The treatment provided by both Mike and Kim is beyond incredible, they have differing dynamics of counseling that complement eachother in ways that have helped me with so much more than alcoholism rehabilitation. From my experience, if you take the classes seriously and be honest with them, you can learn more about yourself and achieve a level of personal growth greater than a counselor or medication could ever provide.

I have seen some pretty nasty things written here about remedies and just want to clear some things up most of these poor reviews are from those under the influence of addiction and are angry because they won’t follow rules, firstly I know quite a few people who have been there long term (years) with no issues, including myself after years I was sent away one day for being 10 mins late it sucked but I was ok and didn’t oversleep again I learned a lesson, they treat everyone fairly but you have to do what your expected to do being fresh at sobriety is hard and their no pajamas and being there before 9am rules seems to be a big issue for most if you can’t be responsible for your basics how can you keep yourself clean? They will help but won’t make you do anything you won’t cooperate with! This is a rehabilitation center not a place to make friends so stay clean, keep away from others and mind the rules these simple things will take you far…..

I'll start off with the positive review for PHP. I was diagnosed with ARFID from UI Health back in December and a few months later realized that PHP only for eating disorders would help me. Other than Jessica in intake lying to me saying that I'm not covered by insurance, I called here again begging to get help. Maria was so helpful and because of her I started on Monday, June 16 for PHP. She told me that I'm covered until June 30 due to Ascension ending the contract with my insurance. I was told that if I put forth the effort in recovery they would see about keeping me the whole 4-6 weeks. The facility was all around very clean. Dietitians Hailey and Emily were very gentle and understood my accommodations during meals. The therapists and peers in groups were so uplifting. I was really improving when I didn't think it was even possible.
Now on June 25, registration pulled me out of group to tell me that my last day will be June 30. I gave them my health insurance case manager contact information to speak to so I can focus on recovery. They kept refusing to make any effort even though my insurance was open to agree on anything Acension wanted. When I went back to group and lunch I felt like I had no choice but to restrict again from the anxiety and depression. I made an appointment in Chicago for a sensitive procedure early afternoon on June 30. I felt like I really needed breakfast and someone to talk to before I left. After leaving with a graduation certificate on June 27, I get an email from Caitlin saying I will not be allowed to come back on June 30 for breakfast and group. She gave me resources when I have discussed multiple times that nothing else will work unless I stay here in PHP. I have no hope in recovery now unless I wait to fit criteria for inpatient. This is so inconsiderate and degrading of them.
I just got a call from my insurance case manager and ABBH told her that "Two weeks was enough for discharge." How? I was just getting better now I can't stay out of the ER because I'm losing weight too fast.

My experience at Alexian Brothers Inpatient Behavioral Health was extremely disappointing and troubling. Patient rights are not respected here, and the care is far from compassionate. Dr. Shah came across as dismissive and ignorant of his patients’ needs, showing little concern for individual well-being. The nursing staff, particularly both nurses named Cathy, seemed more interested in exerting power than in offering support — their behavior often felt like bullying rather than care.
The therapists also did not create a safe or supportive environment. Instead of helping, they reinforced a culture of intimidation and disrespect. One staff member, Ray, was especially rude and unprofessional, which only added to the feeling of being mistreated.
Overall, this is not a place I would recommend to anyone seeking help. If you are considering inpatient behavioral health treatment, I strongly suggest avoiding this facility.

I had emailed and called a few places before this clinic, without any luck with them answering the questions I had or replying to emails. As I went through the process to meet court, DMV etc. Requirements the people I encountered just had an attitude with people they encountered, sort of a looking down on everyone because they are going through this process. When I called this clinic, from the beginning to the end Sarah responded to every question I had through the process and followed up with either an email or phone call and sometimes both. You never truly know what someone is going through while juggling various demands, so I sincerely appreciate the warmth and kindness of great customer service during difficult times—it's a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. I don't know what these other reviews are even about!! I was a patient in the Chrysalis program. The program did me wonders and I still try to call them whenever I can. It takes effort and commitment. It is a place for everyone, as long as you are going to try. They do treat you human, with clothes, hygiene, LOTS OF SUPPORT, and food. In the Chrysalis program, you get your clothes taken away and are required to wear nurse scrubs, eventually, you are able to gain the PRIVILEGES you have back. I went into this program at the lowest I have ever been, ready to end everything, but this program taught me a sense of commitment and that I have to work for what I want. This program, I will forever be thankful for. The staff was strict but so loving. I was welcomed into a family there that I will always be a part of no matter what. I loved this program and recommend it to everyone.

Such a transformative experience! Naturally, the reviews you read for addiction treatment centers are going to skew negative but don't let that deter you if you believe you need help. Not only did I have an amazing experience with staff, I've built a strong foundation of community among my peers who were also seeking treatment. While encouraged by their use of an evidenced-based model, the incorporation of the 12-steps had me skeptical at first but now I'm fully committed. If you feel the 12 steps aren't for you, they also provide information about alternatives such as SMART Recovery and Recovery Dharma. My one complaint would be that I had chosen to participate in the in-person IOP during intake, but was somehow placed into the virtual IOP. Once it was recognized it was a quick fix and it didn't impact my start date or anything like that.

If you are considering medical assisted detox/recovery I highly suggest giving Trillium on Rochelle a go! There is a wait list, however it's worth the wait and if you are pregnant I know they will expedite the process of getting you in as quickly as possible. I will soon be finished with the program and it's bittersweet as I've grown so close with everyone but I am extremely confident in maintaining my sobriety with all the tools and coping mechanisms I've learned this past year. In closing is like to thank my (2) favorite nurses (you know who you both are❤️) Doctor, my sweetheart counselor whom I will miss dearly, and my girl at the receptionist counter❤️ You all have played a pivotal role in the success of my recovery and rebuilding my life and each of you have a special place in my heart always. I 🙏🏾 this program continues to receive the funding it needs to stay active for years to come as it is an asset to the community, especially those who are looking for help to recover from whatever they may be struggling with. I am beyond grateful to finally have the strength to maintain my sobriety for myself and my family after years of struggling. God bless you all❤️
