Key things that set Lake Place apart from the others:
1. Fishing/Outdoors: having access to the lake with paddle boats or fish houses 6 days a week. It's a great bass/northern/crappie lake! I caught many 4-5 lbs! They buy any bait you want!
2. 90 days program generally - but you can stay longer if you need to. Some stay almost a year.
3. Woodshop. Yup.
The owner is the most kind and generous man I've met. Dennis, who is still involved to my knowledge. He eats dinner with us and hosts a group once a week.
The counselors are all great. They are a lot of fun and very helpful.
If you like camp fires, s'mores, frisbee golf, hiking, or the woodshop this is the place.

I really like the folks who work for Altru because they treat me like I actually matter, and like I'm more than just words on a screen or page. I would definitely recommend almost every single medical professional I have seen in the entire system because literally only one doctor has so far not been courteous or caring. I was impressed with this place. I walked in without an appointment and I was greeted and checked in quickly. I sat for a relatively short amount of time before I was seen. The doctor was thorough and friendly and got me in and out in an expected amount of time. The atmosphere was clean, modern, had adequate seating, and is attractive. anytime I can't see my primary care physician I will be back to this walk-in clinic. I went to the ER after a car accident. I hit my head hard. Rear ended by a car going 40-45 mph! The doctor was brief and said it was unlikely I sustained a concussion. I continued my life as usual for the next two days still dizzy, thinking it would go away. By the 3rd day, I knew something was wrong. I was so dizzy and went to my primary doctor. Yes I did have a concussion and have had symptoms for 5 weeks now. I spoke with Aspirus and they sent me a letter saying there was nothing wrong with the care they provided me that day. Everyone makes mistakes. The doctor was wrong with my diagnosis and he should have carefully examined and directed me to rest following the injury. Things may have been different if I knew to care for my brain after that hard hit.

8 months ago I was there and very satisfied with care received. Friday I was there and spent 2 hours doubled over in pain in waiting room while the guy singing and wanting a beer got taken back despite arriving an hour after me. Then they came out several times for people who had already been called back. FINALLY they called me. put us in a room tossed a blanket and gown on bed said put it on and they'd try to get a dr to me as soon as they could and they left. My pain was not controlled even when they finally put in iv. My nurse calls were ignored. My pain was ignored. My repeated request for pain control were ignored. HOURS LATER when I finally got pain relief it knocked me out and they basically said nothing we can do sent me home with 2 prescriptions sent to northland pharmacy that isn't open on weekends! So go there and suffer and they sent me home to suffer. Ill think twice before going there again. If this is the new Aspirus Im not interested. I've had better care in a big city ER!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with St. Luke's Mental Health Clinic. I truly hope that my review helps others considering seeking care here. When I entered the building for my first appointment, I was guided to a private room and sat down with a very kind woman who then asked me to share my story. At the end of the hour, she looked at her clipboard and said, "I think (therapist name) is going to be a great fit for you." I was so impressed that St. Luke's took the time to match patients with a therapist who would be their best fit, instead of just sticking them in available slots or making them choose based on online bios. I have been with my therapist for many years now and I can say she is the perfect therapist for my needs, and I am so grateful for the lovely woman who matched us together. Thank you St Luke's for providing top-notch, personalized mental health care.

Staff are rude and disrespectful. They barge into your room without asking. I unfortunately had no choice in where I went because of my guardian. Staff will tell you to stop talking for no reason. My mental health has gotten worse while here. Staff here don’t care about your safety. There was a resident who is suspected of making meth in her room. This place should be investigated and potentially shut down. They treat you like you are stupid. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Staff is rude. Was there for addiction and they treat you like your literally stupid. Staff does not have compassion. Very unprofessional, they swear way too much.
There is no camera's for safety and I think another girl was making meth in the house. The place should be tested for that. They wouldn't believe me or the other girls about it. I did like the house and location is close to the lake.

She’s extremely kind and welcoming, which makes it easy to open up and feel comfortable in group sessions. She listens with genuine care and offers guidance that feels both supportive and practical.

Was assisting a friend to get appointment, they refused to do tellehealth but wanted them to go there for a tellehealth to a doctor on the west coast somewhere they thought. They did not even know where the doctor was located? How disappointing.

The receptionist are not the friendliest people . Yet the other staff like the ARMS Case Managers and Therapist are very friendly understanding caring and compassionate with there clients very happy with care I received . Especially the care I received from Casi, Allison, Nicole, Meek, and Tanner they all do a wonderful job.

I hate that we are forced to give at least one star. The only thing I would ever give Solutions a 5 star on is a previous provider, Jill McMullen. After Jill left, I was shuffled over to Dr. Meek. I was unimpressed with the “care” I received, but honestly, I see the best psychologist in the region for therapy so I figured I’d just continue with Dr. Meek for my meds until I found someone better. It’s not like he really had any input or bearing on my mental health, (aside from angering me), so I was lazy and continued seeing him via telehealth. My final appointment with him was what did it, he literally took a big ol’ bite of what appeared to be a burger. Just munching away during my telehealth appointment. The lack of professionalism and poor etiquette floored me. Sadly I lost my job and couldn’t switch doctors at the time. Dr. Meek refused to fill a depression medication and two controlled substances, one specifically for anxiety. I could deal with those, but having lost my job and with other personal matters going on, I was desperate to stay on my depression meds at the very least. Without a job I couldn’t afford the $175 appointment so I asked about a payment plan or some kind of assistance. Their sliding scale assistance doesn’t work for psychiatric services so that was a no go. I will say, the billing lady tried to be helpful, but Solutions doesn’t give patients much leeway when they aren’t cash cows. Finally, I tried leaving a message for Dr. Meek, the receptionist was great, I explained my job loss and my request was for him to at least send in a prescription for my depression meds. She took down a message and read it back to me, again, she was great. Needless to say, no prescription was called in and there were zero attempts to reach out to me to let me know he wouldn’t or couldn’t do it. The whole do not stop taking depression medication abruptly is the last thing Solutions cares about. Solutions, and Dr. Meek specifically, would rather a person go off their meds and risk them having another major depressive episode than to assist them with a payment plan or call in a non-controlled medication. Go eat another burger Dr. Meek, you’re a terrible excuse for a doctor.
I just want to point out the number of positive comments/reviews about Jill. She was the best thing to happen at Solutions.
