Regarding the walk-in intake, So far I have done intake and the process for that was long. They started at 10am but I had already been there since 8:12am waiting. I was the last person they accepted that day totalling 4 of us. I had to wait until each person in front of me was done, about 45 mins to 1 hour each. I was there a total of about 5 hours beginning to end. At the end you schedule a follow-up and it was 3 weeks out. Once you check in theoretically you could leave but about 2 hours in the called me in to verify my financial info. So I just stayed.

I have been to this hospital since I was a child and continue to be followed by great providers and no words can express how grateful I am for the care I have received and if I could give back in anyway I would. The doctors and nurses and pharmacists do what they can to provide the best care possible for patients and it clearly shows. I would like to thank transplant team and genetics for everything and continued care and support. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because of aftercare from transplant team when it comes to medical insurance. They do their best and I fully respect and admire them for everything they do. When it comes to the nurse coordinators Sometimes patients need to guide them as they do not always know - depending on who is assigned to you. When it comes to dealing with medical insurance it has become so difficult especially for getting medications that are essential like Aranesp and other similar meds which are ridiculously expensive. The workaround should not be so difficult and I don’t know why there is sometimes hesitation from the team which is kind of frustrating. It’s understandable that no one likes to deal with insurance companies but this needs to improve.

I had a week long stent at this hospital recently, in particular Nurse Hughes at short stop was wonderful. Medical staff is treated harshly, and we should all take a moment to truly appreciate those who do for others more often. No mistakes were made, but even if they had been we're all only human. Nurse Hughes thank you, and I hope nothing but bright days in your future

I am deeply grateful to Dr. Garth Summers, Dr. Blaise Waller, and the entire labor and delivery team for the exceptional care I received. On August 16th, I delivered my twin boys, Ozzy and Jameson, and the entire process was seamless from start to finish. Dr. Summers expertise and calming confidence made it possible for me to have a natural delivery, even with my second twin arriving breech. His skill and judgment ensured a smooth and safe experience, and I could not have asked for better care. Both my husband and I hold Dr. Summers in the highest regard and are truly appreciative of him and his entire team.

You won't find a better place for your mental health needs. Dr. Sanchez is the absolute best there is! I can't thank him enough for all he has done, and continues to do for me. He takes his time, really listens, and cares deeply about his patients. I have worked with a couple of the therapists. One, Rob, is no longer there, having gotten more education and moved away. He was amazing! Mike is awesome, and I am so thankful to have him on my team. He really cares, listens, and is just great! The nurses are also caring, compassionate, and really take an interest in you personally. The office staff is also the best. They work hard to see that your needs are met. As you can tell if you've read my entire review, I wouldn't go anywhere else! Thank you Great River Mental Health for ALL you do!!

Quincy Recovery gave me more than just a place to detox — they gave me a real shot at starting over. Everything felt calm and steady from day one. The staff was compassionate, but they also knew how to keep things structured so I didn’t fall off track. They weren’t just treating symptoms — they helped me figure out the why behind it all. You show up all burned out and numb, and somehow they make you feel like there’s still a way out. Detox was tough, but they walked me through it step by step — no pressure, no judgment, just real ones helping you get your life back.Everything felt personal. They weren’t tryna slap a generic fix on my problems — they built a plan that actually made sense for me. If you’re serious about changin’ things up and finally getting some peace, Quincy’s the move.

The care that I received was spectacular. Yet, being in the ER overnight before a bed was available was interesting. To hear the staff at the counters and the Chief of Police comments about DEI was mind blowing, upsetting, and sad. The comments and how they felt were mean, ignorant, and callus about it made my time in the ER extremely uncomfortable while I was being treated by the kind nurses. I asked questions. The response I received was nothing less than racist. I was glad that I was treated by nurses that were professional, kind, and concerned about the care of a Veteran, but to the others, a disgrace. To compare DEI to Affirmative action was truly mind blowing and ignorance. That's just part of the conversations I've heard. SMH

I have been to the VA in St Louis New Orleans all over the country of many different VA's. Iowa City and Fayetteville Arkansas are probably two of the best. I only had one bad experience at Iowa City when an asshole doctor didn't want to do his job in the ER. But everyone else there is awesome. I've received more help from Iowa City than any other hospital or VA care facility in the country. I don't live in the area anymore but I still travel over 100 mi to use Iowa city's VA. After nine months my child is discharged. I was scared to send her but it's been the best decision for our difficult situation. Don't read too much into the negative reviews, the kids don't like that they have rules to follow which is why they are there and they don't like the way things are done but it's tough love. Are things as perfect as we'd like? No, we still have struggles but our kid is diagnosed and on the proper meds. If what's being taught in the house they live in (world views of those working there) don't line up with your personal values, don't be afraid to speak up. Because of our feeling so lost and desperate, we were too afraid to say anything. I finally said what I thought and I said my kid wasn't allowed to participate, I sure wish I'd have said it sooner! When you are all out of options and completely exhausted, send your kid, it'll be OK. We had 10 years of therapists and I wish I could take Alex with us! Alex, you are the Best, you take no crap!❤️

Exemplary health care. Every American should have the healthcare the Veterans Administration gives to our veterans.
