I completed the 28 day program at the farm last year, and overall had a good experience. Most of the staff are extremely helpful and really do care! The unfortunate part is like many others have experienced, they try to cram so much information in your head in 28 days that’s it’s almost impossible to retain any of it after the first week or two. I don’t remember much of my stay there. It was an opportunity to clean myself up, and meet some good people though. I would recommend it if you’re willing to work hard, can handle many hours of group therapy, and you are willing to stay clean. To date, I haven’t relapsed, so it must have worked! Also, if you wish to get involved in medically assisted treatment they don’t offer that there. So I would advise to start there before hand so you can have that extra tool to help while you’re there. I started m.a.t after I completed the program and that’s also been a help. Good luck!

In 2006 this was the 1st rehab I had ever been to. It was The Farm back then. Best experience ever. I loved how we had to study our addiction. Yes i relapsed several times after my time there, but because of what I learned there, when I was finally ready, I was able to get clean.

Previously had Sabrina Daigle as my case manager for about 5 years (?). She was and is amazing. Very straight forward, genuinely cares and will push you to try when she knows you can succeed. Kayla Michaud is also great; she's another that genuinely cares about her patients. She's kind and is a great listener. Currently seeing Robin and she is absolutely fantastic. Very friendly, intelligent, and uses many different techniques. She'll find what works for you if its the last thing she does. The receptionist in Madawaska is so, so sweet. Myra in Fort Kent is also a sweetheart. I have no complaints about any of the incredible ladies at AMHC.

While specialty medical services are lacking in northern Maine, we had a great experience with 2 back to back ER visits with Dr. Abeyta and Dr. Doerfler. They each took the time to explain details and help understand best next steps. We even received assistance with follow up to see a vascular doctor post visit. It was much appreciated!

Definitely recommend for inpatient services if you are having issues with your mental health. I had a great experience here. I absolutely loved Darcie, Kim, James & Katelin but all of the staff were very nice and kind. I would come back here for any mental health needs. They definitely saved my life and mental health. I recently had to courtesy dose here from Arizona and I will say I will never choose a different place when going back home to visit. They were awesome, worked hard to get me settled in and were super easy to work with. Also because I have take homes within my own home clinic my counselor was able to get me take homes there to make my trip that much easier. I am back attending the opiate addiction program at Bangor Comprehensive Treatment Center...got hooked again because of a herniated disc injury in my back, that was super-painful. Anyway, I think that the program is better now than it was when I attended a few years ago. My counselor back then was a really good guy and my current counselor now is even better. Absolutely love going there and love all the people that work there from the director down to the janitor...they are all great people that have a great program that I credit with saving my life. If you need help quitting opiates and want a medically assisted program, Bangor CTC is MOST DEFINITELY right up your alley!!

I've been making progress and I want to thank all the amazing staff I get to see and feel like they really care about getting me better and to eventually live the life I want so badly I will get there with all yall help from My Dr Gust, Cassandra, all the therapists,there are great and Liz is also amazing!! Thank ypu all for for the help you give me and for the progress I make. I may make it slow but I'm trying and that's all I can do is try and work hard in therapy. I love this place

I've had absolutely zero issues with care here; in fact it's laudatory. Everything i need is here. When timing isn't right or acute care is required, simple phone call to VA nurse gets everything set up for community care and/or follow-up outside the VA system.

Went here 3 years ago and it was hands down the best choice I ever made. If you are ready to get sober and can stay focused on your own recovery (stay out of any drama) this program has so much to offer. The staff are wonderful and treat you like a woman, not a patient. The balance between stature and freedom is really helpful in those early months of recovery. They also allow your children to visit snd stay over on the weekends and help connect you with all the resources you need when you leave. If you put 1/4 the effort you put into your addiction into your recovery while staying here, you will succeed.

IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A BETTER LIFE WITHOUT THE USE OF DRUGS/ALCOHOL, I would HIGHLY recommend this program. It not only teaches you how to live a healthy lifestyle but how to love yourself again. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I lived with my addiction for more than half my life. I am now 32 years old with a substantial amount of clean time.
