This is an outstanding organization. They provide outstanding services for ptsd, depression and other services to assist military personnel and their families. Most of the people within this organization have served in the military and understand what you are going through. If you need assistance for anything give them a call or go by and see them, you'll be glad you did.

I got sober here over 17 years ago. They circled the wagons so I could find my feet. Loved me when I couldn't love myself and shared laughs and tears with me. The coffee bar in whatever building they occupied was always the best place for meetings not scheduled. No matter where they move to it will be my home group and my first step to a better life.

On July 29th , I had to visit the ER at Northwestern's Woodstock facility. Dr John Pacini was the physician on duty that morning and I have to say that if it wasn't for his and his staff's fast , professional, attentive care, I probably wouldn't be here today.Thank you to the whole ER team that was there that morning !

Matthias Academy is the absolute best! We would be lost without it. Our son has severe, global developmental disabilities, and multiple complex medical needs. Even if we had wanted for him to attend another day program, it would not be possible because no other program can deal with his many needs. The Matthias community is fantastic. The staff are all caring, loving and extremely capable. They work hard every day to give my son and all of the other students the best quality of life possible.

I am leaving this review on my brother’s behalf since he has issues typing. My brother stated that he was extremely pleased with the whole team at Northwestern mental health hospital located in Woodstock. He was also pleased with Dr. Bateman as he was very helpful and set up a great follow up plan. He also stated that all the nurses were very friendly and look like they love what they do. Since my brother has sleeping issues, the only thing that he was not pleased with is that they would wake him up between 5 AM and 7 AM to take his vitals. He was pleased with having his own room. The other thing he did not like was the noise from opening and closing doors at all hours of the night and early in the morning. We were shocked to see one star reviews, specially those that did not leave any information as to why they gave one star.

This weekend, there was a mental health crisis with a family member and the beds were full at Northwestern inpatient, so we had to go to another behavioral hospital. This family member had been at Northwestern inpatient and outpatient two other times before this and had a good experience. The inpatient hospital he is at now unfortunately has been a terrible experience compared to our experience at Northwestern. Instead of just leaving a bad review on their page, I figured I’d leave a good review here as well. The experiences we’ve had at Northwestern have been full of compassionate and caring professionals. They kept us updated on our loved one (with consent of course) and seemed to really invest themselves into finding the right care for him. I thought this was how they all were, and after this experience at the other hospital, boy was I wrong. If you need a place that you can trust your loved one going through a mental health crisis will be treated with compassion, this is the place. Thank you for all of your help in the past, and if we end up in this situation again, you will be the first place we go to in the future.

Invaluable community service organization. Help groups for divorce, loss, singles, Therapeutic, as well as individual treatment by some of the finest LCSW I've known. Warm and inviting atmosphere and team. Sliding fee scale. One needn't need Jewish to seek help. You'll find some peace here.

The groups here were good and very welcoming. Here there I met a lot of wonderful people that cared about getting better while helping others as well.

I am 62 years old and not accustomed to posting reviews but I feel it is important to post my personal experience with the Group Home. I lived at the Group Home beginning June 11, 2019 and stayed for approximately 3 months. I had been diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder at Crisis Care Prevention (part of the Lake County Health Department) and was homeless at the time. Given my age, I had lived most of my life with an undiagnosed mental illness and was grateful that there was finally a name, and more importantly, treatment for what was “wrong with Vicki”. At the Group Home I learned countless skills, even very simple skills such as attaining and maintaining structure in my day to day life. I had a bedtime and learned that it was important to “wind down” before going to sleep and I awoke at approximately the same time every morning. Gone are the days of staying up (and sel-medicating) all night long. I began my days rested and willing to learn and grow. Our counselor’s lead groups that are designed to guide you to be active in, and responsible for, your own recovery They also also presented and endless supply of coping skills/tools to help me manage my mental illness. Furthermore, these skills are presented in such a way that I finally understood the importance and concepts of what coping skills actually are and how much they can help me. I had responsibilities such as chores within the Group Home, I had peers, people similar to me, and found that this was a place that I fit in. I learned patience and acceptance and I learned, at the age of 59, how to be a valued member of my community, no matter what community I am living in. I was also introduced to the New Hope Recovery Center in Zion and Waukegan (or “drop in center”) where I continue to work my program of recovery and continue to be active within this community to this day. Nearly 3 years ago my life almost ended. I had hit the worst “bottom” in my life and had no hope for anything good. Getting a diagnosis, taking my medication, being teachable, living and learning in the group home, and going to the drop in center have all been instrumental as far as me being equipped with the necessary skills and tools I use every day to live my best life. In these past 3 years, I have been living a full life, a life filled with joy, hope and the possibility of a bright future. I recommend the Group Home for anyone in need and cannot say enough “good” about my experience there and how it changed my life in so many positive ways. I now live on my own but have a strong connection to all the people who continue to empower me to continue on my journey of recovery.

I received counseling there a few years ago for myself and then for me and my wife. Bob was extremely professional and helped us out. I didn't put 100% effort into the therapy so I can't say it didn't work. I highly recommend Holbrook. I wish I could go back.

Great place to go and fellowship. I have experienced deliverance and the love of God at this place. The people whom i call friends live there.
