Payment assistance and a sliding fee scale are available to those w | Treatments Programs Payment Options | After one year of being on a self pay recovery program where the Dr only cared about money and keeping patients on an extremely high dose to keep them addicted, I was referred to this program. I actually FEEL like a patient instead of a client and there's a HUGE difference between the two. My counselor, Dr, nurses, and the entire team all work together to help you achieve goals to be successful during recovery. Like any program, it only works if YOU want it to. You will only maintain sobriety if YOU want to. No one can force you to get sober, that's a decision you have to make for yourself. This place offers groups, job training, and other resources to make recovery as smooth as possible. Counselors check in with you on a monthly basis but are available for you every day the clinic is open. Wether you just need to talk or increase/decrease your dose your counselor is there to help. The Doctor is very kind and ethical when it comes down to doing what's best for you and your long-term recovery and success working your way through the program. All of the nurses and staff have become like a 2nd family to me, helping me with any andn everything I need. I've never had one bad experience on this program and I feel deeply cared for. If you are considering medical assisted detox/recovery I highly suggest giving Trillium on Rochelle a go! There is a wait list, however it's worth the wait and if you are pregnant I know they will expedite the process of getting you in as quickly as possible. I will soon be finished with the program and it's bittersweet as I've grown so close with everyone but I am extremely confident in maintaining my sobriety with all the tools and coping mechanisms I've learned this past year. In closing is like to thank my (2) favorite nurses (you know who you both are❤️) Doctor, my sweetheart counselor whom I will miss dearly, and my girl at the receptionist counter❤️ You all have played a pivotal role in the success of my recovery and rebuilding my life and each of you have a special place in my heart always. I 🙏🏾 this program continues to receive the funding it needs to stay active for years to come as it is an asset to the community, especially those who are looking for help to recover from whatever they may be struggling with. I am beyond grateful to finally have the strength to maintain my sobriety for myself and my family after years of struggling. God bless you all❤️

Lots to say! I'm a physician, and was at PSI for 8 weeks in early 2025. Their main values are creating a sense of community and belonging, and encouraging self-reflection and self-discovery. I felt they were very trusting, encouraging gradual autonomy in the myriad available directions for assisted and self help, and in other ways like encouraging us to visit home or explore Chicago. While I was stretched financially, they were extremely charitable in ways I didn't expect, deepening my trust that they had my best interests over their financial interests. I know some people have understandable skepticism of rehab facility priorities, but you absolutely will not get ripped off here, and they transparently explained anything I asked about.
They listen intently to feedback, and the hours and expectations are reasonable - if anything lenient to promote independence. The high-rise apartments have beautiful views, great location and amenities, and are clean and well-supplied. They handle Covid and health situations safely, and while I'd prefer no roommate, it does enhance mutual help and community. In fact, I stay in regular touch with people because of it. Chicago's expensive, but this was an investment in my future happiness, purpose, and fitting into the life I want.
The program is well-designed and comprehensive, and I urge taking the customized treatment plan seriously, as it was a massively useful way to tailor various resource exposures to my needs and interests. They encouraged open-minded experimentation with a wide variety of treatment resources, resulting in a diverse toolkit to utilize upon discharge. This helped me handle stress, cravings (which will always pass), and generally be able to quickly reframe my outlook and adapt. Pouring your honest heart into the How It Was assignment is extremely revealing and cathartic, family counseling and resources were a relief, it seems everyone loves the small group sessions in which challenging supportively is favorable, there are several AA alternatives, and PSI was very supportive after I left. My attorney said the letter written for me was the best he'd seen, reflecting the program quality. For those of us who tend to isolate, the treatment community was really lovely, with regular community events for socializing, and open-door access to the various therapists.
I want to especially say that I felt they genuinely cared about and got to know me, which made an enormous difference in my willingness to trust them and buy into the program. They got very excited when I made progress and develop insights, which really helps cultivate a sense of achievement. Special shoutouts to therapists Mike and Tim, but I had excellent, instructive, and helpful interactions with literally everyone working there; they're all great people. They tried hard to set me up for a smooth transition back into my life, and should probably all get raises. Being here helped reorient my life, equipping me with confidence to handle both known and unknown future adversities. I was surprised to cry when I said goodbye, but it was all so therapeutic and helpful that I did. I even feel teary gratitude writing this.
Finally, I'd like to say that we get out of this sort of experience what we put into it, and attitude makes a big difference. If you think you have a problem, then this is a great place to start solving it. If you don't think you have a problem, then any rehab is going to be a pain. I know that acceptance is hard, but we usually land in this situation for an obvious reason. I guess I'd say a seed has to split in order to sprout. While the splitting part isn't always fun, I felt comfortable here to be able to grow, which made me feel proud and capable. Try like hell to avoid regret, cynicism, and distrust, as I've learned and seen in this context it holds us back. Instead, accept and commit, because it will pay off. Don't worry about how long you may be here, and just get everything that you can out of it while you are. Best wishes on your recovery.

Such a transformative experience! Naturally, the reviews you read for addiction treatment centers are going to skew negative but don't let that deter you if you believe you need help. Not only did I have an amazing experience with staff, I've built a strong foundation of community among my peers who were also seeking treatment. While encouraged by their use of an evidenced-based model, the incorporation of the 12-steps had me skeptical at first but now I'm fully committed. If you feel the 12 steps aren't for you, they also provide information about alternatives such as SMART Recovery and Recovery Dharma. My one complaint would be that I had chosen to participate in the in-person IOP during intake, but was somehow placed into the virtual IOP. Once it was recognized it was a quick fix and it didn't impact my start date or anything like that.

I am a former employee. I worked in the admissions department. I was there for three years. The last few months of my time there, I had a new director. Me and my other two coworkers were really excited to meet her, but she turned out to be the worst boss ever. I’m not trying to be dramatic, I’m literally telling you exactly how it is. She came in and wanted to make very unnecessary changes. She wanted to change our schedules that we did not sign up for, she wanted to change our process for time off without corporate’s permission, and there are a few other things, but this would take all day if I went through them all. We also caught her in a lot of lies, but anytime we confronted her about it. She would just deny it. There was no compromising with this woman. It was her way or no way at. The thing that really got me the most, was that we have to work from home during the evenings until 10 PM. She started to help us out with that but then informed us that she couldn’t do that at all in the month of May. All because she is a track coach. Well I was the last one left and was not about to work every single night in May, so that’s when I bounced. I knew if I did it once, she’s gonna want me to do it again and again and again. She’s a very selfish woman she only thinks about herself. You do have the opportunity to work from home, but when you need to, she throws a fit. It’s OK for her to work from home though. There were a few times when my kids were sick or my coworkers had a sick kid or something was going on where they needed to be home and had the opportunity to work from home, but she would say no, and we had to use our vacation time. But if she needed to work from home for any reason, she was allowed to. Is that really fair? No. It’s not.
When she came in, she had three coworkers that were trained and knew what they were doing, and she ran all three of them off in a matter of three months. What does that tell you? Apparently the CEO doesn’t see an issue because she’s still there. Valerie is the worst person I have ever worked for. She talked so bad about my other coworkers to me that I knew she was talking bad about me as well. Long behold, she was. That’s fine though, I definitely talk shit about her as well. 😉 She is not a team player and takes all the credit that you work for. Not only did she treat her team bad, she talked to the BD team like complete trash. I even caught her talking to some of the clients in disrespect. Her job is to literally bring clients in to save their lives.
Long story short if you want a job here, I would definitely go for any other department besides admissions. Unless you like being treated like shit. Oh, and also before I forget because apparently nobody knows about this, admissions get a quarterly bonus. The other departments do not. I never thought that that was fair, and I still don’t. You guys should probably change that.

I've been here twice... Certainly the best 28 day program in the area. Two amazing counselors who educate residence on addiction and push and motivate them to be better. I am grateful to this place however ashamed that I relapsed again after two stays here. They certainly did there best... And do not take into account the bad reviews. If you've been to several programs and treatment centers around Chicago then you know HAS is one of the better ones.
HAS, Keep up the good work and thank Hose for giving me so many chances, you guys help those who want it. I hope I can visit on better terms someday!
