This place is great. I was very scared to attend but after a week or so, felt at home. The staff is amazing. I just wish we had more time with staff. There is a good amount of peer-led activity and that can be hit or miss. But the sessions with staff were always great.
Food is above average for a place like this and the medical staff is top notch.
I would recommend anybody needing treatment to go to Center City.
For those crying and saying there was no change in their loved-ones... those folks must have not been attending sessions or doing the work provided. I watched grown adults walk in as big zombie children and leave as men - ready to go to the next phase. After your stay, YOU STILL HAVE WORK TO DO. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?

So my experience here was an amazing life changing moment, that is leading the way for me to be successful in my Recovery. From every single RA to the kitchen staff, and everyone else that works there. My counselor was Jon, he was funny, blunt, caring and very smart. Im grateful to have met him. Cheryl and Kelly may seem like tough cookies, but they are god sent human beings that want nothing but the best for each and everyone of you. I see the hate in the comments..... The program is simple, follow the rules, learn, participate, and dont waste a bed for people that really want this!. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Im blessed i got the chance. Burkwood is an amazing place. Their staff truly care and are so rich of information to share about addiction, recovery, and real life. They’re are meant for their jobs. I’ve learned so much while I was there. I valued the daily book we filled out on our own, fully engaging and eye opening. I was lucky to have Pete as my counselor. His approach was thorough and helpful. My only complaint is that it was crowded there and access to phones, bathrooms, and laundry was a bit tricky but maybe that will change at some point. Thank you Burkwood!

My time at Burkwood was amazing, to say the least. The staff were great and it truly is up to you if you want this place to help you! Take what you can from it and be grateful. Reading some of these horrible reviews is crazy to me! It’s not a vacation - for a treatment center it’s pretty damn nice! The classes do get a little monotonous, but for the most part were engaging and helpful. My counselor Derek was the absolute best and the RAs Diane, William, Kristin, Aidan and Ashley were genuine and helpful. They are heavily rooted in AA which I thought I would hate at first, but if you’re just open-minded and listen to what speaks to you it’s not too shabby. They helped me set up IOP and sober living after and I’m enjoying the beginning of my sober life thus far. Thank you Burkwood ❤️

Of all the treatment I've been to in the last 15 years, Lakeshore has been the best in many ways, but there is always a few bad apples in a bunch.
Let me explain;
THE BEST:
Emily Schwab and the other Certified Peer Recovery Specialists dive in, driven by empathy and altruism. Getting everything a person needs in early recovery taken care of for you and lining up everything for our near future.
The Good:
The counselors care and are very attentive to our needs and help build a treatment plan worthy of a valiant attempt from our end.
The Bad:
Chad Walker. The treatment director. He is arrogant and selfish. He knows best, just ask him and he will tell you. He is very brash to people in vulnerable states and seems to have taken it upon himself to make his own rules and designs outside the scope of what EOSIS is trying to do for recovery.
Get a new director and I would recommend this place to anyone.
Also I think CPRS workers, especially ones this dedicated, should be independent contractors. Or, they should get paid more than "I think" they do because of the amount of actual work they do for us!!!

The people here are genuine and so welcoming and welcome newcomers with open arms the intake process is super tedious and long and takes 3 to 4 hours but it’s so so so worth it!!!!! no regrets choosing to come here I promise you will feel the same I can’t say one bad thing about this place at all. If i could give this place 10 stars I honestly would i’m pretty sure this place saved my life

Gwen and Scott are the best. I tried other treatments, but this one is definitely the best. All the other ones I tried, were for profit, and it truly showed, they were more interested in moving you to a higher level of care than actually helping you. My advice, always choose a non profit treatment facility, and Canvas is the one I chose and I highly recommend it.

This facility and their program is amazing and saved my life. I have been in this program 4 times I believe. This is not because the program was ineffective but because I was battling a lifetime of issues. The staff is like family to me, they genuinely care and they played a huge role in changing my life. I also participated in their aftercare programs PHP/ partial hospitalization program and the step down program from that was the AMHOP/ adult mental health outpatient program. These were also very effective and a key factor in my rehabilitation. After care is so important, although this was stressed when I was completing my treatment plan I did not take advantage of these services the first few times I completed the inpatient program. However after completing both after care programs, I understood the importance and have been able to maintain my mental health and sobriety. Most everyone dealing with addiction knows 9.8/10, we are self medicating dealing with severe underlying mental health issues. So addressing both issues at the same time was definitely what the missing piece to the puzzle. I highly recommend Mercy Hospital Unity Campus! Oh I didn’t mention the food and beds, way better than any other facility I have been to! I could go on and on about the many positive attributes, but I won’t. The staff is so warm and welcoming, you will feel right at home! I could go on and on about the many positive attributes, but I won’t. Definitely worth investing your time, you will NOT regret your decision to give it a try!

Went in a mess 16 beers a day extremely thirsty so I drank more beer. I wasn't passing water because my liver was so scarred and imflamed. Thought I would putz and brought projects but they allow nothing inside. Hardly books either because of hiding drugs.
It wasn't long before I was aprt of a group of zombies milling about. Having to go get blood pressure checks etc. I wanted to be alone and meditate. Easy to get used to this carefree life. Most take advantage all agreeable to the BS to stay longer. The walls started to close in and I left after 3 days. I only have GOD to thank. But I needed to know I could not drink and live. Very hard but now I'm not afraid and I don't want so much. You have to decide.. I jonesd for cigarettes more than beer.

CEDAR RIDGE is an essential reason in my return to recovery. Staff; welcoming, skilled, and confident; crucially needed in spite of the COVID pandemic during my brief time there. While I can't speak for the in-person services provided, we had a wonderful experience via phone communication. We were trying to help a family member navigate treatment options. We called on a Saturday to discuss what detox services might look like. Tony was the staff member who took our call. He was incredibly informative, kind and non-judgmental. He explained the process for being admitted, what to expect over the days of treatment, and also what we could expect from our family member specific to meth withdrawal. We were fortunate that we were able to get our family member directly into an intensive residential treatment facility, but the information he provided was so helpful in the interim! It took me a couple of months to get around to writing this review, but huge shout out to Tony!

My previous clinic (downtown mpls) closed and so I made an appointment with Janet for my annual checkup based on reading about her background and experience. I did have to wait a while past my appointment time to be seen, however the care I received was well worth it. The nurse that took my vitals was kind and warm, and asked good questions. She gave me my most painless flu shot I’ve ever had! I had prepared some health questions for Janet and she listened to all my concerns, and provided knowledgeable care. I did not feel like I was being rushed, and left knowing I had found my new doctor.

I have fought my mental health since I was a teen. (51 now)
I was in United Hospital for a few weeks after being off my meds and having some "issues". After the hospital I came here for 90 days of intensive treatment. It has literally changed my life and outlook ON life more than I could've ever imagined. The staff and the other residents have been amazing. I got my meds all lined up and have been taking them religiously. The groups and the actual treatment has helped me enormously to the point that friends I had lost because of WHO I had become with my bipolar flaring up have come back and are so supportive. I will never forget what Maghakian Place has done for me and there's still two months to go. If you need help, trust me....it's out there. Don't be afraid to WIN the battle you've been fighting!!!!! Dr. Kyle Olson has been my doctor for over a decade and a half and no matter how far I have moved, I still drive to go see him. I'm so happy I found him and have stayed with him ever since. Not only is he an amazing doctor with incredible analytical skills and extensive experience who looks out for your best interest but he is also very genuine, kind, easy to talk to and get along with. He's been there for me through my highs and lows and has been my rock. I moved from Florida to have a surgery done at Gillette for my daughter with CP. She had a surgery about five years ago and the aftercare has been wonderful! Her surgeon Dr. Georgiotis did a beautiful job. He explained everything in detail. He has great bedside manner, and has treated us very well over the years. We also enjoyed our stay there which included a one week stay after the surgery, and another 4 to 5 weeks stay for her inpatient.

If I could remember everyone’s names from start to finish of our 24 hour stay I would certainly give thanks to them all. Every single staff member we came across was beyond kind and helpful. My daughter and son had amazing experiences and they actually have BRAGGED about surgery to their little 4 and 2 year old friends. You guys made everything so easy. I was beyond impressed with everyone however I’d like to give one specific shout out to Megan a PICU RN that was spending her time in the Rehab unit. She was our first nurse to attend to our recovery room with my son for his 24 hour stay. My son loved her and she was GREAT with him. Made sure she got to know him, showered him with love, and constantly was his cheerleader. Hoping she receives some sort of recognition or more for her excellent patient care.

After going through some negative situations at other locations Christine M. Jensen at this location has truly been a breath of fresh air along with her nurse which I believe her name is Kristen. (I’m so sorry if I got that wrong) This doctor and her care team are so compassionate and kind. They treat you like actual human beings instead of another number walking through the doors. I have never felt so heard or cared for before. I wish there were a million of her at every location, because if there were healthcare would be an entirely different and positive experience. The environment is really comfortable and welcoming. It’s easy to find where you’re going, and the therapist I’m seeing here has been a great fit! If there was someone I knew looking for help, I’d recommend them to Nystrom! Not only are there one on one sessions with either a dual licensed therapist/addiction specialist, but there are also numerous group’s! My father was an alcoholic of 20 years (my whole life) and Nystrom helped him get sober!

I went here 6 years ago and at the time I was another moody teen with ODD. I hated most aspects of everything and I always acted out whenever I could. The experience was next to none though. Jack was hands down the best counselor/director and everything I needed to push me to be me today. If it wasn't for these guys at this center I wouldn't be alive today. This isn't even mentioning Michelle. Rest in Peace. I couldn't be happier with my experience at On-Belay. I still feel like I'm mountain climbing and these guys are spotting me from a million miles away.

Awesome staff, bring my inverted bother who fuses to see doctors @72 years old had a stroke, it took us 6 hour to convince him to go to the Hudson emergence room. The doctor was very informative plus convinced my brother to stay over night to prevent another stroke.
Dr. Reierson is amazing trying to figure out best plan for my brother. All the nurses are very special, gently dealing with all my brothers phobia’s. A very special Thank You, to the night team nurses Sophia and Ciara never missed a beat dealing with a difficult episode and keeping my brother clam and caring for him as much as they did. After 5 days and letting me stay with my brother every step of the way, really warmed my heart. He would have never mentally survived the big hospital in the cities. Thank you all for all you do.❤️
