(Burner account for anonymity) This place is great. I was very scared to attend but after a week or so, felt at home. The staff is amazing. I just wish we had more time with staff. There is a good amount of peer-led activity and that can be hit or miss. But the sessions with staff were always great. Food is above average for a place like this and the medical staff is top notch. I would recommend anybody needing treatment to go to Center City. For those crying and saying there was no change in their loved-ones... those folks must have not been attending sessions or doing the work provided. I watched grown adults walk in as big zombie children and leave as men - ready to go to the next phase. After your stay, YOU STILL HAVE WORK TO DO. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?

I’ve just started working with Jennifer as my treatment counselor, and I can already tell she’s going to make a real difference in my recovery. She’s extremely kind and welcoming, which makes it easy to open up and feel comfortable in group sessions. She listens with genuine care and offers guidance that feels both supportive and practical. What stands out the most is how she contributes to the group. She’s encouraging, fair, and always keeps us focused on moving forward. I feel like she truly wants to see each of us succeed in our recovery journeys. I’m grateful to have her as part of mine, and I would recommend her to anyone who is serious about getting the right support.

Of all the treatment I've been to in the last 15 years, Lakeshore has been the best in many ways, but there is always a few bad apples in a bunch. Let me explain; THE BEST: Emily Schwab and the other Certified Peer Recovery Specialists dive in, driven by empathy and altruism. Getting everything a person needs in early recovery taken care of for you and lining up everything for our near future. The Good: The counselors care and are very attentive to our needs and help build a treatment plan worthy of a valiant attempt from our end. The Bad: Chad Walker. The treatment director. He is arrogant and selfish. He knows best, just ask him and he will tell you. He is very brash to people in vulnerable states and seems to have taken it upon himself to make his own rules and designs outside the scope of what EOSIS is trying to do for recovery. Get a new director and I would recommend this place to anyone. Also I think CPRS workers, especially ones this dedicated, should be independent contractors. Or, they should get paid more than "I think" they do because of the amount of actual work they do for us!!!

I am finally giving this a review roughly 8 years after I left that 30 day transition program. Let’s be honest here, there was some rough moments while I was being assessed but that’s to be expected, why? Because everyone has different needs and working in that type of field, dealing with troubled kids, can be a difficult job. Here are my pros and cons. KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS REVIEW WAS FROM ROUGHLY 8 YEARS AGO. Cons: 1) I remembered a staff trimming her nails in the cafeteria while we were having breakfast and to me. It seems like some staff back in the day, worked there just for the convenience. 2) I was treated poorly by other patients in my group because they assumed false things about me. 3) The way they disciplined misbehaved kids was a bit cruel. After they restrained them, they would put them in a concrete room with pads full of (maybe memory foam). Each kid was told to sit on the pad (in the middle of the room) and calm down. There was a security camera in that room for safety, while there was a staff standing outside the room. There was a window high enough for the staff to peek into the room. I personally was in that room a few times and it felt horrible. The only positive thing that came out of that room was being on the other side, being with the group and feeling safe that the misbehaved kid wasn’t with our group for X amount of time. PRO: 1) I learned what essential oils were and how useful they are to help calm the mind. I remembered a nighttime staff going out of her way to find a specific essential oil for me that was in a different part of the building, so that I can smell it throughout the night and relax during a tough time. 2) I remembered friendly compititions, popsicle stick catapults, street hockey and other friendly compititions where the winner gets one free meal from subway 3) I learned that photography is a great coping skills as well as essential oils. 4) despite having some issues with some other patients, I got a long with other patients. 5) We went to the Burch Barn to do the corn maze 6) we also went to the ecomart to grab some marshmallow fluff 7) despite feeling like some staff are working there for the convenience, I feel like the majority of the staff there are working to help misbehave kids. 8) Staff are very observant and responsive towards misbehaved kids and things that might develop. Q) Why are you posting this review now and not years ago A) I am posting this review now because I feel like I have reached my peak at changing. I will admit, it has taken years to change my behavior and learn how to live my life with my new behavior. I am in college for photography and this year is my first year as a freelance photographer. I have reached so many milestones this year, I feel like I have changed who I was and became a better person, with help from Northwest Passage. I recommend this place to families with stuggling kids because even though I have had some negative experience at this place, I genuinely feel like they want to help those kids develop helpful skills as well as helping families too.

Northwest Passages- For 30 day+ testing only. As a parent this was a hard choice. I'd do it again though. My child went here for testing & we had a positive experience. The communication I had with the Case Manager made all the difference in the world! I was kept in the loop on daily activities & how my child was doing. I stayed for 5 months starting in 2021. I feel that the program it's self works. The strict routine was good for us even though it was a nightmare residential suck but this one was effective. The staff are all there because they need clinical experience for thier social work degree so they don't stay long, not experienced and don't really like it. The management Stephenie is honestly the worst person there! The place is dirty but the food is so good!! Most of the staff want to help people and are nice. I would give it a chance I think your kid will know when they are finished with the program I left a month early and I feel that if I was there for a extra month I would have gotten worse. In my case though I wasn't the problem I just needed to build confidence and surround myself with people that were nice to me. I am happy now and have enough skills to cope with stressful situations. I still see my therapist that I met in treatment.

a lot of terrible reviews, but thats just cause residential in general sucks, the one i went to before was worse. i mostly liked this place because there was good food and there were some really great staff there, and i really enjoyed my therapist for IT. of course theres a lot of downsides, whether it be lots of understaffing, not always the best approach towards handling situations, and a lot of covert racism and ableism, but the place is a constant changing facility, with new rules being implemented, others being discarded, and staff coming and going. the entire mental health situation in america just sucks in general, so you definitely cannot (yet) expect this place to be great. but ive seen a lot to be done resident wise to make change happen and to call out things that need to be called out, so we at least have that. but yeah, definitely better than my first two residential stays, but would not make a very good bed and breakfast. i hope everyone i knew there is doing well though, shout out to my pals there who were extra cool B) also i think this place should get an extra star cause boss man is from alaska, so four star for yall B) -AK 9/6/22-5/5/23

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pride Institute has literally saved my life — more than once. I’ve been through Pride multiple times, and every time I walk back through those doors, I’m reminded that recovery isn’t linear — but community makes it possible. Pride isn’t perfect. It’s a little messy and sometimes chaotic. It’s also one of the only places I’ve ever felt truly seen as a queer, trans person in recovery. The staff here care, even when we don’t make it easy. Great counselors as well as a lot of variety for daily groups. I’ve learned how to tell the truth about my story, connect with people who get it, and start rebuilding a life that actually feels like mine. I’ve laughed harder here than almost anywhere else, cried in rooms full of people who understood, and found hope when I didn’t think I would again. If you’re looking for a luxury rehab, this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for a place full of flawed, brilliant, queer people trying to heal together—Pride is definitely the place to go.

My last stay at Hazelden Plymouth was about 2.5 years ago, when I was 17. At first, I was nervous and resentful of my parents for sending me there but I’m glad they did. The facility was amazing (and the food was great too). My psychologist, David Wells, was very educated and helped me make real progress. My counselors, Joanne and Denise, were exactly what I needed. I overdosed on fentanyl three times before coming here, and without Hazelden I truly don’t think I’d be alive today. I’m now 2.5 years sober, and the education and support I received at Hazelden continues to help me in other parts of my life. I’m very grateful for my time here and highly recommend Hazelden to anyone who needs help.

Wow! What a journey. Please take this seriously for those in addition or wanting to recover! I went here during covid season 2020 when I got my DUI. I was regretting it, didn't take it seriously, etc. I did my month time stay there. Went home continued with addiction cause I still didn't care. After mother's day weekend on 05.09.22 was my first day of sobriety. I'm still sober to this day. Let me tell you what, I've had the most fantastic experiences and time of my life sober! Looking back, wish I'd took things seriously. I even got off probation this year in June. I wasn't supposed to get off until November next year 2024. I mean God's work is honestly a blessing and you definitely feel him working thru you. I remember starting out here at this place, they said "higher power" and I'm like naw, I don't got that. Not even my kids. Oh yeah, God is my highest power! This place is amazing! Trust me! Great staff, food, location, etc! Just please get help! It's not worth your life ending on bad terms! I will never go back to that life style. Sobriety is just the coolest 😎 Lord the energy you have, stability, motivation, passion to keep striving and going in life! Yes!! No more laziness! It's just nice! Thank to this place and the DUI was a huge lesson I needed to kick my rear end into gear! Let's keep going! SOBRIETY ROCKS! SOBRIETY IS THE COOLEST 😎
