I was a little nervous about going to a psych hospital that was an hour and a half from where I lived, but I have nothing to say but good things about this facility. The shrink wasn't the best, but the nurses and support staff were amazing. I spent a little over 2 weeks there, and it really helped. Not my preferred psych facility, but they really helped. So, if yr having trouble dealing with mental health, and in need of help, this place won't do you wrong. And the food was very good. Once they realized I was a vegetarian, I got great food. This place helps you put things into perspective. After my stay, I know I won't need to go anywhere else. They made me understand that I'm ok. And that's a feeling I haven't had in a while.

The Starlight program for the Military side is just outstanding. I was treated with respect and dignity and everyone is willing to help in anyway.

If you or a female loved one- mother, daughter, sister, lover, spouse, or friend, are struggling with substance abuse The Stonington Women's Starlite Program is the first and only program I would recommend. I am what they call a chronic relapser, so I've been caught in a cycle of rehabs, clean time, and relapse for a long time. Words cannot express what this program has done for me. Even now I can hear their program director, Shorey Naphen, telling me its not what they did its what I did for myself. Everything from the grounds to the cafeteria; The art room, gym, group rooms, bed rooms, clinicians offices. Every part of this program has been designed to help women feel safe. Because we as addicts have been living in survival mode for so long, it is impairative that we not only be provided basic human necessities- food, water, shelter- but we need safety and connection as well. We will not feel safe to share our mistakes, pain, anguish, and fears unless we feel safe. The human race was made to survive working together. As far back as being hunters and gatherers there, is a place for each person, and we have lost that along the way. This program helped me to remember I matter. I am worth love and kindness and loyalty. It helped me to name my emotions- to sit back and really get to recognize what it is I am feeling, why I'm feeling it, what triggered said feeling, and how to healthily communicate those feelings to others. I learned how to set healthy boundaries which is very important to maintain self respect and respect for others. I worked everyday, on becoming the best version of myself. I listened to every word. I read every piece of literature. In 90 days I became a completely different person. I had walked in broken and hopeless, once again. I left with a strength and energy I didnt know I could ever have. I haven't been out for even 3 weeks and I've begun an IOP step down, I go to meetings every night, I have a sponsor, I just got hired at 2 different jobs, and I'm working on going back to school. For the first time, to he quite honest, I did not want to leave. They did what no other program could. They helped me let go, grieve, and feel again, safely. Its uncomfortable, and no I didnt want to do it. Sometimes it felt like I couldnt do it. They never gave up. There was ALWAYS someone just around the corner to listen, to lend a hand, or walk with you till you could breathe once again. It is by no means easy, but if there were ever a program I would recommend, it would be The Stonington Womens Starlite Program.

I went into the Starlight Program at the Stonington Institute October 2024. The staff were excellent and very patient oriented. Everything was scheduled out for us so we knew who was doing what. Since attending the program I have been doing public speaking, going to school for psychology, as well as helping other veterans and military members who are in need of resources. If it wasn’t for the Starlight Program I wouldn’t be where I am today working on bettering myself.

Staff and Counselors are Impeccable. Very interactive and effective sessions. Also helped me with court proceedings. Life savers!

Truly love the staff I was so down and ready to give up but dee was right there getting everything set up and ur not just a number they truly care and go beyond if they see your truly trying give them a call! I'm so glad I did

Since becoming a client at VICTA I'm so grateful for the caring n nurturing staff. They Get It! They're not about just dose n go. Tho you can get that too if that's how you like to roll. I guess what I'm trying to say is that no matter where you're at in your recovery they're there to provide whatever level of care you need. Or they'll refer you to whatever agency is able to provide you with what's necessary if you need inpatient care. I just really like the way they run there establishment

I had a CTscan yesterday. Everyone I had contact with was very professional and cordial,from security on. I especially wish to thank your technician for her help in getting me to the cafeteria and on my way home. I hope that she sees this. Thank you ❤️

I had ambulatory / outpatient surgery on my knee here last week, and dare I say, it was actually a pleasant experience! Every employee I encountered was professional and polite, from security, to check-in, to nurses and doctors. Staff was very caring and thorough, which is refreshing these days. Because of my ride situation, I arrived about an hour early, but they accommodated me with no problem. The surgery went smoothly, and the recovery room nurse was excellent. Discharge also went smoothly, and it was easy for my ride to park close to the building, so an attendant could wheel me out to the car. I'd rate them a 10 out of 10.

I came here at 3:30 PM on a Saturday and I was out by 5:30 PM. The staff were friendly, professional, and caring.

My family has used the ER twice in the last few weeks and have nothing but good things to say. Of course, expect to wait if your condition isn't immediately life-threatening, but that's given at any hospital. Staff, treatment, and facilities are all very good. RNs Cecilia and Carol, as well as CNAs Liz and Rana have my thanks.

My 81-year-old mother's indoor cat bit her & her hand swelled up so she went to Atmed urgent care in Johnston RI where the dr told her she probably has rabies & could die & needed to go to the hospital for rabies treatment. She went to Fatima & they couldn't believe the dr told her that. All she needed was a tetanus shot!! EVERYBODY from the receptionist, the nurses, & Dr Lawrence was wonderful 👍 this is the kind of place you want to go to when you need medical help! 5 stars for the receptionist, nurses, & Dr. Lawrence! THANK YOU FOR HELPING MY MOM!

I hade a fusion done at I could not have asked for a better Dr and NP.From the time I was admitted for surgery. Had my surgery the whole staff ,nurses,kitchen and ofcause my Drs from university Orthopedics.Are the very best. Thank you Dr John Czerwein and Leslie Billington N.P.

They saved my life and gave me a life I never thought would be possible. If you're questioning getting on the program then please give it a chance it's worth it. I went from homeless and jobless to having a beautiful home a beautiful career and a beautiful family and most importantly of all I'm actually happy. The only time I encountered issues with this program was when there was issues with myself that I had to work on. Once I figured that stuff out, the program became very useful resource for me, in fact the most important resource in my recovery has been ROOT and CCAR combined. So grateful this program exists!

I joined this program almost 5 months ago (6/15/23), and so far I am very pleased with the services that they provide. I have been on 2 other programs (New Era in Bridgeport and CT Counciling Center in Danbury) prior to my joining the Root Center, and in my experience, the Root Center is a far better program. The nurses, the councilors, and the rest of the staff are extremely professional while maintaining a warm and friendly atmosphere for their patients. Unfortunately, I did have a couple of false positive urinalysises. However, when they saw how upset I was over the error, they believed me, and approved my take home bottles anyway. That would have NEVER HAPPENED at the other programs I have been on. If you are struggling with addiction and are considering joining the Root Center, do it. Today could be the day that you begin to turn it all around. Make the call. God bless!! It has been a couple of months since my last review. In that time I had my bottles recalled for another false positive. There's been a lot of talk at the program about this issue. Apparently this isn't a "me" problem. It's a "we" problem. Because a high (no pun intended) number of clients are complaining about false positives, and to me, that's a problem. I can't speak for everyone else, but in my case, I know that I haven't used since 6/23. It's now 1/24. I shouldn't have any drugs left in my system. The Root Center really needs to address and fix this issue. Not only is it unfair to be treated punitively when you are innocent of wrongdoing, it is also dangerous to the addict. It's the sort of thing that can topple someone's recovery.

I'm coming up on 4 years sober. And I don't think I would have made it here without this company and their staff. They don't play games and I appreciate that because if someone isn't serious then don't waste people's time and try to get "free" high. That's the wrong mentality. It's not meant to get you high, it's meant to help prevent you from wanting to get high!. And if you're dedicated they will be dedicated to helping you in every way possible... Thanks ✌️🙏😀

I received exceptional labor & delivery care, as well as outstanding OBGYN support, at Day Kimball Hospital, and I am truly so grateful for the entire team. I want to extend my deepest thanks to Gina at the Birthing Center, who quite literally helped save both me and my baby. I arrived too late to receive an epidural and was in excruciating pain. Gina’s calming presence and steady guidance helped me breathe and stay grounded through the most physically agonizing experience of my life. What I later learned from my husband only deepened my appreciation: during labor, I gripped Gina’s hand so tightly in my pain that I risked injuring her—but she never said a word and simply stayed with me. She bore that pain in silence so I could get through mine, and I will never forget her compassion and strength. I am also incredibly thankful to Dr. Aziz, who responded immediately following the birth. After sustaining a second-degree tear, she ensured I was stabilized, safe, and cared for every step of the way. During my recovery stay, every single nurse we encountered checked in on me, my baby, and my partner. They answered every question, made sure we understood everything, and treated us with care and respect. We received excellent guidance on breast feeding, and the entire team was very supportive of Dad as well. Our health, safety, and peace of mind were clearly their top priority. Thank you, Day Kimball, from the bottom of my heart. I will always be grateful for the way your team held us—literally and figuratively—during one of the most vulnerable and profound moments of our lives.
