I am a retired critical care nurse. I am extremely pleased with the knowledgeable intheir Behavioral Health departments. They have helped all the members of our family. If there are any issues with the care givers, management addresses the issues. Their personel are compassionate and put their clients first, going out of their way to meet their needs, to see their clients get the care that they need. They have personel who work with the police. In times of extreme distress, the police can call them into the home night or day to assess a person in crises to get them the assistance they need immediately, with immediate follow-up the next day if at night. Help is right then, often preventing unnecessary ER trips or hospitalization preventing additional unnecessary stress and cost to the person and their loved ones in distress. I cannot recommend them enough.

I used to visit this Topeka VA center frequently and some times had to go to Leavenworth and KC. I relocated to the Tulsa, OK area. I was never displeased with the VAMC in Topeka, usually content and satisfied. I did not know how good I had it! I miss the Topeka VA very much. The Oklahoma system state wide is bad and Tulsa in particular. It is leagues behind in all categories. Topeka is a very good facility with good friendly staff and nicer and more thoughtful amenities to boot. I have experienced the contrast.

In 8th grade I got sent here, I thought it would be bad and that I would hate it, but to be honest it wasn’t bad at all. I remember waking up the next morning after being sent there at night, and everyone was so nice and caring. We got to do fun activities, we got breakfast lunch, and dinner. We even got a PE class, my favorite part was downtime when we got to stay in the room by ourselves, I wouldn’t say this place fixed everything but it taught me new coping skills.

This would be my first time ever being admitted to a mental health facility and let me tell you the best place to go everybody there is so sweet and caring and worried about you and your health and they get you what you need. I would recommend this hospital to anybody and everybody. The staff is so amazing. I cannot explain it enough. I adore every single one of you. Thank you for taking your time to listen to me. Had a medical emergency yesterday and had to be rushed to the ER. Usually, this ER is somewhere i dread having to go because of past experiences but yesterday was different. The nurses I had helped me physically but also emotionally. They took my disorders into consideration when talking to me and showed me every bottle they had to give me via IV to help calm my mind. (Cptsd). Most hospitals dont do that. At least not in my experience. Thank you Abilene ER nurses. You made the scariest day of my life a little bit less traumatic.

The staff actually care about their clients by never making them feel judged. They equip addicts with so much knowledge on coping skills and information on why the human mind thinks like it does. Learning how to think properly was one of the most important steps that led to my recovery in 2019. If you want help, you have to practice what you learn!!!

Roy was horrific and disrespectful. I didn’t go back to stonestreet for years. Now that I am seeing Alicia Sader she has already helped me tremendously. I been going to them for a very long time. They help my son and husband. However, ever since the med Dr left and my son got a new one, it seems like they do not return calls or anything. My son takes a med that can't be refilled. His old med Dr would do a 3 months script so he wouldn't run out. I called last week, pharmacy sent them something last week and nothing. This med he takes is important and he has been out since Saturday. I like their services but now I wonder if I need to find another Dr to do the meds. Very frustrating. Hands down on therapy services and everything.
