I could write a positive book about pawnee mental health. People are so negative today and don't have anything nice to say at all so I hope this helps people who need to see it. I started my consumer experience with pawnee in the early 90s. They have come a very long way in the services and level of care that they provide. My experience has been that during my level of care people really cared about me as a person not as a person with great insurance. People might say what does that mean exactly? Mental health has to be managed by the patient and the doctor to achieve overall maximum results which may or may not be positive. But regardless of the results the people who work here care about the clients they serve and pawnee gets negative reviews. Well my message to you is to consider the source of the complaints. Because you can't show up to any mental health facility and demand them to fix your problems. First of all if you have a bad attitude check it at the door because they're professionals not babysitters. When you're ready to ask for help they will help you the best they can or refer you to a place that specializes in care they're not prepared to offer at the moment. None of this is open to interpretation in life if you want apples you know where to get them. At the grocery store. Don't cry about apples when you're eating grapes. There's no shortage on apples. What do I mean exactly? When you are honest and want help it's readily available. Stop making excuses and blaming others for your mistakes. Take accountability for your actions. Your actions. And you'll be surprised by the results even though you shouldn't be. Stop reading negative reviews that lead to a conclusion that you want to believe because you want to make excuses. Extremely caring and kind to me. Only complaint is that I was told I’d get my dab pen back. But upon checking out my items, it was somehow missing 🧐. If they had told me I was never gonna see it again I would have understood and been fine with them taking it. But I was told I’d get it back, and the fact it randomly went missing is awfully suspect 😂. But the actual services I received, amazing. They have such kind people working there. I will never forget the few conversations I had with the staff. Thank you!!

I am a retired critical care nurse. I am extremely pleased with the knowledgeable intheir Behavioral Health departments. They have helped all the members of our family. If there are any issues with the care givers, management addresses the issues. Their personel are compassionate and put their clients first, going out of their way to meet their needs, to see their clients get the care that they need. They have personel who work with the police. In times of extreme distress, the police can call them into the home night or day to assess a person in crises to get them the assistance they need immediately, with immediate follow-up the next day if at night. Help is right then, often preventing unnecessary ER trips or hospitalization preventing additional unnecessary stress and cost to the person and their loved ones in distress. I cannot recommend them enough.

Had a medical emergency yesterday and had to be rushed to the ER. Usually, this ER is somewhere i dread having to go because of past experiences but yesterday was different. The nurses I had helped me physically but also emotionally. They took my disorders into consideration when talking to me and showed me every bottle they had to give me via IV to help calm my mind. (Cptsd). Most hospitals dont do that. At least not in my experience. Thank you Abilene ER nurses. You made the scariest day of my life a little bit less traumatic.

This place has been such a beautiful resource for me and so many others. While it's not perfect, and does have areas of improvement just like any establishment does, I can truly say I am so grateful for the staff, programs and resources I have met and received while I have been here. Everyone is nice all staff kitchen and maintenance and medical plenty of recreation to do to stay busy big classroom plenty of people to listen to and listen to their addiction stories to try to help you cope with yours into eight in your recovery very good program. I used to visit this Topeka VA center frequently and some times had to go to Leavenworth and KC. I relocated to the Tulsa, OK area. I was never displeased with the VAMC in Topeka, usually content and satisfied. I did not know how good I had it! I miss the Topeka VA very much. The Oklahoma system state wide is bad and Tulsa in particular. It is leagues behind in all categories. Topeka is a very good facility with good friendly staff and nicer and more thoughtful amenities to boot. I have experienced the contrast.

I've always had a wonderful experience here. I go in once a year for my check up. I get labs done 2 hrs early, then just hang out until my appt. The staff at the clinic and labs have always been great. Recently I went in to have a CT scan done. The folks in room 111 were just as amazing. The lady at the front desk (didn't catch her name) was very friendly. And Hailey who did my IV and did all the prep was excellent. Huge shout out to room 111!

I transferred from Texas to this clinic and everyone was exceptionally wonderful. They were so helpful and so nice. I wanna give a shout out to all of them, the receptionists, my counselor Chris, the nurse, and the nurse practitioner. Everybody was awesome. As someone who was terribly frightened of starting on the path to mental health recovery, Comcare made it very easy. The workers were patient with my inexperience and my intake was a breeze. My greatest fear was that I'd be treated as an attention-seeker, or foolish for having done my research. Instead, my intake practitioner was thoughtful and receptive, and agreed with my basic coverage of things; though I am not a skeptic of therapy, it was not what I needed. Referral to a medication consultation was quick and painless, as was that appointment. Above all, everything has been immensely affordable -- and more importantly, Comcare doesn't pressure you to cough up. I've never once been made to pay in office, or even asked to. I get my bill in the mail, and pay when I am able.

Walking into rehab was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. I expected cold halls, awkward silence, and feeling completely alone. Instead, I found people who slowly helped stitch pieces of me back together, sometimes gently, sometimes with tough love, and sometimes while laughing so hard I forgot where I even was for a minute. This place was equal parts therapy, life lessons, emotional damage repair shop, and accidental comedy show. The staff somehow mastered the art of being strict enough to keep us alive while still making us feel deeply cared for. That takes a special kind of magic. To the staff: thank you for seeing people instead of problems. Thank you for the hard conversations, the warm smiles, the accountability, the comfort, and the moments that made us feel human again. To the women there with me: you were some of the strongest people I’ve ever met. Recovery is not pretty every day, but neither is becoming a butterfly, and somehow we were all learning how to grow wings in there. First Step at Lakeview is an amazing place to go. The staff is absolutely amazing, you have Ashley Brett and Jan who go above and beyond what they need to to make us feel comfortable and at home. My experience was personable because of them and I really can't thank them enough.

This is a good option if you need help with addiction recovery. My feedback about the 28 day program is that this is a serious, vigorous road to get better. Mirror also guides clients on to the next step, which is often an Oxford House or other sober living plan. They'll help with vocational rehab and making contacts in the community-like churches and alumni willing to help. My counselor Jamie is the best but all the staff are devoted to clients. The other clients in recovery will be all sorts with different backgrounds. You will make friends with as many or as few sober people as you like! Family and friends visitation is once a week. An optional 2 mile jog and weights are available for exercise. The food is plentiful and you will have a chore. Chores are.loke helping in the kitchen or mopping floors, etc. Call ahead for a bed as there is sometimes a wait-list. Don't expect easy and fun, and expect lots of AA/NA meetings. But there's plenty of downtime for TV, reading and an occasional nap. This and Velejo are probably your best 2 options for addiction recovery in Topeka.

I came in from Leavenworth having never been to treatment before & unsure of what to expect. In the first 5 minutes of arrival I was met by Nick & Gordon who (along with the other amazing staff) helped guide me through my recovery journey. I felt like I was in the right place immediately. All of the staff were ex-addicts who knew exactly what I was going through & showed me the tools I could use to stay sober. 11+ months sober & I love my life! Not a day goes by that I don't think about my time there & how they helped me and so many others. I love EVERYTHING about my time there. In fact I recall a conversation with Nick asking if I could stay for another 30 days. Thank you Mirror Topeka for saving my life.
