After serving as an infantryman in the military, including being wounded during one of my deployments in Afghanistan, I sought therapy at Pawnee Mental Health Services. They provided me with the support and care I needed to transition back to civilian life and helped me become a better man. The therapists at Pawnee truly understand the unique challenges faced by veterans, and their expertise and compassion made a profound difference in my life. I'm so satisfied with the care I received that I've entrusted Pawnee Mental Health Services with my child's mental health as well. I have complete confidence in their ability to provide the same level of support and guidance to my child as they did for me. I highly recommend Pawnee Mental Health Services to anyone seeking quality mental health care.

I’ve NEVER had an issue with Pawnee. I don’t know what people expect, a red carpet to be rolled out everywhere they go? I dealt with debilitating depression and anxiety and since I’ve started visiting for therapy and medication management three years ago, I’ve been doing amazingly. We’ve had to adjust me meds a few times until we doing what worked best for me. And my therapist has never been too busy when I’ve needed a call or last minute session. They always have appts available and will call you if there’s a cancellation if you can’t get it as soon as you had hoped. They’ve never changed my appointments and I’ve never had to wait an obscene amount of time to be seen. The receptionists are kind and helpful and the mental health staff are AMAZING. But you’re always going to get the angry people reviewing rather than the satisfied patients, because they have to cause a stink about everything I guess!

It was very difficult to walk through the doors to get the help I needed. At that time I was in denial that even had a problem. One of the best things that I did out of the gate was going around and meeting as many people as possible. I went to all the meetings that I could, and quickly learned of the disease that I was dealing with. I sat back and listened to everyone’s story and soon started to see why I was there. It took a couple of days for everything to sink in, and I started to digest all the information that I could. Every staff member was 100% behind me in the recovery process and offered all kinds of encouragement. I felt comfortable being there and was able to open up to staff and other addicts in recovery without being judged. I learned how to identify what triggers make me susceptible to my addiction. They provided me the tools necessary to fight off urges and remove myself from uncomfortable situations. I owe my life to Valley Hope in Moundridge. I was on the verge of losing everything and had no idea. My time there has made me a better husband, father, son, sibling and friend. I definitely look at people in a different view and do not judge as I have no idea what life they have been dealt with. I came away with a new mindset on life and met a lot of great people. From the staff and patients, I am now living a great sober life. Anyone that is struggling or know of someone struggling, VH Moundridge is the place to be. I went in broken, and came out with the chance of a better life and a newfound family. This family is always willing to take a phone call when in need. We all have to work together if we want a better life. Again, the staff is top notch, and all they want is for you to be successful. Don’t wait another day. This journey started off with a lot of unknowns, now it is my turn to hold myself accountable and live a sober life. There are many alumni functions to keep you in touch with the people that you have met, along with a sober environment. Seeing their progress keeps me determined that I can stay sober and maybe help someone else in need. I do love my new life and new way of living. I highly recommend taking this journey, it might just save your life like it did for me. Also want to mention that the food is really good!

I'm giving South Central Mental Health in El Dorado a 4 star rating because there's always room for improvement. I appreciate my old therapist (for privacy reasons I will not State who that person is) He was very polite. A gentleman. Had a very caring nature. I appreciate his willingness to help me. I also appreciate him being skeptical when I wasn't being honest with him. I appreciate him allowing me to rethink the whole moving in with my dad discussion because it would have been bad. Towards the end I needed a change because I went through personality changes. I felt that my therapist then did not recognize me anymore because I changed after being in state custody. I appreciate the receptionists for always making me laugh and giving me candy at the time and a rubber stress ball. Very kind. Thank you!

This place is a nightmare to deal with. Any issues you might have get handled by the receptionist and they couldn't care less. As far as the opioid dependence side of this clinic, this place is horrible and cares NOTHING about really seeing people get better other than a couple desk workers maybe. I’d highly recommend requesting any provider EXCEPT Michelle as she is a liar and has no qualms about ruining you. For my random drug screens, I used the mouth swabs for many reasons. I Always wondered why my Clonazepam never showed up on them and asked the nurse OR Doctor (Michelle) every time and it was just blown off like nothing. Until, I come in one day and the director is in Michelle’s office with her waiting for me. Michelle says they are changing things and all patients now have to sign this form agreeing to not take other controlled substances while under their care. I signed it. She then proceeded to call my primary and tell him she thinks I’m giving away or selling my anxiety meds as they do not show up on drug screens. I was livid and left for a month, went back and requested a different provider and found out while I was gone, they did away with the mouth swabs due to not reporting accurately. I also found out that paper I signed was not a form everybody had to sign, it was a Bahavior contract, basically a strike one in a 3 strikes you are out system. I was at this place 100% voluntarily to get better for my family, I begged, pleaded and cried for help and was only always treated like a junkie. Particularly, Michelle’s lack of genuine empathy or care for her patients and constant lies and un professionalism should not be tolerated ANYWHERE. I will never go back. I wonder how many people have died under their watch simply because they didn’t TRULY care.

Many have found freedom from addiction at Sunflower Recovery, an addiction treatment center in Osawatomie, Kansas. The 90 day residential treatment program | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I cannot speak highly enough about Sunflower Recovery Center and their 90-day treatment program. From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt a genuine sense of care and professionalism. What truly sets Sunflower apart, though, is the incredible leadership of Katie, the Executive Director. Katie is more than just a director—she’s a passionate advocate for each individual’s recovery journey. She takes the time to personally connect with clients, offering encouragement, guidance, and even a listening ear when needed. Her dedication to the well-being of everyone in the program is clear, and it’s evident that she cares deeply about our success, both during the program and after. I never felt like I was just another client; Katie and her team ensured I had the tools and resources I needed to build a strong foundation for my sobriety. I never felt judged, but instead felt supported and encouraged every step of the way. The holistic approach to healing—addressing mental, emotional, and physical well-being—made all the difference in my recovery. Under Katie’s guidance, the program is not just a one-size-fits-all approach; it’s personalized and thoughtfully crafted to address the specific needs of each individual.
I am forever grateful for the entire Sunflower team for helping me take the first steps toward lasting sobriety. Sunflower is a place where you’re not just another client—you’re a person who matters.

I was in their PHP program for 30 days. I saw my counselor once. If you are new to the process you are left completely in the dark. No body comes and explains the process or the resources available. The front desk staff are horrible human beings along with some of the other personnel. People go there when they are their lowest and everyone is so rude and careless. The only person who showed me care and kindness was Alana de prescriber for the program. Oh let’s not forget about the food. Soup kitchens have better food. I know how much my insurance was paying them and they are stealing. The director said you are lucky we provide you with coffee. They get paid to.
