Antioch, IL | Antioch Recovery Club in Antioch, Illinois offers peer-based support for individuals and families navigating drug and alcohol addiction recovery. The club hosts a wide variety of 12-Step meetings, relapse prevention support and community social events in a welcoming, recovery-focused environment. Their mission centers on providing people in recover | Treatments Programs Payment Options | The ARC is one of those rare places that feels like it was carved out of the chaos of the world and built for the sole purpose of giving people a fighting chance.
You walk in and there is this unmistakable feeling of steadiness, like the walls themselves have seen storms and stayed standing so others could find shelter.
The energy is honest. No masks. No performative nonsense. Just people doing real work, telling real stories, and showing up for one another with a kind of grit and loyalty you cannot manufacture.
Meetings run with the kind of clarity and calm you only get when the room is anchored by people who have survived a hundred different versions of hell and decided to turn that into something useful. Wisdom flies around casually, like it is no big deal, even though half the lines you hear could be tattooed on someone’s ribs and still hold meaning twenty years later.
The volunteers and long-timers move with purpose.
They make coffee like it is a sacrament, set up chairs like they are preparing a sacred arena, and greet newcomers with a mix of warmth and keep-it-real that instantly cuts through fear. You do not feel judged. You feel seen. Big difference.
And the atmosphere? It has soul.
Not the fluffy inspirational-poster kind. The lived-in, scarred-up, hard-earned soul that comes from countless nights where someone found the strength to stay alive because a chair was waiting for them and a voice said, “Sit down, you're not alone.”
The Antioch Recovery Club is not fancy. It is not trying to be.
It is solid. It is consistent. It is there when people need it most.
That reliability, that history of people holding each other up, is priceless.
If hope had a clubhouse, it would look a whole lot like this.
If resilience had a mailing address, it would be in Antioch, and the door would probably already be open with the coffee brewing.
The Antioch Recovery Club is community at its most raw, most human, and most necessary.

NIRC has helped me in countless ways and I owe a lot to them for helping me get where I am today. The staff is amazing, they will do anything in their power to support you in recovery and go out of their way to help in anyway they can; they truly want to see you succeed and helped me be sober for 4 years. Groups are helpful in that you are able to be vulnerable and get so much information to help get you through any situation - the therapists are there to help walk you through at any stage of your recovery. Clients are more than supportive and understand what we are all going through; they want to help not only themselves but everyone around them. NIRC is like a little family and with all the help we get, we can all make it through the challenging times.

I am so grateful for Nicasa and the incredible support I received from their team. With the guidance of my caseworker, Ms. Darlene, I was able to make real progress in my life. She not only encouraged me to continue my education, but also helped me get my driver’s license and supported me through the process of having my background expunged. Because of her kindness, professionalism, and dedication, I have been able to put my life back together in ways I never thought possible.
I also want to recognize her supervisor, Ms. Sindey, whose support and understanding made a huge difference. Both of them carry a genuine heart for the community and give their time, energy, and compassion to help families across Lake County.
What makes Nicasa so special is that they are not just another organization—they truly care. They spend countless hours serving people and making a positive impact. I have referred many friends and family to them, and they too have been blessed by the hard work and dedication of Ms. Darlene, Ms. Sindey, and the Nicasa team.
Thank you, Nicasa, for helping me rebuild my life and for all you continue to do for our community.

If staying sober is your goal, this place is second to none. There may be a lot of rules but nothing out of control. Mather's Recovery has been the best place I have been to concerning my OUD and other mental health diagnoses. I am a recovering IV heroin addict for 10 years. My sobriety began 8/5/2021. I was at several MAT clinics to be prescribed methadone that I ended up abusing alongside heroin to supplement my habit for those 10 years. I had a very rough decade as I am sure many of us have while using. I overdosed more times than I could count and was in and out of jail for drugs and theft. I finally got sick and tired of using especially when fentanyl hit the streets along with unknown substances being passed off as heroin. I began detoxing for 6 months to get off of methadone and switch to suboxone which I did albeit I went into PAWS for using fentanyl before my first strip. This was before Mather's at my PCP's office more than 50 miles away. My PCP was extremely cold, impatient and quick to invalidate my feelings and experiences. That's when my wife found Mather's Recovery in Fox Lake. From the moment I walked in I had felt seen. The front desk women are so incredibly kind! It also doesn't look like your typical "clinic " which feels really good. I don't have to worry about hearing people talk about using still or offering me their take homes/drugs. Lorin was assigned to me and she is hands down the most down to earth, genuine person I have ever met during this journey. She makes me feel seen, validated and treats me like an actual human being. I switched from Suboxone to Brixadi and it was the best thing I have done for my sobriety so far. The nurses are so funny and I always leave feeling like I just visited caring friends. Lorin also listened to my struggles with mental health and did not hesitate prescribing me medication that other doctors did not trust me with even though I was sober and those meds were so necessary for my continued stability. I did not have to feel like I had to keep my struggles a secret out of fear of looking like a drug seeker. I have also been struggling with my severe unmanaged ADHD that was proving to be a huge obstacle in my life. Lorin heard my story and changed my life. I have been able to manage my symptoms and get a grip on life which once proved to once be an impossible task. It changed the way my employers and coworkers treat me. Most importantly it saved my 15 year relationship with my wife. I was on the brink of a separation with her. Now she and I have been more understanding of each other and slowly growing closer again. This is my testimony of how Mather's Recovery helped me regain control of my life. I couldn't be more thankful for everyone there. I hope someone reads this and decides to give this wonderful place a chance.

They offer dual diagnosis care, medically supervised detox, intensive inpatient treatment, and aftercare support, including specialized programming for young adults, persons with hearing impairment, pregna | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I was there a few times. The LAST AND FINAL time was about 12 years ago. I was meant to be there. I actually met my husband there. Lol. These people care... they do care, if you care. Counselors can only do so much to help someone who is NOT ready for help. This was state funded. I don't understand all the bad reviews. It's better than Cook County Jail, Lake county Jail and McHenry County Jail. People lived in gutters slept on sidewalks, did anything necessary to fullfull our addictions and then go to a state funded place and complain that it is an awful place. I'll take ATP over active addiction any day. People don't realize how stressful counselors jobs are. They are dealing with some of the worst, entitled people America has to offer. A place can only do so much. They can only help you as much as you want it. If you have found yourself in ATP and are ungrateful for whatever they have to offer, you are not ready. They treated me better than I treated myself. Before he was my husband he was my bf and I got pregnant and we had a baby. When our baby was about 2, I relapsed and he ended relapsing also. He overdosed and almost died. We have never used since. He was meant to be in my life and has changed my life in soooo many ways. That's only because we were both ready to stay clean. The last thing you do is meet a man in a treatment center but God put us together there and now we have an 11 year old that has her Mom ans Dad alive and not just surviving, but thriving. It was one of those Love at first sight things for me. God told me he was meant to be in my life. Married, seperated or just co-parents, he saved my life. My memory is really bad however I still remember seeing him for then first time and I immediately loved him. So, I learned alot from ATP. It's not a full on rehab. It's more of a first step to sobriety.
THANK YOU ATP FOR TAKING CARE OF ME BETTER THAN I CARED FOR MYSELF. YOU TOOK ME IN WHEN I NEEDED IT THE MOST. ILL NEVER FORGET WHERE MY SOBRIETY BECAME A POSSIBILITY AND THEN REALITY. NEVER THOUGHT ID GET CLEAN. EVER. IF I CAN DO IT, ANYONE CAN! THANK YOU AGAIN ATP FOR SHOWING ME RESPECT WHILE I WAS GIVING IT ALSO. The last in the reviews that said she got hit, I guarantee, you got him to that point. I've seen alot of disrespect and patients who think they are owed the world in a STATE FUNDED 2 week stay. (If I remember correctly it was 2 weeks.) YOU get back what you put out into the world.
Thank You ATP for helping me get off the streets of Chicago's West side and taking me in. I had a counselor that really believed in me more than I believed in myself. Thank you!

It’s about a mile south of the historic Cuneo Museum & Gardens and just northwest of Vernon Hills Village Hall. This facility provides a safe, structured space where women with substance use issues and co-occurring | Treatments Programs Payment Options | WRS, what is there to say? I have nothing negative to say about this facility. They treated me better that I treated myself. I learned so much about myself. I still keep all my paperwork from when I was there and every now and again, look back at how my thinking has changed and how much I have matured. I will never forget how amazing all the staff is. They really really do care. Thank you for helping me save my life for my kids. I was sooo blessed and AM STILL so blessed to have such an experience. This place was like nothing else. We / I learned about triggers and the biggest for menwas learning, "When things are starting to break down, Warning signs you are in relapse or self destructive mode or having those behaviors and what to do" My memorynis bad as it's been years since I have been there, but Kendra and Amy, saw something in myself I didn't see. Everyone saw someone special in me except for me. I am so grateful to not be chasing $20 or just surviving place to place with my kids wanting their Mama and wondering where she is and why she isn't here. Now I figure out clothes and hair styles and I work and get to be a real mom without the using OBSESSION They call the "Disease of Addiction". Thank-you WRS!

WRS changed my life. Everyone there gave me the best care and treatment I needed to get and stay sober. If it were not for there help of treatment, the counseling, and the foundation they taught me I would not be sober today. I know I would not be alive. I am so grateful to them for a new lease on life. I am 3.5 years sober today.
