I completed this program back in 2008. Absolutely wonderful doctors, councilors, and staff members. The patients I witnessed coming through those doors, came in broken and really sick from a wide variety of medical issues (mostly addiction related). By the time they left, they were healthy, happier, and had sufficient tools to make a full recovery. I was young and impressionable when I entered their program. The individual care and the loving nature of the staff made the environment warm, comfortable, & safe. I was impressed with how honesty was received there. It was received with open hearts, without fear of judgment or negative criticism. The staff recognized each of us as unique individuals that held great value to society. So many (if not everyone) of us felt worthless and hopeless for the way our culture looks at those who suffer from the progressive and life threatening disease of addiction. Their respect stood out to me and is the primary reason I found the courage to change my life. They also understood the deep suffering that addiction causes and went to any length to help us feel accepted and cared for. The medical professionals employed there taught us how to live a life of gratitude with purpose. To this day I am still eternally grateful for my experience there. I would recommend River Place Counciling Center in Elk River MN to anyone who is seeking to heal and recover. Doesn’t matter from what either. What matters is that you show up. A quick tidbit: I learned all of facts in my journey there. One of them is that our culture is based on materialism and individualism. Which both are the enemies of our soul and the common denominator of our brokenness. It creates division, isolation, and fear. Once I truly understood that, I was never the same. I continued my journey in AA which led to meeting true friends that want the best for me. It also led to a spiritual experience that changed my life forever. There is so much healing, joy, and laughter in recovery, it’s wonderful to experience. I want to tell the person reading this one very important thing —> Don’t you give up. There is a lot of help and happiness in your future. All you have to do is pick up the phone and call them. You’ll find an army of caring and loving souls excited to meet you. You are unique, strong, smart, talented, and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity in your journey of recovery. 🙏🏼❤️ ~Steff P

The nutritionist there is HORRIBLE. I personally am lactose intolerant and when I was admitted my liver was bad, so I needed a diet tailored to helping me recover. She told me if I can’t find anything to just eat from the salad bar. I stood my ground and she let the kitchen staff know I was lactose intolerant and couldn’t eat fried stuff but that is ridiculous I should not have to argue with her. Then my roommate had ARFID so she needed dietary help, and the nutritionist told her to eat bread. That’s a sad and pathetic excuse for a nutritionist. Staffs great but they should certainly fire her.

Very caring staff and a very welcoming environment. Food is very good. Could not have gotta sober or gotten through withdrawals with out coming here. If you or a loved one are struggling this is the best program I have ever attend. It saved my life!

I went here back in 2023 I believe in the beginning of July. I delayed my go and staff was saying you’ll wish you went sooner I did! I loved it this place has been a huge part of my sobriety I wish I could’ve stayed longer than a month! Which they will allow you to stay longer! They do help you find scholarships so you can get in! Do no hesitate just call! I still struggle with addiction but I have slowed down a lot because of this place! They do offer help after just call and make the change here!

Both of my kiddos see Melissa Fairchild. She is hands down the best Dr. I have had for my kids. I have went through a couple different Doctors that wouldn't listen to me or my kiddos about how they felt on different medications or how they felt in general. Melissa m Fairchild has been for the last 3yrs managing myself and my 2 now almost 10yrs old girls meds for our ADHD and other mental health disorders and I honestly couldn't express how much she has helped all 3 of us providing us with meds that not only have helped us stay on track at school and work . She has done a great job making us all feel comfortable she has been nothing but honest and 100% professional ,reliable, and has given me some great advice and has helped me critique some things in how I have been working on my parenting as a single parent and has always given that from(real life experiences)that she has personally experienced and has never came across Ed as Telling me how I should .... I got sober at Transformation House in Fridley 4 years ago. Been sober ever since. My husband got sober at the men’s when it was in Anoka. (We got sober together) he’s also still sober and 4 years clean. We both loved the program it helped us in so many ways. I recommend transformation house to many people. I’m not sure what it’s like now, but when I was there it was great. The best part was the family like setting they had there. The sisterhood was something special. 🙂

I am an alumni, I am from Anoka so after my terrible experience at (the old) River place in Anoka, I went to Transformation house. 8 actually went there a few times , only completed it one time though. I couldn't tell you today how the program is TBH, but back when Betty was the owner (R.I.P.) and when Brian was the head councilor, and Angel was one of the cooks and Natalie was one of the technicians.... Back than that place really helped me out. They were so patient with me, they gave me the opportunity to get whatever I want out of it. Which really is like most places. Whatever you put into it you will get out of it. I hope and pray that the love and care Betty had for people in recovery lives on through Shiloh Ministries (Transformation house)

I can't say enough good things about Transformation House. My experience here was a night and day difference from my previous treatment center. My counselor was incredible – so empathetic and understanding, which made it easier to be honest and work through things. The entire staff genuinely cares about your well-being. It's clear they're not just going through the motions. What I appreciated most was that they focused on helping me find the right path forward, even after I left. The outpatient program they connected me with was fantastic. Today, I'm proud to say I've graduated, I'm in college, I have a job, and most importantly, I have my kids back in my life. My advice to anyone going to Transformation House is to be honest with yourself and your counselor, and truly commit to the process. Stop making excuses and put in the work – they will meet you where you are and provide the support you need. I also built some strong connections with the other women there. The staff creates a supportive environment, but ultimately, your willingness to change is key. Transformation House truly changed my life, and I'm incredibly grateful for how far I've come.

Beautiful facility with kind and helpful staff! The housing is set up in a convenient way to focus clients towards recovery. Clean and healthy environment in housing and facility that promote a stable, trustworthy environment for clients to grow in. Staff members are communicative and oriented towards clients first. Dr. Stacy Hockett, I want you to know that when I got COVID and my physical health was deteriorating, and I was losing weight rapidly due to the post-COVID and COVID symptoms that I still currently have, no other doctor had ever helped me or offered their hand and service while I was struggling and feeling afraid that I would continue to deteriorate and my health would spiral downward, and I felt like I had no ability to control it. All other doctors and physicians outside of Fairview, such as Allina Health, failed me. But when I made the choice to see Dr. Stacy Hockett, I had never, ever made a better choice in my life. This doctor is absolutely amazing. Not only is he patient, kind, merciful, and humanistic, but he is also very good at solving problems. He has been with me through thick and thin, and I refuse to see another provider other than him for my most concerning health needs. He’s always been prompt with getting back to me, he is lightning-fast in his responses, and he makes me feel heard, protected, and safe. I’ve never really had the pleasure of saying this to a doctor while also admiring the passion that he puts into his work, the empathy that he has for people, and the hard work that he has done for me to make me feel whole, safe, and heard. He has never dismissed me; he’s always been nice, kind, and supportive. Never has he said no to me regarding my concerns and my grievances about my health. He has always opted to solve any condition that I have vigorously, not batting an eye when it comes to serving his patients. He is a great, admirable doctor. I would advise anyone who is struggling mentally or physically, especially with COVID symptoms, to seek help from Dr. Stacy Hockett. You will never regret this decision in your life. It’s been years that I’ve been seeing him, and I will never change primary care doctors. I trust in the integrity of his work, and he has made this place a wonderful place because of his work ethic, his honesty, and his respect for privacy. I wish him all the luck, all the peace, all the wealth, and all the happiness that the world can give this person, because he has brought me nothing except peace and happiness. He has made me a better person, because if it weren’t for his help, I would still be stagnant, weak, and feeling crippled. He has changed my life forever and left a meaningful impact, and if he didn’t know this, he knows it now. From the years since he first helped me to today, he has always been the person that I have most deeply appreciated, and I will always admire him. This facility and their program is amazing and saved my life. I have been in this program 4 times I believe. This is not because the program was ineffective but because I was battling a lifetime of issues. The staff is like family to me, they genuinely care and they played a huge role in changing my life. I also participated in their aftercare programs PHP/ partial hospitalization program and the step down program from that was the AMHOP/ adult mental health outpatient program. These were also very effective and a key factor in my rehabilitation. After care is so important, although this was stressed when I was completing my treatment plan I did not take advantage of these services the first few times I completed the inpatient program. However after completing both after care programs, I understood the importance and have been able to maintain my mental health and sobriety. Most everyone dealing with addiction knows 9.8/10, we are self medicating dealing with severe underlying mental health issues. So addressing both issues at the same time was definitely what the missing piece to the puzzle. I highly recommend Mercy Hospital Unity Campus! Oh I didn’t mention the food and beds, way better than any other facility I have been to! I could go on and on about the many positive attributes, but I won’t. The staff is so warm and welcoming, you will feel right at home! I could go on and on about the many positive attributes, but I won’t. Definitely worth investing your time, you will NOT regret your decision to give it a try!

Went in a mess 16 beers a day extremely thirsty so I drank more beer. I wasn't passing water because my liver was so scarred and imflamed. Thought I would putz and brought projects but they allow nothing inside. Hardly books either because of hiding drugs. It wasn't long before I was aprt of a group of zombies milling about. Having to go get blood pressure checks etc. I wanted to be alone and meditate. Easy to get used to this carefree life. Most take advantage all agreeable to the BS to stay longer. The walls started to close in and I left after 3 days. I only have GOD to thank. But I needed to know I could not drink and live. Very hard but now I'm not afraid and I don't want so much. You have to decide.. I jonesd for cigarettes more than beer.

They've helped me quite a bit in my recovery, honestly methadone saved my life. I have over a year of sobriety now and they actually help you taper down and are super supportive unlike other clinics that tend to recommend you stay on it instead of creating a plan. Though it's okay if somebody is on it for the rest of their lives if it's what keeps them clean and safe it even just for harm reduction purposes. They also offer harm reduction services, test kits etc. I have been on MAT for 6+ years here and at 170mg and am almost done with my taper. I'm currently at 15mg and have been able to safely taper and with education on what to expect and support through it. The nurses are great, S/O Michelle, Whitney, Amber, and Jamie for always being so kind and helpful and keeping it real with us and listening when I was struggling. Y'all are what the recovery world needs. Along with both PAs they have, Shelley you've been a wonderful doctor to me. And to both my counselors, Akin, Anne, and Evelyn. Thanks for being a part of my story. 🖤

When making an appointment here, it usually takes a couple weeks to a month to see someone. The doctors I have seen have been pretty good. It's nice that theres a pharmacy at the clinic if needed.

Princeton you deserve all the praise— I got my redemptive c section birth here!! At a different large hospital 1st was emergent after epically failed induction, 2nd was peaceful and calm but recovery didn’t happen well… SO much nerve pain the narcotics were needed just to get to the bathroom. Incision issues, infection, you name it. I am 1 day in of Recovery here and can walk BEAUTIFULLY. Not even comparable to the other hospital, night and day difference. No pain, doctors prayed over me (he asked of course) they dimmed the lights, they played worship music and sang along. They held my hand, they let my husband in for the spinal, and they talked me through it all even my mini panic (the spinal always makes me feel like I can’t breathe just for a little bit). I truly feel like I got my beautiful birth here. I switched cared at 33 weeks felt He called me to this small hospital for sure. They gave me a tap block never was offered this! Worth the hype for difference in recovery! No narcotics needed. Loved every nurse with my whole heart- Dawn, Grace, Dana, and many more. Maria the anesthesiologist you were an angel to me and never left my side during I am so thankful. And Doctor Hallberg thanks for being the first Doctor to listen and truly care for me and my family!!! Blessings to you all.
