowledge and experience when it came to relapse prevention, identifying triggers and learning about the disease of addiction as well as tapping into trauma and trauma response actions. If you're looking for a rehab that works, this is the place to go. The environment is serene and peaceful. Weekly outings, 5-star meals, off-site meetings, individual therapy, queen sized comfy beds, full bathrooms with tubs or standing showers all accommodated for a comfortable stay for me while I was being rehabilitated for Methamphetamines and Alcohol. The staff was kind and respectful towards my needs and gave great inspiration and encouragement during my stay. Vista Taos is by far the best rehab in New Mexico. If you're searching for yourself or a loved one, this is the place to go. Don't hesitate, make the call now!

I researched many rehab facilities in the U.S. in several states (NM, Ariz., Utah, Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, Florida) and after careful consideration of all features, size, programs, quality of care, offerings, environment -- Vista came out on top, as my #1 pick best of all rehab programs.Also, the intake counselor Jeremy was extraordinary, he took so much time and care to discuss programs and specifics, and advise me about pros and cons of rehab in general, what to look for, how to evaluate programs, and how to select the best options for my family member. He even helped me network with other rehabs to get their info and compare. He is an amazing resource and the most caring, giving intake person I encountered in all rehabs I searched. Our 17 year old daughter just came home from spending 4 months at Southern Peaks in Canon City for repeated suicidal ideation/attempts. I was really nervous about sending her there after reading Google reviews, but it’s the only place in the state that Medicaid covers, so we didn’t have a choice. We were really happy with the facility and staff. They’ve been going through a lot of good changes in 2025, and the staff seemed to genuinely care about the kids. Her time there gave our family the break we desperately needed from the stress of trying to keep her safe all the time, and she did learn and grow and stabilize (hopefully). They have a detailed pillar system and therapy curriculum the kids work through as they progress, and they get weekly individual therapy and weekly family therapy via zoom. The bad part is that they spend 24/7 surrounded by the most mentally ill kids in the state, and the kids definitely have a very negative effect on one another. There’s no getting around that. But overall I still think it was the right call for our family.

I was a former client from 2016-2018, admitted 3x & honestly as an adult now I can admit I kept coming back partially because I liked yall and because I just blatantly wasn't ready to change. Some staff definitely filled a family like void that I craved for a long time. Idk how things are NOW but when I was there, Y'all tried your best & I could tell. I appreciate every last one of you for molding me into the Mom & Adult I am now! I wasn't the easiest to deal with, actually I was a shithead lol & unfortunately one of the worst kids y'all have dealt with but y'alls patience & care for me never withered. I was here from the old handbook to the new & although some things could have been dealt with better, you guys are dealing with unwell and troubled kids from all backgrounds (Behavioral, Se*ual, Abuse in all ways) and some of you have gone above and beyond for us.

There staff members are all so caring and kind. Like I've never been treated so nice and respected in a detox facility before. Really caring people with kind hearts. I cannot thank you enough for the way you all took care of me and with such respect and honor when I was at my worst. Much has changed in the Clinic in the past 6 months or so, especially an increase in medical professionals and the overall quality of care. Also, the staff are employees of "Primary Care Solutions" (home-based in Dallas, TX) and not the VA, so they are probably less vulnerable to the personnel cuts and service disruptions that the VA is experiencing. Finally, I find the staff at the clinic to be as as caring and competent as the VA employees at the Albuquerque Regional VA Hospital.

Amazing staff, incredibly compassionate! Recovery Campus is a huge help when you're just taking off in your recovery and have basically nothing left to start with. Everyone there treats you with respect and dignity instead of seeing you as a junkie or an alcoholic. They have counselors trained in this cool thing called EMDR that is wonderful if you have trauma in your past that you still find hard to cope with. Trinda, Sandy and Heidi were fantastic supports for me but there are others that are just as skilled and experienced that can help you too if out patient treatment is what you're looking for. I have learned so much about myself and have gained the skills I need to be successful in my recovery. Thanks to RMBH!

For six months, they've been extremely helpful and flexible with payment and schedules. For the first time in 26 years, this is the first place where I really fit in, feel accepted, and have my needs and preferences met. Every staff member that works here does a great job and works hard. I think we all deserve all the support we can get!

Been going here for about six months. They've been extremely helpful and flexible with payment when my insurance lapsed. I've been visiting counseling for 20 years, and this is the first place I've been where I really fit in, feel accepted, and have my needs and preferences met. The other person who left a one star review is probably projecting. These people do a great job and work hard. They even provide things like soap, toothpaste, and small candies for people hard on their luck. They deserve all the support they can get!

I saw her for a year or two when I was a teenager, way back in the 1990s. I was too young and ignorant to be capable of really getting anything out of therapy, but she made a heroic effort to try to help me. She was inclusive of LGBTQ+ people at a time and in a city where that wasn't yet very common. I didn't appreciate her enough at the time and I will always feel guilty about that.
