This place was exactly what I needed to start my sober journey. Between the group classes, counselors and staff I was given the tools I needed to continue my sober life. The cottages were comfortable and welcoming, medical staff was also attentive and caring. Facilities were clean and updated as well, can’t say thank you to all who helped me enough! The alumni continue to do monthly check ins and are responsive to any questions you may have.

I want to say I appreciate all the staff at footprints to recovery a huge shout out to all the pht and case management hear beaky has ben a really great support for my recovery and gave me so many tools I need to be a successful person in life I love all u staff hear at footprint

I've been in treatment a few times, however the excitement I had this last time, literally the last time as claint. They say recovery is fun, now I understand

To put it simply.......They helped save my very life and taught me how to live a good life. I am in there debt.

I entered The Gateway Foundation on October 31st 1996, my life had become unmanageable up until that point due to my addiction to cocaine. Thanks to Tyrone Anderson, who was an addiction counselor there at that time, and my mother, my life took a dramatic turn. Upon entering the facility my first 10 minutes after walking through the door they took a picture of me right there at the front door,I later learned why one year later. They admitted me right in the middle of a big Halloween party they were having that night ,my first thought was,.well alright.! this place is going to work out just fine.! walked right into a party right off the street. But oh boy, what a change of mind I had the next few days. I thought I had seen all the tricks in the book after completing basic training in the military,.USAF at that ! but my experiences at Gateway Foundation for one whole year,.OMG ! I hadn't seen nothing. I thought that I had done every kind of menial chores from mopping ,and cleaning ,scrubbing ,you name it ,while going through basic training in the military,.ha ! And my drill sergeant would shudder if he had to endure what we called at Gateway during that time a 'smoking". Basically it's when you mess up or violate a rule, you are commanded to go down in the basement, right below the meeting hall, where everybody can hear you get your feelings blowed out your mind, and heart by your fellow classmates in one of the loudest, meanest super aggressive verbal reprimands you have ever had in your life,.but it does get your attention though,.LOL. I'm saying all this to say that as addicts, we sometimes endure much worse treatment on the mean streets and environments of drug and alcohol addiction, but we are not discouraged by not so friendly people out there to still acquire our drugs of choice. Thanks to the environment of peer assisted treatment I received at Gateway, it helped me face the reality of life on the streets as an addict. I'm not saying that everything worked out perfect after leaving Gateway, we all struggle through the up's and downs of recovery, it's knowing how to get back on the right track, how to stay on the right track,, where and how to seek help when we fall that's important to continuing your life of sobriety. Thanks to the educational and therapeutical experiences I received from Gateway, I can proudly say that I am a happy, successful and drug free person to this very day.and I look nothing like that admission picture from 28 years ago.I encourage all who read this ,if you or someone you know is struggling with substance abuse issues, consider getting the help you need from The Gateway Foundation, I'm thankful my family did it for me. I stayed in Crisis Residential for a month (I got an extended week) and I learned so much and had SUCH a great time, I HIGHLY recommend this place if you're in need of a timeout. Lots and lots of groups, very well structured, the rules are really easy to understand and follow, and the staff genuinely cares about how you're feeling during your stay as well. You get to see your psychiatrist once a week to make sure your medication is helping, and the psychiatrists they have on staff are wonderful, as well as your therapist and if you're in the substance abuse program, they're kind too, from what I've heard. Once again, thank you Ecker, for helping me learn to manage my anxiety and various other symptoms. You've done a great job for a lot of people! 10/5 stars!

The people seem compassionate

Ecker Center has helped me so much with my mental health and addiction over the past year. From my amazing therapist Elora, to my social worker Margie whose helped me with resources and applications to get financial assistance, to my psychiatrist Dr. Anwar who always seems to listen and care. Even the nursing staff prior to seeing the doctor have always been kind and diligent. While the facility it self might not be glamorous, the staff is impeccable, and worth the wait if you can get in.

The entire staff from the ER to my room for 2 days was excellent. At all times I was treated with exceptional staff.

Went to inpatient outpatient and the halfway house program next door after inpatient and did my outpatient simultaneously i ended up getting a job and it was very overwhelming at times having to work do my outside meetings for my recovery in-house meetings that are usually 12 step based which are mandatory also the outpatient and juggling them all but honestly it was so uplifting and life changing it shocked me into having no choice but to make it happen or go back to being homeless and living on the streets I was tired of the way I had lived all my life gangs drugs crime and I doubled down got closer to God and my lord and Savior Jesus Christ and I did it I have a full time job make close to 22$ an hour have stayed clean im about to complete the minimum time span to finish successfully as well as IOP and I just got my license back a car and im about to move in my new place with my wife im so greatful for this program and the things I learned from life itself as well as this program thank you so much to all the staff that guided and helped me along the journey

My son has been in the rehab for a month and now in the recovery...he really likes it and for the 1st time i see him wanting to .ove forward
