Mahaska Health provided excellent care during my husband’s surgery, and everyone we interacted with was kind, capable, and attentive. When our car broke down the day before, a hospital employee who had just finished her shift noticed our situation and helped us get the vehicle safely into a parking spot. After my husband’s surgery the next day, a member of the admissions team went out of her way to arrange transportation for us without us even asking. Those thoughtful gestures made a stressful time so much easier. We’re truly grateful for the care and kindness we received.

I am so glad I moved all my care here. Every time I come in, everyone helps me. The volunteers, receptions, lab techs, radiology techs, CT techs, my doctors. I would be lost without these people. They listen and have given my hope back. As I say healthcare is not a one size fits all. It's a partnership. Just to be heard and taken seriously, huge. I let them know how much I appreciate them. I have been using this clinic for a long time and have had nothing but good experiences. The staff has always been great and I've received the care I needed when I needed it. I feel the VA gets bad press because of a few isolated incidents and people giving bad reviews tend to be the loudest. I know of a few other veteran friends of mine that have had great service as well from the VA.

FreshPath Recovery came through for me when I thought I was outta options. From day one, the vibe was chill and welcoming — no judgment, just real ones who get what you’re going through. The staff? Straight-up lifesavers. They kept it honest, pushed me when I needed it, and always had my back. What hit different here was how personal everything felt. They weren’t just clocking in — they actually cared. The detox was tough, no lie, but they made sure I felt supported every step. I walked out with a clear head, a stronger mindset, and a plan. If you’re ready to bounce back, FreshPath is the move.

On behalf of our family, we want to express our deepest gratitude for the care and compassion shown to Gary Foster during his final days. From the helicopter transport team who brought him to St. Luke’s Hospital, to the physicians, nurses, and social workers in the ICU, every person we encountered treated him with dignity, respect, and genuine kindness. We are especially grateful for the way you kept us informed, answered every question with patience, and even took moments to speak to our dad as if he could hear you. That compassion meant more than words can fully express. We are also deeply thankful to the Iowa Donor Network team for their guidance, support, and care throughout the donation process. Knowing that he was able to give to others has brought our family a measure of comfort in an incredibly difficult time. The compassion and humanity shown by everyone involved will stay with us always. Thank you for taking such good care of him and for treating our family with such respect and kindness. We can not say more about your care, Tanja (wife), Torrey (son), and Ryne (son)

Barring medical needs that sent me to St, Luke’s, ALL staff were pleasant and professional. From top to bottom the care was phenomenal to me as an individual, not by my patient number. Beyond hospitable by providing anything I could possibly need and they even gave my husband an evening snack bag so that he wouldn’t have to leave my side. I appreciated the communication between the rounding physician and surgical doctors and myself so I maintained autonomy in my own healthcare decisions. 10/10 stars!

I had a very positive experience at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. The doctors, nurses, and entire medical staff were incredibly professional, compassionate, and attentive throughout the treatment process. They took the time to clearly explain every step, answered all questions patiently, and made sure we felt comfortable and well cared for. The level of care and dedication shown by the medical team was truly impressive. From the moment we arrived until the treatment was completed, everything was handled efficiently and with great kindness. The hospital facilities were clean, well organized, and the staff made sure the patient’s comfort and safety were always a priority. I’m very grateful for the excellent care we received. Thank you to the entire team at St. Luke’s for their commitment to patient care and for making a difficult situation much easier.

Overall I've had good service from my practitioner. I mainly go to the pain management clinic. Megan is great! Very professional and easy to talk to. A few years ago, I had physical therapy there with I think it was Chris, not real sure but he was easy to work with. The only thing that I really don't like is how far it is. Now, I have mobility issues and know I wouldn't be able to walk all that way, so I choose to go elsewhere. Another issue I had was with one of the doctors at the Cityville clinic. He kept on insisting that I was faking my breathing problems, because he didn't understand what I was trying to say. They put me in a room, and I waited for 2 hours, all while having a difficult time breathing and on top of that, I started to have a panic attack. I had to call my boyfriend that was waiting outside in the car to bring me a rescue inhaler and my anxiety medication. After I calmed down a bit, I told the nurse I was leaving. I even think the doctor claimed I was only there at the clinic to get meds. He claimed I was showing signs of med seeking behavior. Uh-huh, I call BS, NEVER! I HAVE NEVER sought out medication from an Urgent Care Clinic or an ER because of a habit. All I know is, I think that was the last time I went to that clinic. Also, the Dental Clinic - Who has the time to sit at the dentist for a "wish you the best of luck-cattle call" to see if you make it on the magical list to be seen that morning/day? Absolutely ridiculous! Come on- can't you do better than that? But as I started out with for the most part, I've had good experiences.

Broadlawns has done amazing things for me in both their Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic and even more maybe in Physical Therapy. I have been to PT there 4 times for 4 separate issues. (I have a chronic illness.) I have also done physical therapy elsewhere several times and twice before for one of the same issues at another provider. Broadlawns PT blows them all out of the water. I have received life-changing physical therapy for pain I have tried to manage for years ta none of this other PT seemed to touch. Before Broadlawns I had started to think PT was useless and now it has made a huge difference in my life!
