He talked to me prior to my procedure to go over what he was going to use and what he might need to do if necessary. I was treated well & was kept long enough after my procedure to be fully out of the anesthesia.

My husband went through the independence center over 30 years ago. He did relapse after the first 3 months but he did not attend any aftercare or AA. Within a year he started going to AA and has been sober for almost 35 years. My son has also been through the independence center twice with varied success. He has had relapses but maintained sobriety for the majority of the time. He has used the tools he learned there to get sober again after relapsing without having to reenter treatment. The program will work for you if your honest with yourself and do the work. Good luck and god bless!

When you are ready, you are ready. I did three rehabs in the span of three summers and I’ve been sober a year and a half since going to the Independence Center. The ENTIRE staff wass genuinely interested in my recovery. Of course it’s up to me how honest I want to be with my counselor, Chaplin and myself (and God), but their unwavering encouragement doesn’t hurt and it didn’t. The facility is much better than others I’ve been to in Nebraska and they keep the distracting extracurricular horseplay to minimum. They have a great culture and alumni in the A.A. and Lincoln communities.

They care more about the paychecks than the welfare of the patients, the emergency room is a real shame, the waiting times are eternal, they forced me to spend hours suffering pain without any medical attention.

Neither insurance nor VA were billed until it was too late to be billed. The hospital had my insurance and in the words of the staff that I talked to, and have written evidence of they “just didn’t know how to file a claim with my out of network insurance” yet I was able to get with my insurance and the VA and complete half the process for them having 0 medical billing experience. Unfortunately it was outside the billing window so now I get to deal with it. Now I have to ruin my credit that I spent a decade to rebuild and get to live pay check to pay check to pay for an ER visit because I’m being sued for a bill that I would have paid pennies to dollars on after insurance or VA all because they couldn’t be bothered to submit a claim to two separate entities both of which had been contacted and expecting the claim within days of my ER the visit. The kicker is THEY gave my insurance to a third party radiologist who had no issues filing a claim with my insurance company and received their payment. I received a bottle of soap to wash out my road rash on my own (from a motorcycle crash), some morphine to help with the pain, and a fat bill that they failed to file. The bill is small enough that proving they are at fault is as if not more expensive than just paying the bill. I’m now financially crippled for the next 2-3 years due to their failure to file the claim in a timely manner, again to two separate entities.

We were seen in the emergency room on March 24th for our 9 month old son. They ran all necessary test to help us figure out what was wrong with our son. They listened to us. We were admitted and our dr is dr Leonard and he is beyond amazing. The nursing staff on the 4th floor first and second shift are great. They answer the call light within a good reasonable time. I would recommend this hospital. Thank you so much fourth floor nursing team, ER staff and dietary.

Sarah (my therapist) and Dr. Bohart (my psychiatrist), as well as the entire staff at Blue Valley do a fantastic job of creating a collaborative and cohesive treatment plan. I began seeing them both years ago, I believe in 2021, and even after stepping away from therapy for a while - the Blue Valley team was always welcoming as I continued my medication management with Dr. Bohart. And about a year ago when I returned to therapy after everything started feeling heavy and overwhelming again, Sarah was understanding of the non-linear healing process. Thanks to her authentic and honest approach to our sessions, it took no time for me to feel comfortable exploring even deeper aspects of my trauma than we had touched on the first time. My therapy sessions feel right for what I expect and need in order to grow - for me this looks like a safe, warm and friendly environment that allows for a bit of humor, time to process, in depth discussions, open thought exploration and evaluation of thought processes, as well as where the frameworks and triggers stem from. Sarah's style is reassuring but also pushes me to see things from a new perspective. I have never left a session feeling unheard, and feel I play an active role in shaping my therapy sessions too (ex. I will sometimes have a singular focus I want to work on in a session, and if I'm ready to do the work - Sarah is always ready to support it). She readily provides me with additional resources and research so I can form my own opinions and shares techniques to try in session and at home. I would recommend her to anyone, but particularly those who want to play a more active role in therapy. Sarah is always genuinely rooting for me to succeed, has always been professional in our sessions, but more importantly, it's quite clear how much she cares about helping and improving the lives of her patients. The same can be said of Dr. Bohart, who listens to my endless questions when it comes to my medications and potential side effects or interactions. While I was pregnant and into post-partum, Bohart took excellent care of me. She made sure we were cautious in selecting medication that was safe during pregnancy and the right fit to best support and manage my condition with thoughtful dosages. Bohart is always open to exploring new solutions when possible - I had a reaction after prolonged use of one medication and Dr. Bohart's team took my concern seriously and helped me pivot to a new medication plan as quickly and safely. Bohart has watched me and my family grow over the last 5 years or more and always asks me about my daughter and how things are going. She will investigate any concern or question or new medication option thoroughly and often on the spot so I get answers immediately and feel confident leaving the session. The office staff have always been so kind to me, even when mental health gets the best of me or life gets in the way and are quick to help me reschedule or arrange my sessions in a way that makes the most sense for my schedule. They know me by name and are genuinely happy to celebrate wins, milestones and help me to get the resources I need. Blue Valley has always made me feel that progress is possible, that I can show up as I am and will be met with understanding, and that there is no shame in seeking help – even if you aren't always sure exactly what that looks like for you.

This place saved my life. It taught me how to live, showed me my strengths and showed me what it was like to have true friendships with women. I know this place isn't for every women, but it definitely was for me. I would recommend it for those who need this kind of long term gender specific treatment. I had a great experience and a not so great one but the not so great was only because I was in the wrong I was keeping secrets I lied to staff to protect another girl don't keep secrets do the right thing always and you'll succeed idk about the newer staff but the ones who have been there awhile and the ones who have moved on are all amazing women who would do anything for you if you just let them in. I have been with Pawnee for several years. I have PTSD that I have been carrying around most of my life undiagnosed by many therapist & Dr's until Pawnee Mental Health here in Junction City, KS. Whom finally gave me a name that others I felt ignored or didn't catch. Pawnee showed me what it was and it had a name. They showed me this by going over what I had enclosed to them from my own answers and within my first few appointments, I was diagnosed and an action plan was given to me right away. We were seen in the emergency room on March 24th for our 9 month old son. They ran all necessary test to help us figure out what was wrong with our son. They listened to us. We were admitted and our dr is dr Leonard and he is beyond amazing. The nursing staff on the 4th floor first and second shift are great. They answer the call light within a good reasonable time. I would recommend this hospital. Thank you so much fourth floor nursing team, ER staff and dietary.

I am not a big fan of this place at all. It's short staffed, and I really don't like the last therapist I saw. He made me feel uncomfortable and insecure about my gender identity, and he was always making things look like they were my fault. I also remember having to wait four hours on two separate occasions for a walk-in appointment -- by the time I saw the doctor I didn't know what to tell them. Right now, I am in the middle of trying to claim disability, and they insist that my lawyer has to pay for /electronic/ records. Months later, and they haven't moved an inch. Also, their online portal is completely broken, and they have absolutely no interest in fixing it. It claims that my medicine has no refills, yet my bottle says there are six remaining. Only come here if you can't afford to go anywhere else -- otherwise, avoid this place at all costs. Sure, they have a sliding fee scale, but that only goes to show you get what you pay for.

While it's not perfect, and does have areas of improvement just like any establishment does, I can truly say I am so grateful for the staff, programs and resources I have met and received while I have been here.
