Went to ER for unknown condition. After multiple tests it was determined I tested positive for lime disease. Also been determined A1 diabetes and high blood pressure. I am posting this review to say thank you for the amazing nurses and doctor. The attention given to me made me feel I was their only patient. I don't remember all names, but I assure you they seriously took care of me. Lots of test,pokes and IVs. Not singling any of them out any means. But Scott my night nurse kept me comfortable and we had a great conversation when I needed someone to talk to. Im hopeful with meds and change in diet I will be on the road to recovery. So I hope Scott see this.

For years and many visits later, I can honestly say I'm proud of how things turned around. You can tell a concerted effort was made. Every employee I have encountered has been kind, patient, and understanding. The services received were great. I wish I could Daisy award the whole crew. (2021ish) I'm editing my response here: the last time I was sent to the ER was pretty great, but it was also for an easy procedure. They must be working on their bedside manner. (Approx. 2019) My emergency room visits left much to be desired. My first, I arrived with chest pains and known multiple health issues that would make that particularly scary. The doctor immediately decided it was anxiety, even as my bloodwork indicated something being very wrong. I was placed on one-to-one, like suicide watch, despite being no threat to myself. I mentioned my health issues, and she refused to explore whether they could be the cause. Next thing I know, someone from community mental health is in my room to interview me. I was sent home with no relief and a referral for therapy. My doctors, when I followed up, were horrified. I was told by more than one practice that if I think I can survive the drive, to go the hour north or south to a different hospital in an emergency. Well, two months later I am bleeding uncontrollably and my doctor orders me to the ER ASAP. Great. I get in right away and was treated terribly by my nurse. I could tell she was not listening while I spoke. Eye-rolling and tutting and all. While I sat there. Bleeding. After imaging and bloodwork showed that yes, I am bleeding and yes, my iron levels were real low now, the same nurse came in to tell me I was on my period "what did I expect?" (I was not, we discussed this, it's why I was there..), that her bloodwork is worse than mine so be grateful. I left, still bleeding out, with no instructions for follow-up care, but instructions from the doctor to come back if it continues. I said "It continues now, do I just turn around?" And the nurse said, "we still won't help you". You think I would have learned but I ended up back with an alarming symptom that has to do with a chronic disease I have, the recommendation that I'm seen ASAP by my doctor, along with some odd other symptoms that all popped up at the same time. The one alarming symptom was addressed very slightly, with nothing more than standard blood and urine tests which showed a problem but they couldn't figure out exactly what it was and were unwilling to explorer further as soon as they ruled out a kidney infection. The other symptoms were met with a literal shrug. I was told that I was merely dehydrated, though that made no sense because I had been drinking a whole lot of fluids. When I brought it up, the e.r. doctor agreed and said to call my doctor in the morning. I left with no answers and still sick. Again. So yeah, not going back if I can ever help it. I don't recommend it at all. Munsing and Mercy aren't that far, if you can make it.

While I was seeing Dr. Joseph, I would have rated it a 1, maybe 2 stars at best. He was always super late for appointments which he would attend through video. He was very cold, not relatable or personable in any way, and he never seemed to listen. I changed meds probably 4 or 5 tines over the span of 4 or 5 months. Since switching to Dr. Smoes, things have been great. She listens, asks the right questions, she's on time, and it only took a few visits to find a medication regimen that I have now been on for roughly a year or so. People's experiences (and by extension, their ratings) at places like this often result from a negative interaction(s) with 1 or 2 people. And, unfortunately, it's often the entire office getting a bad rating when it's really just a couple bad doctors, nurses, and/or receptionists. From experience, I can say that this office has at least one not-so-great doctor, and at least one solid doctor. My experience with all the nurses I've seen have been positive, and at least a couple of the receptionists actually know me by name. Overall, I'm happy with my services since switching to Dr. Smoes.

Taylor D. was my therapist for almost 6 months before I moved from newaygo county and had to end our sessions. If they would have let me continue to be a patient after my move I would gladly make the hour trip to continue our sessions. She is such a REAL and relatable person. I never felt judgment from her or any of the other members of my care team. I'm thankful everyday for some of the advice and help she gave me and will carry those tools with me through life. This place saved my life, I was entirely lost and mentally stranded after years of mistakes. I never learned how to function as an adult in the real world, which exactly what Roots taught me. The sober living program provides a very structured schedule, helps build disciplines, and teaches real life skills alongside how to live a happy life in recovery. When I first got to roots I was very shut down and isolated, I wanted nothing to do with anyone including myself, I had no hope left. I have now been at roots for a year and I can truly say that roots gave me my life back. I have learned how to trust others, myself, and be more vulnerable which has helped me make connections with other sober people in my community, and rebuild the ones that I had tore down in my active addiction. The structure helped me to stay accountable and relearn what everyday life is like outside of using, I forgot how to be a human outside of drugs and alcohol and roots helped me to build up my skills again. I could go on and on about how much roots has changed my life but I can assure you that in the year I have been here I am a completely different person and I am so beyond grateful I came to roots and that the people within roots never lost hope in me!

My experience met my expectations and being 5. I've been using the partial antagonist medicine for a few years and had great success until my doctors started making it difficult for ne to constantly stay in them and stabilize. That and when you administer the pairtial antagonist you have yo go into the office to see them. This is always a smaller satellite location that you visit with people everywhere and most of them if not all of them aren't anywhere near as sick or hurting like an addict in withdraw. The point to that was you have to see your doctor in person and in full blown withdrawals state when you see the docs. Then they have to determine if your ready for that medicine and make sure that you're such enough to start the meds because of you administer it too soon ot will make the person even more sick!! It's very very difficult to start that med and can be dangerous and discouraging to many people. I was one of them for a while. The staff was amazing and made everything feel very clean, calm, and controlled environment. The structure and attention they give every person makes it a place that not only feels safe but, it's safe. The ladies at the desk are amazing and can confidently say the same for all the staff! I've never been in a place of recovery like this before. You can feel the tenderness and compassion in the atmosphere that naturally provides judgement free area you can feel

Dr. Plumb has changed my life. There may not be many psychiatrists in traverse city but I’m fortunate enough to have DR. Rachel plumb as my doctor for 5 years now. You get out what you put in. I’ve done therapy for many years and this facility is great. I’ve only seen my one provider, but I would believe that every other provider also offers exceptional care. Don’t read into all the bad reviews, if you are on the fence about trying them out I’d give them a chance.

I’ve been through 3 therapists at this clinic, they were very nice people. The service is great, the ladies at the desks are always kind and helpful. Only things I would say is that sometimes the therapists go against your opinions and judgement and make you feel out of place or out of control. BUT all of my experiences here have been pleasant. Loved my past two therapists, Mattie DeBoe (no longer a therapist, moved to higher position) and Kelly anthi. Compared to pine rests outpatient/inpatient care facility, this place is paradise. Their inpatient and outpatient facility has many many issues with the inpatient and resident facilities, the outpatient facilities are very helpful and welcoming, quite opposite of the inpatient.
