I’ve NEVER had an issue with Pawnee. I don’t know what people expect, a red carpet to be rolled out everywhere they go? I dealt with debilitating depression and anxiety and since I’ve started visiting for therapy and medication management three years ago, I’ve been doing amazingly. We’ve had to adjust me meds a few times until we doing what worked best for me. And my therapist has never been too busy when I’ve needed a call or last minute session. They always have appts available and will call you if there’s a cancellation if you can’t get it as soon as you had hoped. They’ve never changed my appointments and I’ve never had to wait an obscene amount of time to be seen. The receptionists are kind and helpful and the mental health staff are AMAZING. But you’re always going to get the angry people reviewing rather than the satisfied patients, because they have to cause a stink about everything I guess!

I fostered for 18 years for Saint Francis Community Services. The workers were amazing and always available to help and support when us when we needed it. Our Homes worker was always honest about the behaviors of the children they asked us to take and was very encouraging. This place has been such a beautiful resource for me and so many others. While it's not perfect, and does have areas of improvement just like any establishment does, I can truly say I am so grateful for the staff, programs and resources I have met and received while I have been here. They will help you get back your feet, but YOU have to be willing and able to WORK the steps to get to where you want to be. Both Tammy's are amazing, Mary is awesome, and so is Lilly! After two previous attempts to stay clean, from other treatment centers, My treatment at Valley Hope Gave me the tools I needed to get clean and stay clean.Everyone from the counselors to the nurses to the chaplain and the kitchen staff and the cleaning staff,Had a big part in my experience of recovery!!! I was treated with great respect even the times when I wasn’t at my best due to being detoxed. I have to say this is the first time in all my recovery attempts at other facilities that my desire to stay clean and sober is strong three years later and I have no desire to return to the life of drugs and alcohol. It was very difficult to walk through the doors to get the help I needed. At that time I was in denial that even had a problem. One of the best things that I did out of the gate was going around and meeting as many people as possible. I went to all the meetings that I could, and quickly learned of the disease that I was dealing with. I sat back and listened to everyone’s story and soon started to see why I was there. It took a couple of days for everything to sink in, and I started to digest all the information that I could. Every staff member was 100% behind me in the recovery process and offered all kinds of encouragement. I felt comfortable being there and was able to open up to staff and other addicts in recovery without being judged. I learned how to identify what triggers make me susceptible to my addiction. They provided me the tools necessary to fight off urges and remove myself from uncomfortable situations. I owe my life to Valley Hope in Moundridge. I was on the verge of losing everything and had no idea. My time there has made me a better husband, father, son, sibling and friend. I definitely look at people in a different view and do not judge as I have no idea what life they have been dealt with. I came away with a new mindset on life and met a lot of great people. From the staff and patients, I am now living a great sober life. Anyone that is struggling or know of someone struggling, VH Moundridge is the place to be. I went in broken, and came out with the chance of a better life and a newfound family. This family is always willing to take a phone call when in need. We all have to work together if we want a better life. Again, the staff is top notch, and all they want is for you to be successful. Don’t wait another day. This journey started off with a lot of unknowns, now it is my turn to hold myself accountable and live a sober life. There are many alumni functions to keep you in touch with the people that you have met, along with a sober environment. Seeing their progress keeps me determined that I can stay sober and maybe help someone else in need. I do love my new life and new way of living. I highly recommend taking this journey, it might just save your life like it did for me. Also want to mention that the food is really good!

Not gonna lie, these folks save lives. Their experience shows through their authenticity, understanding, and most of all, they really care about every single person who has the courage to walk through the door. The nurses, chaplains, psychiatrist, small group leaders, counselors, admins, kitchen staff, housekeeping provide wrap around care like you’ve never seen. You may have never felt so safe and supported. In a word, “phenomenal”.

It was very much a tough love facility, which is the only way to get through to me. I didn't have any problems personally with the staff (other than my big personality clashing with staff's big personalities at times), they were all very nice to me. But they don't take no shit either, so don't pick this place trying to stir up trouble. You will not get along well. The kitchen staff is SO loving, I wish I was able to eat more while I was there!! It always looked so delicious and had huge helpings. I like this facility out of all other 7 times I've been elsewhere, because it is a dual diagnosis. They really give you curriculum that helps you to understand why we think and are this way, rather than the basic curriculum. Thank you all staff for being a helpful stepping stone in my story.

I hadn't felt as safe as I feel in this place! COMCARE has cared for me from the first moment I arrived. Everyone treated me in a kind and patient way, they always supported me even when I had problems paying for the lack of my insurance. The only thing you need is to have the desire to be a new person and change.

As someone who was terribly frightened of starting on the path to mental health recovery, Comcare made it very easy. The workers were patient with my inexperience and my intake was a breeze.
My greatest fear was that I'd be treated as an attention-seeker, or foolish for having done my research. Instead, my intake practitioner was thoughtful and receptive, and agreed with my basic coverage of things; though I am not a skeptic of therapy, it was not what I needed. Referral to a medication consultation was quick and painless, as was that appointment.
Above all, everything has been immensely affordable -- and more importantly, Comcare doesn't pressure you to cough up. I've never once been made to pay in office, or even asked to. I get my bill in the mail, and pay when I am able.

I knew I needed help and researched several different recovery centers before calling Bel Aire Recovery Center. It was the best thing I ever did because it saved my life. I was admitted within a couple of days and once I entered the doors the trajectory of my life changed. The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable about addiction and recovery. The counselors helped me with past trauma and gave me the tools to succeed in my journey to a life of sobriety. It was my first time in treatment and I had no idea how much I would grow and heal.

Bel Aire Recovery Center save my life in so many ways to save my relationship with everyone I had and save my marriage.
I couldn't have done it without them I tell you if you need help call them they'll come get you they will help you in every way they can until you're better.
Bel Aire’s also focus on addiction science, brain-based treatment, and holistic approaches neuro-counseling, meditation, art therapy was transformative, giving them optimism for sustained sobriety.

This is a good option if you need help with addiction recovery. My feedback about the 28 day program is that this is a serious, vigorous road to get better.
Mirror also guides clients on to the next step, which is often an Oxford House or other sober living plan. They'll help with vocational rehab and making contacts in the community-like churches and alumni willing to help.
My counselor Jamie is the best but all the staff are devoted to clients.
The other clients in recovery will be all sorts with different backgrounds. You will make friends with as many or as few sober people as you like! Family and friends visitation is once a week. An optional 2 mile jog and weights are available for exercise. The food is plentiful and you will have a chore. Chores are.loke helping in the kitchen or mopping floors, etc.
Call ahead for a bed as there is sometimes a wait-list.
Don't expect easy and fun, and expect lots of AA/NA meetings. But there's plenty of downtime for TV, reading and an occasional nap.
This and Velejo are probably your best 2 options for addiction recovery in Topeka.

I came in from Leavenworth having never been to treatment before & unsure of what to expect. In the first 5 minutes of arrival I was met by Nick & Gordon who (along with the other amazing staff) helped guide me through my recovery journey. I felt like I was in the right place immediately. All of the staff were ex-addicts who knew exactly what I was going through & showed me the tools I could use to stay sober. 11+ months sober & I love my life! Not a day goes by that I don't think about my time there & how they helped me and so many others. I love EVERYTHING about my time there. In fact I recall a conversation with Nick asking if I could stay for another 30 days. Thank you Mirror Topeka for saving my life.
