This was my second time receiving treatment at Hazelden, and I truly felt a deeper sense of connection and growth this time (quality of service improved since last time ) This time, working with my counselor “nas” made a big difference in my experience. He showed great understanding, professionalism, and sensitivity while addressing my addiction challenges. His approach was thoughtful and respectful, and I always felt safe and heard during our sessions. Really loved the mental health part and mental health professionals!! I’ve learned so much about myself, and I’m proud to say I’m now two months sober. Thank you to everyone at Hazelden for the support and care!!! This experience has meant a lot to me!!

The Retreat saved my life. I relapsed after 6 years sober and found returning to the program extremely difficult. The way they helped me immerse myself back into the steps was exactly what I needed. Now I’m in fire for AA and I am so grateful that this place exists for real alcoholics and addicts like me to recover.

Are you reading these reviews considering whether or not you need treatment? The answer is, you do. The best thing I've ever done for myself was admitting I needed help. The second best thing was going to Hazelden. It's a beginning, it's not a solution. So don't fool yourself into thinking they will solve your problems. But I can honestly promise you, if you open yourself up and surrender all of your B.S..you can and will heal.I had suffered a stroke and was in a coma for 3 days before I admitted myself. If I would have continued to drink, I would not be typing this right now. I would be dead. You don't have to suffer alone anymore, I did that for way too long.So Im telling you, love yourself for a change. Look in the mirror at yourself. Are you ok with what you see?You can and will get better if you are truly willing to. And no--you can no longer do it on your own. How many times have you already tried that? Trust me, my name is Kevin and I owe my life to this program, the wonderful staff and the community of people who accepted and embraced me.

Hazelden taught me how to live a healthy life again and gave me my life back. They addressed the poor coping skills that landed me there and gave me new ones. I continue to have nothing but the best of experiences with the staff at the St Paul location. I am grateful to so many people, but I do want to mention the incredible nursing department. Diamond and Ian, I look forward to every time I see you guys! Consider yourself very lucky if you get Dr. Exo - she's amazing! Laurie was a mentor to me at center City, and a big part of my decision to stick with the program. Cheers to 1 year and 1 month of sobriety, and a whole new life!

I've changed my review they've implemented a lot of good things. The monthly mandatory group is online now which is amazing I have severe phobias and sitting in a small room of 20 people with potentially catching COVID makes me feel a lot better knowing I can sit at home in a group on camera and my counselor Rob is amazing and genuinely cares so they fixed a lot so I give this clinic a thumbs up. My previous review wasn't too fair I feel like they fixed a lot of the issues that I had problems with which is really good lots of places don't do that and they certainly don't listen to their clients usually and fixing those issues so it's a very nice change of pace to feel like we are heard 👍

Despite some of the bad reviews I’ve seen of progress valley? Personally they have helped me many times. I believe recovery isn’t always getting it right the first time. They always welcomed me back with open arms and were proud of me for making the step to come back into an inpatient treatment. I am now going on 5 months sober & am so grateful for the program. If it wasn’t for them and what I’ve learned from them through the years I would probably be dead. Juli is amazing, faith is absolutely a sweetheart and so caring, the director lady Renee used to scare the shit out of me but she just cares about you and is very much just straight forward and wants the best for you. I have seen many people who have graduated the program come back and work there themselves and I believe it’s beautiful because they are also helping their recovery by working with people and helping them stay sober and be supports! I hope one day I could come and work for progress valley! Thank you guys for everything you do & I am sorry that some people have had bad experiences here, progress valley isn’t for everyone just like everyone has different tastes in things. I personally loved progress valley & I always will.

Progress Valley, provided a supportive and personalized treatment experience that significantly aided my recovery journey. The staff were incredibly compassionate and knowledgeable, tailoring therapy sessions to my specific needs. Their commitment to holistic care, including group sessions, individual counseling, and wellness activities, created a safe environment to confront challenges and build coping mechanisms. I especially appreciated the accessible and responsive communication from my therapist, who was always available to address concerns. While the initial adjustment period was difficult, the structured program and dedicated staff helped me develop the tools necessary to maintain sobriety upon discharge. I would highly recommend Progress Valley to anyone seeking quality addiction treatment.

Every time I've needed them over the years, they've risen to the occasion and insisted I'm a former employee there too and I still reference people there. They support Hennepin County amazingly especially the Willard hay neighborhood. I always refer people even if they live over South to go over to North point and they will link you up with the resources you need to get what you need. They ensure that if for some reason your insurance doesn't cover your insulin if it freezes, which is the likelihood in this state while waiting for it to be dropped off at your house, they will help you get your medicines you need and then you'll get the invoice later and they will also help you get the insurance if you don't have it and it'll be backdated 90 days. We need more facilities like this everywhere.

While I can't speak for the in-person services provided, we had a wonderful experience via phone communication. We were trying to help a family member navigate treatment options. We called on a Saturday to discuss what detox services might look like. Tony was the staff member who took our call. He was incredibly informative, kind and non-judgmental. He explained the process for being admitted, what to expect over the days of treatment, and also what we could expect from our family member specific to meth withdrawal. We were fortunate that we were able to get our family member directly into an intensive residential treatment facility, but the information he provided was so helpful in the interim! It took me a couple of months to get around to writing this review, but huge shout out to Tony!

My previous clinic (downtown mpls) closed and so I made an appointment with Janet for my annual checkup based on reading about her background and experience. I did have to wait a while past my appointment time to be seen, however the care I received was well worth it. The nurse that took my vitals was kind and warm, and asked good questions. She gave me my most painless flu shot I’ve ever had! I had prepared some health questions for Janet and she listened to all my concerns, and provided knowledgeable care. I did not feel like I was being rushed, and left knowing I had found my new doctor.

Nystrom has an integrated staff model. Offices are spread out all over the state, but they all work together which allows a quicker pathway for receiving services. Most other offices in one geographic location have waiting lists to be seen which is tough on a patient with emergent mental health issues that exacerbate while left untreated.

Shout out to Fairview Fridley! From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff were calm, patient, and kind, even when my insurance wasn’t showing correctly. They gave me clear options, helped me quickly sort things out, and I was seen within minutes. My nurse was friendly and efficient, and my bloodwork was done so gently I didn’t even feel it. Most importantly, Dr. Green is amazing! Smart, relatable, and genuinely caring. She listened, offered thoughtful advice and some great recommendations and made me feel completely heard and supported. This experience was such a contrast from a different Fairview location I used to visit, where I often felt judged, overlooked, and like the staff were either overworked or disconnected. At Fridley, everything feels different in great way. I have had a handful of web calls with my Doctor now and I’ve been at the clinic 3 times now for annual check ups & I truly say feel cared for and confident in my healthcare team. Huge shoutout to Dr. Green and the entire staff! 🖤

I ended up leaving, but I’m still grateful for the experience. The staff were extremely nice to me, laid back but took their job seriously as well. It’s a general chow hall type scenario, but you can be expected to take care of chores around the living area so I suppose it provides a bit of discipline. I left to go to a program more focused on my mental health problems and so I have more time learning to transition into society. This is a highly cultural specific program, but even if you’re not African American you will fit in and be accepted as long as you are respectful and participate a little. If I felt like I needed substance abuse treatment again, I would come to Turning Point

Best experience I’ve had in any type of therapy or treatment. New Beginnings, and the counselor Kelly in particular, were life changing to me. The structure included substance use coping skills but more information on mental health in general. The care from Kelly was unmistakable. Highly recommended program!

A friend recommended this place to me, as I've been struggling with my mental health (burnout) a lot lately and I haven't been able to get connected with a therapist. Tonight I met with Marrisa virtually and she was so easy to talk to, so empathetic and so helpful. I'm so grateful for this service, because I had the worst breakdown last Wednesday (that I've had in over a decade) and I need to reduce the chances of that ever getting that bad again. Thank you!
