This facility is just amazing! Truly felt like everyone cared about me, and I can honestly say I trusted everyone in there. Trust is very hard for me, but the adult program and the staff allowed me to be myself with no judgement. I'm trying so hard to follow the rules and not name any staff but will give a broad review. Right when you walk in the staff is friendly, always smiling which in turn made me smile. The supervisor is amazing; the head of the counselors who leads the group therapy is one of the best people I ever met. The staff that lead the groups cared about me, and it was genuine, and they are so smart and fun. From the psychiatrist to my therapist everyone was on the same page. I just want to say thank you to everyone there from the bottom of my heart!

I had a wonderful experience with my program! Everyone was amazing and i truly wouldn’t be in such a good place in my life without the help from this facility! Life feels beautiful again and i couldn’t be more thankful! Brad is a wonderful human and you can really feel how much everyone there cares. Wow....that is really the word that comes to mind when writing this review. The staff is very attentive and deeply care for you while under their care. They create a plan for you based on how you are handling the transition rather than having some boiler plate this is how we do things approach.
The loging areas are nice, ur not staying at the Rittz, but ur also not staying at a Motel 8 either. Fresh linen daily and a somewhat set schedule for the time you go be bed, id recommend getting all the sleep you can so you have energy for the gym daily which personally, was the favorite part of my stay.
As someone whom is now nearing 15 Months Sober from RCA being my 1st and God willing last recovery center, I would absolutely bring one of my loved ones or family members here if they needed to get clean. The facility is 1st class, the food is good enough and both Amber and Henry do not get enough credit for what they do for everyone.
So yes, I would absolutely recommend this place if you are looking to get clean. There's a life after years of using and I gotta say its pretty great. RCA will absolutely provide you the tools for success, but the rest is on you to want it badly enough to follow the program and trust the staff.

Suncloud has been a life saver. The staff was and is always welcoming and caring. One of the things that has been the most helpful for me has been the aftercare, follow ups and continued connection I get with them. It has become part of my family now and its a lifestyle. One of the things I lost in my life was a sense of being part of my community and having that desire to isolate from people. I dont feel that way anymore because of Suncloud. Now I have friends and people I really trust. Which is huge to me with my trust issues. Suncloud taught me that I cannot do this alone and showed me that I wasnt alone. This is a lifelong journey and my life is better now because I chose to do something about it, and Suncloud gave me the tools I needed. So I want to let anyone know who is looking into treatment Banyan was such a fantastic experience for me. I owe them such a debt of GRATITUDE. Banyan in lisle iL, is absolutely amazing! From the 30 day residential to the PHP THEY WERE SO WECOMING! The classes and groups are great. PHP is awesome to they take us to church, grocery shopping, Walmart, and we do events!!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone getting sober.

Symetria is absolutely the best! I've been a patient at Symetria for the past six years, and my experience has been consistently positive. Every staff member I've interacted with has been courteous, friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. They truly make you feel comfortable and respected.
While Symetria does require frequent appointments, it's important to understand that many of these requirements are mandated by the State of Illinois and are beyond their control.
After six years of receiving care here, I can confidently say that Symetria is an outstanding organization with an amazing team of people who genuinely care about their patients. I highly recommend them!

I choose to take part of the Symetria program voluntarily and it was one of the best decisions of my life! Not only are the staff like family, so are the individuals that pick Symetria too. Now days, customer service is pathetic and people are rude and most push you out the door, but not here. This place has the warm feeling like "The door is always open", and "how can we help you", We are here for you, it doesn't matter the time or the day, we care about you. You're a shining star and a success, not a failure. This place is secure, confidential, clean and has several options to help you along your journey. You are able to volunteer your time, make new friends and can help save a life, change a life and feel proud of who you are. Brian and John from Naperville are excellent group leaders (you are lucky if you get to meet them), and (Chris from Vernon Hills is a great counselor, who will make the time to ensure your needs are met). Symetria creates an environment where people feel safe, supported, and valued. The morning IOP group supported me through the hardest part of my life and I will forever be grateful for the amazing people I met. I think each one of us in the group looked forward to our time together in that healing place. Our counselor Brian is an expert in his field. He led our group through many difficult topics and conversations and did so with enormous compassion. Individual sessions with Brian were always insightful. Brian has a unique way of making each of his clients feel good about themselves. Today I went for my annual Medicare wellness check. Very pleasant experience with the staff and Dr. Bitting. My first visit with Dr. Bitting, comprehensive chair side exam. I was very comfortable with her mannerism. Her questions about my health and family history displayed as true concern for me. I appreciated that she addressed my concerns regarding diabetes and cholesterol. Dr. Bitting then agreed to order bloodwork. Then also schedule a follow visit on a week to review the findings. The nurse who did my blood draw soooooo very kind, gentle. A pleasure to see someone enjoy taking care of others, also she enjoys her job.

The Joliet Symetria location saved my life!! What a great bunch of people!! They work with you, and guide you through everything!! Heck Tonette even got me an Uber one time because my car was broke down and I was going to miss my dosing. I know I have heard good and bad about Symetria but this location (Joliet) goes out of their way to make sure patients and good. Care Addiction Center is appropriately named, because you legitimately get actual care. Their thoughtful approach to recovery, combined with genuine care for their clientele, is unmatched. Reaching out to CAC is easily one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. They have fostered an environment that not just sets you up for success, but helps you grow, both personally and interpersonally. For the first time in my life, I feel fully equipped with the necessary tools to subdue my disease.

I see a lot of negative reviews on here and my experience might have been different due to my age (late 30s). I wanted to be at TK. I didn't have someone make the decision for me, although my husband was very supportive.
Out of all the staff, there were only 2 I didn't like. Not that they were bad, just a clash with our personalities.
I have epilepsy, it's chronic and active. I had to go home to have surgery (a replacement battery for the device that helps control my seizures). I was gone for about 36 hours. The staff was great with my seizures and with my surgery.
I thought I was going to need to go back when my husband passed away, but I made it through. A lot of that I can credit TK with for giving me the tools to work with.
The only problem I really had was leaving. Leaving was terrifying because that safety net just vanished. That is one thing I think the staff needs to prepare you a bit better for.
I've been healthy since leaving. Sure, I still get the feelings/urges on occasion but I created my own safety net. I can control the urges. I'm actually rather proud of myself.
PS - If any of the former staff ever reads this "Meany Mo-Mo" you know who you are. Thank you, for all you did. Your patience, your help, and just being there when I needed it. You literally are the best. <3

I stayed in Crisis Residential for a month (I got an extended week) and I learned so much and had SUCH a great time, I HIGHLY recommend this place if you're in need of a timeout. Lots and lots of groups, very well structured, the rules are really easy to understand and follow, and the staff genuinely cares about how you're feeling during your stay as well. You get to see your psychiatrist once a week to make sure your medication is helping, and the psychiatrists they have on staff are wonderful, as well as your therapist and if you're in the substance abuse program, they're kind too, from what I've heard.
Once again, thank you Ecker, for helping me learn to manage my anxiety and various other symptoms. You've done a great job for a lot of people! 10/5 stars!

Finding this treatment center was the moment everything changed for me. Before I walked through their doors, I felt completely lost, consumed by my addiction, and convinced that a healthy, happy life was out of reach. This center didn't just help me get sober and off of hard drugs; they gave me the tools, support, and hope I needed to rebuild my entire life from the ground up.
What sets this place apart is the incredible human connection. The staff, counselors, and medical team treat you with unwavering respect, dignity, and empathy from day one. In my darkest moments, when I couldn't see a way forward, they held the belief in my recovery until I was strong enough to hold it for myself. Their personalized, compassionate approach made me feel safe, heard, and truly understood rather than just another case file.
I am writing this with a profound sense of peace and a clear mind that I haven't experienced in years. Saying "thank you" feels far too small for what they have done for me—they truly saved my life, and I will be forever grateful for this second chance. If you or someone you love is struggling, please know that healing is possible, and this is the place to find it.
With that being said, It's unsettling to read some of these negative reviews knowing that they are the farthest thing from the truth. Unfortunately it's all too common a trait for someone like myself - to make everything else the problem except me. It's sad to know that these people leaving bad reviews didn't give themselves a chance by accepting what is so simply laid out in front of you the moment you walk through the doors of ECS ~ A WAY OUT! A better life. Better relationships. A comfort with myself that I didn't know was possible being sober/drug free. A desire to participate in society as a functioning human being! These were all things that did not exist less than a year ago but do now. But if I didn't make the decision that I wanted things to change the moment I walked in the door, then I'm almost certain that I would not be here today. ECS never lied to me or sugarcoated my problems. They never mistreated me. They simply expected me to respect my peers and the staff just as they did to me the moment I walked through the door. And I thank God I did! Some of us just simply aren't ready. And when that's the case we find them unable to accept accountability and work hard to change. I did find it hilarious how one of the "negative" reviews unintentionally said something positive by saying "these reviews are by people who work here" By saying that he admitted just one more way that Dr. Sharma helps us out! (I have never worked at ECS but I read through them all. And out of the 100 plus reviews only a handful are from employees but their voice counts just as much, if not more). But it is very cool that some people go through ECS and then are trusted enough to be employed by the very people who know their darkest days. Kudos ECS!

I cannot say enough amazing things about this office. I have seen 3 doctors and now currently see Emily Jensen NP. All have been wonderful and actually care about getting to the root cause. Sarah G. is quite possibly one of the nicest, most caring, most capable, smartest, and trustworthy professionals I’ve ever seen. The office staff can be pleasant, the setting is confidential, & the payment/billing process is streamlined & simplified for your convenience. When I first went there I was quite nervous & inquired about a few things I was unsure of. Sarah explained them all in full which is something I’ve never received at any other medical facility. The staff there are always on top of things when I arrive. They know what my care entails & are quick to assist in anyway possible. I was recently in inpatient care for a manic episode. I've been to 2 other hospitals in other parts of Illinois. I kept calling this place the "Ritz Carlton" or at the very least, a 4 star hotel.
The hospital food is fantastic. After your first 24 hours, most people are able to go over to the cafeteria to select your own food. The lunch & dinner menu were the same, but they had an amazing variety (e.g. Chicago style hot dogs & beefs, a taco salad, etc.) They always had available: 2 soups, pizza & chicken tenders, snacks, drinks. They had plenty of snacks in the fridge and in the drawers in the unit as well. I gained like 5 lbs in 2 weeks, eating more/ better than I usually do.
I met with my psychiatrist daily, and on the weekends, there was a fill in person to check in. There were 3 or 4 groups per day. They had plenty of coloring pages, books in their library, DVDs to watch, Soduku puzzles, etc to keep busy in between activities.
I really felt the staff were all very nice. Their job probably isn't easy, especially when a new patient comes in and is agitated or aggressive. I only noticed them getting frustrated when someone would repeatedly disrespect the staff.
We did only get to go outside once per day, and only if the weather was OK. That was also the only time we had access to music.
I felt like they are a bit more conservative in terms of keeping you a set amount of time. I stayed inpatient for 2 weeks, but that's likely because they were adjusting my meds.
I had the option of going to Linden Oaks or Good Samaritan. I'm very glad I chose Linden Oaks!

I'm an alcoholic, have been for years. I got treatment before I decided to give the Gateway, Iopc,a try. Im not religious and religion isnt pushed at GateWay Iopc, which is why i gave it a try. My Dr suggested it so I decided to do that treatment after my detox. Also my counselor Dan in the Joliet office is a great counselor. I, like most people are closed off when going thru this process. Eventually you will begin to open up when you see there is several other people dealing and going thru a similar situation as yourself. And believe me Im the most closed off person there is. You may not agree with all of it, as I didn't, but there are parts that's help. Everyone is dealing with something different and everyone is affected differently. Focus on yourself and don't let outside influences stop you from what you want.
