I have been with Pawnee for several years. I have PTSD that I have been carrying around most of my life undiagnosed by many therapist & Dr's until Pawnee Mental Health here in Junction City, KS. Whom finally gave me a name that others I felt ignored or didn't catch. Pawnee showed me what it was and it had a name. They showed me this by going over what I had enclosed to them from my own answers and within my first few appointments, I was diagnosed and an action plan was given to me right away. I remember driving my stepdad to inpatient treatment in 2018, and then taking my brother to treatment in 2021. Addiction impacted our family deeply, but Valley Hope was there during some of our most difficult moments. After completing inpatient treatment, my stepdad continued with Valley Hope's outpatient program, and that ongoing support was vital to helping him maintain his sobriety. Having a continuum of care made a tremendous difference in his recovery journey. Valley Hope has been instrumental in our family's life. Today I am over 100 days sober and so much of that has to do with my experience at Valley Hope. I met some of my best friends there as well as my sponsor! I used to visit this Topeka VA center frequently and some times had to go to Leavenworth and KC. I relocated to the Tulsa, OK area. I was never displeased with the VAMC in Topeka, usually content and satisfied. I did not know how good I had it! I miss the Topeka VA very much. The Oklahoma system state wide is bad and Tulsa in particular. It is leagues behind in all categories. Topeka is a very good facility with good friendly staff and nicer and more thoughtful amenities to boot. I have experienced the contrast.

This is a good option if you need help with addiction recovery. My feedback about the 28 day program is that this is a serious, vigorous road to get better. Mirror also guides clients on to the next step, which is often an Oxford House or other sober living plan. They'll help with vocational rehab and making contacts in the community-like churches and alumni willing to help. My counselor Jamie is the best but all the staff are devoted to clients. The other clients in recovery will be all sorts with different backgrounds. You will make friends with as many or as few sober people as you like! Family and friends visitation is once a week. An optional 2 mile jog and weights are available for exercise. The food is plentiful and you will have a chore. Chores are.loke helping in the kitchen or mopping floors, etc. Call ahead for a bed as there is sometimes a wait-list. Don't expect easy and fun, and expect lots of AA/NA meetings. But there's plenty of downtime for TV, reading and an occasional nap. This and Velejo are probably your best 2 options for addiction recovery in Topeka.

I came in from Leavenworth having never been to treatment before & unsure of what to expect. In the first 5 minutes of arrival I was met by Nick & Gordon who (along with the other amazing staff) helped guide me through my recovery journey. I felt like I was in the right place immediately. All of the staff were ex-addicts who knew exactly what I was going through & showed me the tools I could use to stay sober. 11+ months sober & I love my life! Not a day goes by that I don't think about my time there & how they helped me and so many others. I love EVERYTHING about my time there. In fact I recall a conversation with Nick asking if I could stay for another 30 days. Thank you Mirror Topeka for saving my life.

In 8th grade I got sent here, I thought it would be bad and that I would hate it, but to be honest it wasn’t bad at all. I remember waking up the next morning after being sent there at night, and everyone was so nice and caring. We got to do fun activities, we got breakfast lunch, and dinner. We even got a PE class, my favorite part was downtime when we got to stay in the room by ourselves, I wouldn’t say this place fixed everything but it taught me new coping skills.

This would be my first time ever being admitted to a mental health facility and let me tell you the best place to go everybody there is so sweet and caring and worried about you and your health and they get you what you need. I would recommend this hospital to anybody and everybody. The staff is so amazing. I cannot explain it enough. I adore every single one of you. Thank you for taking your time to listen to me. The staff actually care about their clients by never making them feel judged. They equip addicts with so much knowledge on coping skills and information on why the human mind thinks like it does. Learning how to think properly was one of the most important steps that led to my recovery in 2019. If you want help, you have to practice what you learn!!!

I absolutely love nebraska mental health centers in lincoln. my therapist is amazing, as well is my med provider and the rest of the staff. they give me reminder calls, are always friendly, and provide quick responses and solutions. if I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. never felt like my mental health was in better hands than with NMHC. thank you all for all that you do!!!!!!
