Pontiac, MI | You’ll find Easterseals MORC in Pontiac, Michigan, just a 30 minute drive from Detroit. You can always access their services, regardless of insurance or finances. Their outpati | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I see a bunch of bad reviews here and so I felt compelled to leave a good one. My own experience at Easterseals has only been since early June 2025, but I must express that they do have some wonderful staff here and they've been mostly pleasant and quite helpful in addressing my needs and concerns. My caseworker's been very positive and actually quite responsive when it comes to communication, which truly makes all the difference for me, personally. I feel she genuinely cares. My psychiatrist and therapist also have been great in similar ways. I can't say enough good things about these amazing women! Sure, front end staff seem off or a bit grumpy or just burned out sometimes, but, honestly I can't blame them - I wouldn't be able to deal with the job well myself! It'd annoy the hell out of me dealing with so many people all day. We all get tired of work at times, we're all only human ya know. (I only mentioned this because of the negatory comments I read regarding the initial staff). Lastly, their transportation guys are also awesome! I think what it all comes down to is your own personal attitude, tolerance, and the ability to have compassion and understanding from other perspectives in these type of places when it comes to staff interactions and services in general. I use the Genoa pharmacy there as well, and they've always been great. You get what you give in life or what you put into things folks. It's also good to remember we can't truly control anything outside of ourselves, only what's within us. But, I digress - to each their own. I hope this helps those considering using Easterseals or continuing to utilize their services. Peace and Love! I wish you all the best.

Hi. I just wanted to extend my thanks to Andrew and Jason. They came to pick up my couch, but determined it was too worn to be of use for your organization. However, when they learned that we needed the space for a hospital bed for my husband, they went far above and beyond and came back to take it to the curb for me. It was not an easy task; it was a sleep sofa and too big to fit through the door, so they dismantled it and stacked the pieces neatly at the curb for trash pickup tomorrow. We are very grateful and wanted to let you know! Thanks again!

I've had a truly wonderful experience with Oakland Family Services. From the very first time I reached out the staff has been compassionate professional and genuinely dedicated to making me feel supported. Over time I've worked with a few different therapists due to insurance changes but each one has taken the time to listen and create a safe non judgmental space where I can speak openly and honestly. Every session feels intentional and focused on meaningful progress not just conversation. The holistic approach presented has helped me develop effective coping skills build confidence and find a greater sense of balance in my daily life.
I've had very little difficulty being connected with a person who prescribes the medication as well as having monthly checkups to talk about whether the medication is working for me or not.
Communication is always clear and scheduling appointments is easy and flexible. I've consistently felt valued and cared for as a person not just a client. The positive impact Oakland Family Services has had on my mental and emotional well-being is truly remarkable. I wholeheartedly recommend this agency to anyone seeking compassionate and effective mental health support.

This location is generally positive. I completed the "Getting Ahead" program there and also acquired a mentor, Jennifer. She initially acted strangely, showing reluctance to assist me. I got so much love for this place. From my initial late night phone call with RN Jeanne who reassured me that I was correct in refusing to get stuck on suboxone for 7oh dependence to meeting with Laura and then all the great nursing/patient care staff (especially Pat, with RT) as well as Dr. Aharonov, this place is the real deal. I don’t think I would have been able to get off 7oh any other way. The morning after the procedure was no walk in the park (fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, insomnia); but not having to suffer thru the intense body aches and pains as well as other opiate withdrawal symptoms for 4-7 days at home was well worth the price of admission. If you can handle a bad hangover for a day plus a couple more days of diarrhea, you can handle this. They also give you meds to help ease whatever symptoms you have after. I can’t tell you how many times I had tried quitting at home unsuccessfully (even with comfort meds like gabapentin and clonidine); I knew I had to go somewhere where I could just “rip off the bandaid” and be done with the nightmare I was stuck in and flying to Michigan was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time. I’m going on nearly a month now since I was there and you couldn’t pay me enough to ever touch 7oh again. I’m forever grateful for this place and the amazing staff that works there.

Honestly your stay at any rehab really comes down to what you put in it. The food is good. Its a big place with nice lounging areas. Of course the beds are cramped and not king size but what else would you expect. They just put a lot of money into the outside. A basketball court and pickle ball.. they treat you well there. 4/5 stars, but here's why. I was not an attendee, simply a support person for a friend who decided to cut his stay short, but here is what I can say from being a person limited on the outside.
1.) The amount of ability they give to allow for the family member to contact their loved ones is great! I was astounded by the high allowances of connection they give to those who are admitted. It's a huge plus, which is shocking but greatly appreciated.
2.) Every person there was kind but committed. I got the vibe that they were there to do a job, and do it well, but without being rude. I could tell there was compassion here for the people they take in.
3.) They have rules that are relatively strict, as is true of most rehab facilities.
4.) They were clean, and offered as many amenities as they could given that insurance covers those who stay there. It does feel hospital-ey, but it is owned by a hospital, so no real major un-expectations there.
MY ONLY COMPLAINT: the heat and A/C in the building seems to be lacking. It seems the facility is well worn, and could use a re-up. It gets hot in there in the summertime, and I can imagine it would be difficult for me to sleep there. Apart from that, I have zero complaints. I feel this team of people did the best they could given the circumstances, and I appreciate their dedication to their jobs.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! GET THE HELP ITS WORTH IT!!!❤️❤️❤️
I truly can’t say enough about how much the New Oakland Clarkston location changed my life. I came in during a crisis, and I left feeling stable, hopeful, and genuinely happy. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re greeted with open arms—there’s no judgment, just compassion, warmth, and professionalism.
I was part of the face-to-face program at 28 years old, and everything exceeded my expectations. The group therapy sessions were incredibly powerful and gave me tools I didn’t even realize I was missing. My group leader, Kailee, was with me for the majority of the program and is genuinely one of the most bubbly, kindhearted, and knowledgeable souls I’ve ever met. She created a space that was safe, supportive, and uplifting every single day.
Niki, my therapist, is truly amazing—so insightful, attentive, and caring. Dominique, the nurse, is an absolute gem—compassionate, patient, and always there when you need her. And Matt, the psychologist, didn’t waste any time helping me find the right medication and support. He took my concerns seriously and acted quickly, which made a world of difference.
The staff here truly care. It doesn’t feel like “treatment”—it feels like a community of people who love what they do and want to help you grow and heal. The food was great every day, the atmosphere was calming and structured, and they even gave us breaks for fresh air, which made a huge difference for my mental health.
This place gave me a full toolbox to take with me, and for the first time in a long time, I feel ready. But here’s the truth: you get out what you put in. If you show up, participate, and commit to the process, you will see change. This team will support you every step of the way, but you have to meet them there.
What sets New Oakland apart is that their care doesn’t stop when you walk out the door. They set you up with a real plan for continued support—and they actually follow through. I will forever be grateful for the experience I had here. This team helped me find myself again.
Thank you, New Oakland Clarkston. You saved me.

Detroit, MI | The Salvation Army Harbor Light provides a recovery program for adults in need of alcohol or drug rehab. They provide detox, residential, intensive outpatient, general outpatient and transitional housing programs. They have specialized programs for women and children and veterans. They accept walk-in and referral patients. The Salvation Army Harbor | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I absolutely love this place and now that I'm gone I even miss them. The majority of the employees there care about the residents. It's clean, they make sure your withdrawals are not too bad. When u 1st arrived you will be in detox 3 days or so then go over to the residents side for 29 days. The rooms have 2 to 3 people in it with its own shower/bath.
Breakfast is 7, lunch 11, dinner 4 and a snack at 8. If you're too sick to go to the dining area they will bring it to your room. Mondays and Tuesday are your long days you're in meetings from 9am to 10pm. Group meetings are mandatory every day 9-11. Church is on Sunday and Bible Study on Wednesday. They will help u get on your feet so u can survive when u get out. Oh and the men monitors are cute too, i know one resident who has started messing around with one recently. But the majority of them are not like that. It's a spiritually grounded place where God is first. Oh and you get to keep your phone and smoke whenever you want to. Let's see what else , Oh the food is good now it wasn't when I 1st got there but we complained about it at our weekly meeting and it has improved, a lot! As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best around, but I've only been to one other Christian guidance center, i caught COVID there. I was only there for 2 weeks but they never took my vitals when I was there. And Harbor Light checks them every 4 hours when you're in detox. And once you have completed everything you will get a certificate and a coin. Oh and u have to drop weekly, Oh and they also have a medical mobile unit that comes every Thursday iu need blood work or whatever done. Teally cool joint that I highly recommend

Back in 2011 this place changed my life. Actually learned a lot of important stuff. Detox and stayed there for 3 months. If I'm not mistaken it's a free program. If I'm wrong then it was definitely a low amount. Especially when comparing other places.
