I fostered for 18 years for Saint Francis Community Services. The workers were amazing and always available to help and support when us when we needed it. Our Homes worker was always honest about the behaviors of the children they asked us to take and was very encouraging. This place has been such a beautiful resource for me and so many others. While it's not perfect, and does have areas of improvement just like any establishment does, I can truly say I am so grateful for the staff, programs and resources I have met and received while I have been here. They will help you get back your feet, but YOU have to be willing and able to WORK the steps to get to where you want to be. Both Tammy's are amazing, Mary is awesome, and so is Lilly! I can't express my gratitude enough towards this place and what it has done for me during a time of crisis and for it to help get me out of one of the roughest patches of my life. Took my first grippy sock vacation here today. It was very nice. The crisis stabilization unit let me keep my phone, and you're allowed to come and go as you wish, which was encouraging. They were very kind to me during my stay and accommodated a few special needs I had. I am glad that I went, and I would recommend the CSU on Hayes Dr in Manhattan to anyone feeling in crisis, hopeless, or wanting to not exist.

After serving as an infantryman in the military, including being wounded during one of my deployments in Afghanistan, I sought therapy at Pawnee Mental Health Services. They provided me with the support and care I needed to transition back to civilian life and helped me become a better man. I’ve NEVER had an issue with Pawnee. I don’t know what people expect, a red carpet to be rolled out everywhere they go? I dealt with debilitating depression and anxiety and since I’ve started visiting for therapy and medication management three years ago, I’ve been doing amazingly. We’ve had to adjust me meds a few times until we doing what worked best for me. And my therapist has never been too busy when I’ve needed a call or last minute session. They always have appts available and will call you if there’s a cancellation if you can’t get it as soon as you had hoped. They’ve never changed my appointments and I’ve never had to wait an obscene amount of time to be seen. The receptionists are kind and helpful and the mental health staff are AMAZING. But you’re always going to get the angry people reviewing rather than the satisfied patients, because they have to cause a stink about everything I guess!

It was very difficult to walk through the doors to get the help I needed. At that time I was in denial that even had a problem. One of the best things that I did out of the gate was going around and meeting as many people as possible. I went to all the meetings that I could, and quickly learned of the disease that I was dealing with. I sat back and listened to everyone’s story and soon started to see why I was there. It took a couple of days for everything to sink in, and I started to digest all the information that I could. Every staff member was 100% behind me in the recovery process and offered all kinds of encouragement. I felt comfortable being there and was able to open up to staff and other addicts in recovery without being judged. I learned how to identify what triggers make me susceptible to my addiction. They provided me the tools necessary to fight off urges and remove myself from uncomfortable situations. I owe my life to Valley Hope in Moundridge. I was on the verge of losing everything and had no idea. My time there has made me a better husband, father, son, sibling and friend. I definitely look at people in a different view and do not judge as I have no idea what life they have been dealt with. I came away with a new mindset on life and met a lot of great people. From the staff and patients, I am now living a great sober life. Anyone that is struggling or know of someone struggling, VH Moundridge is the place to be. I went in broken, and came out with the chance of a better life and a newfound family. This family is always willing to take a phone call when in need. We all have to work together if we want a better life. Again, the staff is top notch, and all they want is for you to be successful. Don’t wait another day. This journey started off with a lot of unknowns, now it is my turn to hold myself accountable and live a sober life. There are many alumni functions to keep you in touch with the people that you have met, along with a sober environment. Seeing their progress keeps me determined that I can stay sober and maybe help someone else in need. I do love my new life and new way of living. I highly recommend taking this journey, it might just save your life like it did for me. Also want to mention that the food is really good!

In June of this year I had never been more broken and hopeless. I had no desire to live anymore. God gave me the power and willingness to give Valley Hope in Moundridge a chance. It was the greatest decision ive made. They were there for me and walked through all of my trauma with me. The staff was top notch. Through being there for me through my detox and then being there to walk me through my life they were my angels. The counseling is what really made my experience there unforgettable. Today I am sitting at 99 days sobriety and I wouldn’t be here right now if it wasn’t for the help of VH and Ofcourse God. They showed me the love I had searched for all my life. I will forever be grateful to them.

Pine Lake Behavioral Health is the best clinic I have ever been to. I've been to other clinics in the past and consulted with various psychiatrists, but none compare to the experience here.
Jessica is the most outstanding psychiatrist I've ever had; she truly listens to your concerns and cares deeply about your wellbeing, offering the best care and treatment options available.
I entirely recommend her!! The nurses at this facility are incredible as well! They create a comfortable atmosphere and treat you like family! This is a good option if you need help with addiction recovery. My feedback about the 28 day program is that this is a serious, vigorous road to get better.
Mirror also guides clients on to the next step, which is often an Oxford House or other sober living plan. They'll help with vocational rehab and making contacts in the community-like churches and alumni willing to help.
My counselor Jamie is the best but all the staff are devoted to clients.
The other clients in recovery will be all sorts with different backgrounds. You will make friends with as many or as few sober people as you like! Family and friends visitation is once a week. An optional 2 mile jog and weights are available for exercise. The food is plentiful and you will have a chore. Chores are.loke helping in the kitchen or mopping floors, etc.
Call ahead for a bed as there is sometimes a wait-list.
Don't expect easy and fun, and expect lots of AA/NA meetings. But there's plenty of downtime for TV, reading and an occasional nap.
This and Velejo are probably your best 2 options for addiction recovery in Topeka.

I came in from Leavenworth having never been to treatment before & unsure of what to expect. In the first 5 minutes of arrival I was met by Nick & Gordon who (along with the other amazing staff) helped guide me through my recovery journey. I felt like I was in the right place immediately. All of the staff were ex-addicts who knew exactly what I was going through & showed me the tools I could use to stay sober. 11+ months sober & I love my life! Not a day goes by that I don't think about my time there & how they helped me and so many others. I love EVERYTHING about my time there. In fact I recall a conversation with Nick asking if I could stay for another 30 days. Thank you Mirror Topeka for saving my life.

Was here multiple times for psych and once for alcoholism. I am above middle class, have a degree, and just have bipolar disorder from genetics. The people complaining don’t know how good it is compared to other facilities. The place is clean, the food is great, and the staff is amazing. Please remember the people reviewing this place have issues and can be handful. Most people who have problems at places like this, unless it is filthy, create their own problems.

I'm from Texas. Walked in cause I was sick. Checked in at front and was told to sit in a separate waiting room. Couple minutes later nurse (Kris) came into get work up. They had to access my records from Texas which only took a few minutes. NP came in checked me out , did covid test and was on the road. Positive test, they called in meds next day and heading home. Awesome care. and Thanks

I am always treated well by the Hutchinson staff. They are kind and concerned professionals. My calls get returned promptly and if they don't know the answer they find out they don't guess. Wheny blood pressure spiked they took me in immediately there were 5 staff people helping out. Great human beings at a time when that is becoming a scarcity.
