Powell saved my life. Was there during Christmas of 2024 and it was the best thing I could’ve ever done for myself. Amazing 24/7 nurse staff that literally saved my life in the middle of the night. An amazing counselor team, men and women’s therapists that were actually some of the easiest therapists I’ve ever gotten to talk to. Couldn’t recommend a better place to help you recover. And honestly, the people giving one star reviews and such are people that do not want to recover. This place is not a hotel or a spa that’s gonna rub your feet through the process. You are going to be sober 100% if you do what they tell you and that’s that. When I was there I would see people constantly go up to ER (needed) and come back a week later looking so much healthier and active. Never ever ever would I imagine Powell to turn people away unless they were completely full or even recommend someone to go somewhere else. I said it already but I’ll say it again, these people did not want to get sober, period.

The staff at Powell are the kindest, most caring and attentive people. Matt takes an interest in every patient. The councilors are available anytime to talk. The facility is clean and quiet. AA and NA meetings are attended daily with small group and community groups for healing and therapeutic purposes. Each patient is an individual and many small focus groups are held to give more pointed treatment. Inpatient treatment is compassionate and still individualized. Outpatient and Continuing Care keep patients focused and recovery driven. I am grateful for my experience and recovery is within your grasp.

I believe that primary care is one of the best Dr we have on the east side of DES MOINES IA Dr Hendez is one of the best her team of nurses are great there always right on the work job there not only perfect they don't run you through like a Heard of cattle and if you have a long wait it's because they give you there best So just to let the one's who complain Think of that I Have thirty friend's that goes there and they would never change myself included What are they meaning ones in charge of planning our business and Dr In charge taking our department store's turning them into storage unit s Why? I'll just call them planner's We now have way to many Now taking our Dr I believe that the planner's are trying to Reid of the fighters meaning us who stand up and let them know about there self what us to pass away so they can make it an empty area The Dr at primary care are the best around I know seventy people that will fight to keep them here Planner's will see this if we all go to the capitol to fight to keep our Dr Dr Heradez and Nurses are the best they know that fighters need extra good Dr and Nurses because we are fighters so we all have beat our body's up to keep fair treatment I personally will go to the highest court to stand for them and to keep them here God Bless them for even taking there own time from there own family and thankful they have good husbands to help them though deactivated Dr they are helping us all

YSS saved my life, then gave me purpose in life. I was a very troubled kid, a burden on society, and my parents were at their wit's end. They were desperate when they turned to YSS. And while I fought it at first (couldn't stand authority), I eventually surrendered to the program/the process and my life turned 180 degrees. Today, as a person in long-term recovery, my purpose is to create hope and opportunities for others that are struggling. I recently had a VCUG procedure at Iowa Methodist Hospital, and while the test itself was uncomfortable and stressful, the care I received was outstanding. Dr. Amanda Oppedal, along with technologists Olivia Jackson and Britney Smith, treated me with exceptional compassion, kindness, and professionalism. They made a very vulnerable experience so much easier by offering reassurance, holding my hand, and making sure I felt respected and cared for every step of the way. People are quick to share complaints, but outstanding care deserves to be recognized too. Iowa Methodist should be proud to have these three professionals on their team. They truly make a difference.

My experience with The Beacon is as a volunteer and community partner. For many years, through several directors, my business (a day spa) has worked to provide services to the women and employees at The Beacon for special events. I've also employed women living at and who have graduated from The Beacon. I've gotten more involved in the last year as the current Director has created new initiatives that have made volunteering for the Saturday Night Socials so rewarding. I enjoy watching the women come out of their shells, witness their talents and interests, watch some of the residents look over the newer women. I have seen graduates return to give back to the women, and I've witnessed a moving graduation ceremony. I am so thankful there is a place like this for women in our community, the need is far greater than just one organization can serve, but this is a valuable organization doing their best work for women who need a supportive place to land and learn.

The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The process was very smooth and easy. They accommodated me and treated me in a very reasonable time. I am very greatful for the staff and Dr. Dodd who was very attentive and receptive. He supported me in what I had to say and I am so glad I made the appointment with him. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the negative reviews, as many are mandatory treatments. Don't let that deter you from coming into this wonderful office!
