I cannot say enough good things about my experience with St. Luke's Mental Health Clinic. I truly hope that my review helps others considering seeking care here. When I entered the building for my first appointment, I was guided to a private room and sat down with a very kind woman who then asked me to share my story. At the end of the hour, she looked at her clipboard and said, "I think (therapist name) is going to be a great fit for you." I was so impressed that St. Luke's took the time to match patients with a therapist who would be their best fit, instead of just sticking them in available slots or making them choose based on online bios. I have been with my therapist for many years now and I can say she is the perfect therapist for my needs, and I am so grateful for the lovely woman who matched us together. Thank you St Luke's for providing top-notch, personalized mental health care.

8 months ago I was there and very satisfied with care received. Friday I was there and spent 2 hours doubled over in pain in waiting room while the guy singing and wanting a beer got taken back despite arriving an hour after me. Then they came out several times for people who had already been called back. FINALLY they called me. put us in a room tossed a blanket and gown on bed said put it on and they'd try to get a dr to me as soon as they could and they left. My pain was not controlled even when they finally put in iv. My nurse calls were ignored. My pain was ignored. My repeated request for pain control were ignored. HOURS LATER when I finally got pain relief it knocked me out and they basically said nothing we can do sent me home with 2 prescriptions sent to northland pharmacy that isn't open on weekends! So go there and suffer and they sent me home to suffer. Ill think twice before going there again. If this is the new Aspirus Im not interested. I've had better care in a big city ER!

I had a very concerning experience with Dr. Lombardi and the OB/GYN team in Duluth, MN. After my surgery, I developed severe pain and went to another facility, where a CT scan clearly showed a post-operative hematoma measuring 6 x 3.4 cm which is more than twice the size of the ovarian cyst that had been removed. Despite this, Dr. Lombardi refused to review the recent CT from the outside facility and repeatedly told me that endometriosis was causing the pain and there was no hematoma present. Days later I finally received the CT report from the outside facility proving my large hematoma was there and I contacted the OBGYN office expecting them to be as concerned as I was, but Dr VanStaaten (the original surgeon) stated they don’t treat postoperative hematomas or treat pain from them because ‘hematomas can’t cause significant pain.’
For days, I’ve been left without adequate pain management or monitoring, and my symptoms were dismissed even though I was always honest and continued to report significant pain and worsening fatigue, lethargy and vomiting. I have felt unheard, unsupported, and unsafe during a serious postoperative complication. Patients deserve to have their imaging reviewed, pain managed and their concerns taken seriously.

This place saved me. They took the time to listen to me, even when I screamed at them because I was having a hard time expressing my emotions and trauma. They never seemed impatient with me and staff would stay with me as long as I needed. They take the time to get to know you and they ask you before putting you on new medications. They took us on fun outings and gave us each our own music player. We even got to pick the music they put on it! They treated us like real people, not just something they were stuck dealing with until their shifts ended like other facilities I was at. I am finally giving this a review roughly 8 years after I left that 30 day transition program. Let’s be honest here, there was some rough moments while I was being assessed but that’s to be expected, why? Because everyone has different needs and working in that type of field, dealing with troubled kids, can be a difficult job. Here are my pros and cons.
KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS REVIEW WAS FROM ROUGHLY 8 YEARS AGO.
Cons:
1) I remembered a staff trimming her nails in the cafeteria while we were having breakfast and to me. It seems like some staff back in the day, worked there just for the convenience.
2) I was treated poorly by other patients in my group because they assumed false things about me.
3) The way they disciplined misbehaved kids was a bit cruel. After they restrained them, they would put them in a concrete room with pads full of (maybe memory foam). Each kid was told to sit on the pad (in the middle of the room) and calm down. There was a security camera in that room for safety, while there was a staff standing outside the room. There was a window high enough for the staff to peek into the room. I personally was in that room a few times and it felt horrible. The only positive thing that came out of that room was being on the other side, being with the group and feeling safe that the misbehaved kid wasn’t with our group for X amount of time.
PRO:
1) I learned what essential oils were and how useful they are to help calm the mind. I remembered a nighttime staff going out of her way to find a specific essential oil for me that was in a different part of the building, so that I can smell it throughout the night and relax during a tough time.
2) I remembered friendly compititions, popsicle stick catapults, street hockey and other friendly compititions where the winner gets one free meal from subway
3) I learned that photography is a great coping skills as well as essential oils.
4) despite having some issues with some other patients, I got a long with other patients.
5) We went to the Burch Barn to do the corn maze
6) we also went to the ecomart to grab some marshmallow fluff
7) despite feeling like some staff are working there for the convenience, I feel like the majority of the staff there are working to help misbehave kids.
8) Staff are very observant and responsive towards misbehaved kids and things that might develop.
Q) Why are you posting this review now and not years ago
A) I am posting this review now because I feel like I have reached my peak at changing. I will admit, it has taken years to change my behavior and learn how to live my life with my new behavior. I am in college for photography and this year is my first year as a freelance photographer. I have reached so many milestones this year, I feel like I have changed who I was and became a better person, with help from Northwest Passage.
I recommend this place to families with stuggling kids because even though I have had some negative experience at this place, I genuinely feel like they want to help those kids develop helpful skills as well as helping families too.

I went to this facility when I was a kid for being a trouble teenager. I had a lot of issues stemming from abandonment, abuse, ADHD. I was told this place was going to help. All it was was psychological torture. If you don't knock on your door frame before you ask a question, you get put on code 3 and you sit in front of a wall for 12 hours. And once the 12 hours is done youre not allowed to talk for 24 hours after that. You can't interact with your peers at all. And if you talk again. 12 hours in front of the wall. There is sooooooo much more I could tell you. Staff members beating children. SA frequently. Place should be burned to the ground.

Minnesota is ranked 20th nationwide in terms of addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $56,630.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Minnesota vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of the treatment types listed above. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below.
There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Minnesota. Most treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Minnesota that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here’s the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment in Minnesota.
Blue Cross Blue Shield is the most widely-accepted insurance for drug rehabs in Minnesota, with 125 treatment centers in the state accepting their insurance. UnitedHealth Group is the 2nd most popular with 111 treatment centers accepting it followed by Cigna in 3rd accepted by 110 drug rehabs.
Minnesota is ranked 6th nationwide in drug rehab admissions, with 1232 rehab admissions per 100,000 population in 2023, which is significantly higher than than the U.S. national average of 621 admissions per 100,000.
The following are the number of Minnesota rehab admissions in 2023 for each of the 6 most frequently used drug classes, as well as the relative percent for each type of drug.
