The place is wide, has ample parking, beautiful green areas, very hygienic and clean. I really like the place as well as the staff.

I completed the 28 day program at the farm last year, and overall had a good experience. Most of the staff are extremely helpful and really do care! The unfortunate part is like many others have experienced, they try to cram so much information in your head in 28 days that’s it’s almost impossible to retain any of it after the first week or two. I don’t remember much of my stay there. It was an opportunity to clean myself up, and meet some good people though. I would recommend it if you’re willing to work hard, can handle many hours of group therapy, and you are willing to stay clean. To date, I haven’t relapsed, so it must have worked! Also, if you wish to get involved in medically assisted treatment they don’t offer that there. So I would advise to start there before hand so you can have that extra tool to help while you’re there. I started m.a.t after I completed the program and that’s also been a help. Good luck!

In 2006 this was the 1st rehab I had ever been to. It was The Farm back then. Best experience ever. I loved how we had to study our addiction. Yes i relapsed several times after my time there, but because of what I learned there, when I was finally ready, I was able to get clean.

Great place!

Previously had Sabrina Daigle as my case manager for about 5 years (?). She was and is amazing. Very straight forward, genuinely cares and will push you to try when she knows you can succeed. Kayla Michaud is also great; she's another that genuinely cares about her patients. She's kind and is a great listener. Currently seeing Robin and she is absolutely fantastic. Very friendly, intelligent, and uses many different techniques. She'll find what works for you if its the last thing she does. The receptionist in Madawaska is so, so sweet. Myra in Fort Kent is also a sweetheart. I have no complaints about any of the incredible ladies at AMHC.

I been in pain for over 11 months. Been drs had shots drs thought it was neve entrapment. I saw dr Ames and had me fixed right up. I had rib out on right side. He is very nice I highly recommend his practice. Im glad I went to him

He wants to find and fix your issues. He does a great job. I only wish he was open on Friday. Lol 😆 🤣

My appointment was amazing. I hope they double Isaiah's pay. Everyone was so nice. Dr. Ames cares a great deal about veterans. I am so glad to be treated by a true family business.

The staff members are very compassionate and truly care for those they service, including the dosing nurses. It truly helps a lot for one who is undergoing the battles of life and addictions. I am truly grateful for the personal relationships I have developed while going there. It makes your experience very pleasant and gives you hope for a life of fulfillment without substances.

Everyone that works here from the counselors to the nurses at the windows to the staff at the front desk is extremely kind and welcoming. I enjoy going in and interacting with the warm and friendly staff.

The nurses are great, but they could do without Steph. She is very disrespectful does not care about the health or well being of staff or patients.

Great crew. Jim is super- intelligent, decent, caring and put together a great group of clinicians. Highly recommended from kids to adults.

What!…..I can only give 5 stars! 🤔 I would give 10 stars if it was an option. I have been talking to my social worker on the phone for approximately two years now. I get a full 60 minute visit with her and it helps greatly. Early on I believe it was only a matter of a few days before they sent me up for my first appointment. Chelsea listens to me rambling on and on… And when I finally let her speak (LOL) she will come up with some good suggestions in order to help me, help myself. Therapy for me is a very slow process. Let’s face it I’ve had problems for decades… Do I really think they were all going to be solved overnight, NO! That one hour a week helps so much… And every once in a great while I need to rely on the crisis line… That’s what they are there for. I have called Higher Ground maybe three times and asked to have Chelsea return my call, and within one or two hours she gets back to me. I have zero complaints, and only great praise to give all those working at Higher Ground. ☺️👍🤟🤘✌️ 🤜💖🤛

An amazing place to find the best therapists and counselors in the Bangor/Brewer area (and probably all of Northern Maine). The staff are caring and professional. They are willing to listen to each client's individual needs and form a treatment plan that puts the client (not just their symptoms) at the center of it. If you are in a financially difficult position, do not hesitate to talk with the front desk about how they can help you get treatment without over extending your means. The amount of healing I have experienced at Higher Ground is staggering. I feel anyone who is struggling owes it to themself to schedule a consultation. Thank you Higher Ground!

Well I have to say is this it is a great ace to go. My experience with this program is this they will support u through everything. I have gone there right now almost 6 years. I did a te and finished it and now I am at se and have been doing this job right for a little over 1year and still going everything is working process if I can do it anyone can. So yes this is a great place to go.

Went in to ask a few questions. Staff is very cold one-sided like they got something to hide

I do want to say that this is a good program and they had helped many people turn their lives around and find their path. I just was less receptive because the program wasn't for me per say, given my sensory overload with being autistic I may experience when I'm in a crowded area. No fault of their own, it's a small building that is really a historic house from the 1800s but when you have 20+ people in one room, it does get old when you have people constantly getting in the way or interrupting you. It's also not really autism friendly as at times I encountered incidences where it contradicts my self advocacy (example, wearing earbuds as noise cancelation and they assumed I was listening to music when I wasn't) plus the check ins get annoying when I am taking some time to recharge myself and take care of other matters and they assumed I'm in a crisis when I'm not. I had moved from the area since so I no longer go due to the distance as well as currently focusing on school. I wish I can say that they helped me out much more but they are doing that for the mass majority of their clients. my rating is based on my experience, not their performance as it's never a one size fits all situation.
