The place is ran by a few former addict's that have been through addiction and overcome addiction through Fairland. I like the fact that I can talk to an addict that has been through the struggle of addiction not just some snobby educated person who never been through addiction nor understand enough to express addiction unless it's they're on assumption looking from the outside in. Stonewater was the first part of his recovery and our family will forever be grateful for the tools and support he was given during that first 90 days. With Stonewater's structured program, removing distraction relearning to slow down and enjoy his surroundings. He started thinking more clearly and was able to realize that if he wanted to live a full life, he was going to have to put in the work to stay sober. And he certainly has. My sister was extremely scared when she first dropped him off at Stonewater and kept questioning if she had made the right decision. But very quickly I noticed a change in her and she began to relax and actually smile again. She was able to attend support groups and education workshops, and even be involved in therapy sessions all while living in a different state. The wisdom he shared—and the time he personally took to answer my questions—was unlike anything I’ve encountered elsewhere. His perspective on focusing on small, steady progress has stayed with me and continues to guide how I support my son. For the first time in years, I see real hope.
