yes, i do not want to be here. but everyone is nice. cara, one of the two dietitians, is very funny. she challenges me and i don t always like it, but it will probably help me. to be clear i am still here. i m writing this while still in php, but still. my therapist, kiran, is also very fun to talk to and always listens. you get a two sessions a week with your treatment team. you bring your own dinenr, they supply for lunch and snack. you have four groups a day to help you. the cycle menu is very repetitive but it s fine. grace, the group facilitator is the nicest person i ve ever met. i think i ve gotten better here and i hope to everyone else who comes is able to get better as well!!

If you are ready to take this program seriously you can recover here. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate and driven. I trusted all of their directions for my care and it all turned out to be exactly what I needed. On tough days they were there to boost me up and on good days they celebrated me. They were patient and understanding of the stress caused by going through recovery. I never thought recovery was possible but CDF Greenwich proved me wrong.

We will always be grateful for the kind and caring individuals that worked with our daughter and with us to support us in such a difficult time. I highly recommend backcountry wellness for eating disorder treatment. The staff are very professional and knowledgeable about this mental condition. They demonstrated they care about my daughter's mental health and responded in a timely manner all our requests and concerns. I could see the difference on my daughter when she stepped out from the program. I will be forever grateful to therapists Hannah, Julie and dietitian Rebecca for their assistance, care and compassion. The nurse Zana was also of great help. Thank you so much!!!

Could not recommend BCW more highly (residential, php and iop). Compassionate and thoroughly competent staff across the board. They made the entire process as smooth, rewarding, and effective as possible (for parents and kid alike). They listened to our needs and questions with weekly check-ins and generous email and phone contact. We were intimately involved every step of the way, but could also relax and trust that child's needs were fully taken care of. BCW combined intense group and individual therapy with all manner of fun adventures, activities and outings - all part of their philosophy of life-long skill-building, confidence, and transformation. And all in an warm, homey, highly-supportive environment. Two huge thumbs up.

Im originally from the Ronkonkama area & traveled from another state & my home that was 1200 miles away for cancer treatment.
I am happy & willing to say,
This VA in Northport did a great job from EENT, Dietitians, Hospital stay, ER, Oncology & Radiation, psychology & ALL!
Even the PD is friendly & great.👮🏼♂️😁
I kinda wish there was a clergyman around. Maybe they will institute it or get better about serving the faith or faiths.✝️
Also work on Radiation & Oncology Patient Parking I hope with a new parking lot as I completed my treatments.
The exercise did me good but horrible cold weather nearly gave me pneumonia. I'm not a valet type of guy. Well maybe once in Vegas of my 50 some odd years.
I am very appreciative of the VA in Northport.
Long Island is very fortunate to have. & get great care.
I hope to get healthy enough as I am recovering from my cancer still, I AM CANCER FREE!

(Please note that this review was written before the Trump/DOGE cuts were made to VA services.)
I've never dealt with a VA hospital before, and so didn't know what to expect when my father started using their services. I have to say that we have been extremely pleased with what we've experienced.
In addition to the very satisfactory medical care he received, another thing that was impressive was the respect with which they treat the veterans. I saw this not only with my father, but with others who I saw in the halls during our visits to their ER and other offices. You could tell that the care they gave sprung from appreciation for their service.
Both the doctors and the nurses were always there for us when we needed them. They both made house calls and the nurses were there for us 24/7-- even for emergency house calls in the wee hours of the night/morning.
Everything we experienced in our years of interactions with the VA left me with a feeling that socialized medicine could indeed work if done properly. That's not meant to be a political statement, but just an observation of truly good service coming from a government-run agency.
My dad recently passed away, so I really want to thank the Northport VA for their service to him. It made a big difference to him and those of us caring for him. I don't know what we would have done without them.

Putting my review in a nutshell,"my mother always told me to "fake it until you make it" and by becoming a rehabilitated human being at,Carnegie Hill Institute, again,I no longer have to fake it. And if there were anyone else I'd thank, besides the Lord, for seeking life' purpose,I thank the generosity of spirit and the way they come from love first and of in their successes at making sure I can regain the trust of others because they trust in me. And without gaining the trust of others,it takes away your will to live.

Carnegie Hill Institute is by far the greatest recovery program I ve ever had the pleasure of attending. In the 4 years I ve been enrolled at CHI I have successfully stopped using for 3 years now. My counselor at this time is not only the most helpful counselor I ve ever had in any recovery type place, but he s also been a great friend to me as somebody to confide in. The man who started this Institute Dr. Harvey Karkus unfortunately passed away recently much to my dismay. He was one of the last remaining doctors in this city who truly cared about his patients and genuinely tried to help each and everyone of them. However I like to believe that his legacy lives on in the new doctor on staff Dr. Ella Leers as she is much like him in many ways. In conclusion I absolutely believe 100% that my ability to stop using has been due to the care that Carnegie has given me. Thanks guys!

Had to take my husband on Saturday 05/10/25 to Holy Name Hospital. I've been to this hospital countless times, bc I like it, their service overall is decent. So it seems hubby has a bad virus, not flu or covid but possibly a type of coronavirus. That day, there was a nurse, not sure if she was an LPN or CNA bc I couldnt see her tag well but her name was Keyla Silva and she was stellar! I have never written a review about a nurse but she was awesome! So kind, caring, helpful and I really felt that she was genuine and wanted to help. she offered us both warm blankets, a pillow for my husband, water, etc. she took off my husbands socks and put the hospital ones on him, like I could've done that myself but she insisted and I thought, this is different, this is a nurse that cares. She checked on us several times, more so than the actual nurse. Not to disparage the RNs but after a while it just becomes common place to do well but not always go above and beyond and that could be because they already work a lot and are tired. But Keyla was the sweetest, friendliest nurse and I just wanted to commend her because it made a huge difference in our night. Thank you Keyla, I hope your superiors acknowledge your hard work. You're definitely a special nurse that people will remember.

‘Hurt People , Hurt People’. I needed a free therapist and was able to have 5 intake sessions with a pleasant young woman. I benefited from these sessions as it is always rewarding when we analyze and acknowledge what is going on in our lives. So much was happening for me and I was not able to attend all the assigned sessions. Management was not able to communicate in a responsible or mature manner; I wonder maybe they too are prior clients who have graduated but do not have a total grip on their situation and sometimes need help themselves. My very pleasant intake person became insensitive, cold, ‘passive aggressive’ and quite non communicative. I lead the conversation and realized that I was being ‘expelled’. I really don’t know the reason as I do believe she has her own issues and the Leadership is not of a strong foundation with knowledge of servicing a diverse clientele. Such a shame because this has the potential to be a top notch program in a great community. I only wish I was able to find an experienced, strong, qualified leadership that is familiar with diversity and respect. I was feeling hurt as this was the second time I had to deal with leadership’s lack of sensitivity. It should not be just a JOB when people come to you for help. Fix the structure of this place.

I ve completed the IOP and OP program at Mountainside which I found to be incredibly helpful in my recovery. These secessions are psychoeducational, with the goal of learning about addiction in a group setting. After I completed I began to work with a recovery coach to help strengthen my recovery and commitment to remaining sober. We discuss what I am doing for my recovery on a daily basis and potential roadblocks I may encounter as I continue my journey of recovery. She also serves as a wonderful communicator with my loved ones and sharing my progress with them. She is always available for me when I need to reach out. I would like to share some thoughts about Mountainside and especially our sons recovery coach Christina.Following his completion of a 28 day in-patient program with another provider he enrolled at Mountainside Chappaqua. He is in their Outside Patient and Recovery Coaching programs. Our son and Christina have been working together for about five months. They talk daily and meet weekly. A few weeks into the program Christina began doing weekly calls with my wife and me.Our son works with various therapists, clinicians and other staff at Mountainside. He is complimentary of the entire organization and their contribution in helping him understand his addiction and providing recovery support. My wife and I only work with Christina.Christina is EXCELLENT. She balances professional counseling, insight, accountability, great communication skills and timely follow-up. Having walked this life herself she is highly skilled and relatable but it s never about her. Christina cares. She has built valued trust with all of is. My wife s and my weekly calls provide an update on his progress and any open issues. She reminds us that he is accountable for his own recovery and keeps us in our lane. Most important she has helped keep our sons recovery moving positively forward day after day.

After years of trying everything we could think of, my wife and I finally found Westport House. Our son was admitted quickly and efficiently, and, from that point on, our experience was incredible. After a couple of months we saw a noticeable change in our son. The staff was very timely in their correspondence with us and always treated us appropriately. During his time there, our son became actively involved in Alcoholics Anonymous, obtained employment, and began treating us and others with a level of respect we did not know he was capable of. He stayed there for 7 months, and I can say, it was very much worth every penny. Our son is still sober today and continues to attend the AA meetings that he went to during his time at Westport House. We cannot thank Westport House enough for giving us our son back. After 7 painful years, the change that he was able to make in his life is incredible, and it is all thanks to the great staff and services at Westport House.

Their IOP and OP programs have been extremely helpful for me, and the one-on-one therapy sessions have also helped me tremendously. Furthermore, they have an awesome psychiatric nurse practitioner on staff who has really gotten to know me as a patient and didn’t just push pills on me. I would give them infinity stars if I could!!

Honestly they have the best IOP and OP programs and most amazing and helpful therapists. They played a huge part in saving me and helping me start my life over again and I couldn't have done it without the help of their more than helpful and caring staff and the best therapist, Nicole!!!!!! Took me two times to go through their program and I finally got it right, thank you Turnbridge Westport and thank you so much Nicole for helping me find myself again 🙂

I've been to several treatment centers on my path to sobriety. This is the only one that truly cared. The treatment they provide is what sets them apart from the other programs I went to. They even did some family counseling that helped my wife and I repair the marital damage that was done when I was drinking. Thank you Mountainside, Forever Grateful.

My recovery Coach, Christina, is truly amazing. She checks in with me daily and we meet twice a week. We discuss what I am doing for my recovery on a daily basis and potential roadblocks I may encounter as I continue my journey of recovery. She also serves as a wonderful communicator with my loved ones and sharing my progress with them. She is always available for me when I need to reach out. Christina also helps me get back on track and is a great tool to help me rebuild my life. Most importantly, Christina truly cares about my recovery. She is so important in my journey through this new way of life and I highly recommend to all in recovery of looking into a recovery coach. It just may be the last pice you might need to make your recovery a successful one.
