Update: 2025 Should have updated this long ago, but this VA clinic has gotten Sooo much better the last couple of years. Staff is friendly, helpful, and now return phone calls within a few hours. I feel heard and health concerns are taken care of soon. Thanks for all you do. I'm shocked and dismayed that something has not been done to aid the suffering veterans that are subject to the poor care provided ... wait, to say provided would imply that SOME care has been given by this clinic. It appears that rather than answer calls they just hang up and if you're lucky enough to be to wait through the useless voicemail system and are able to leave a message it won't be returned. I've been trying to get through to this clinic for over six months and have yet to make contact. I've written my senators and an currently working on placing an OIG complaint. This office needs to be investigated and if need be, totally restaffed. Veterans should not have to put up with this kind of mistreatment after having served to protect their country.

This clinic works as a go to place near Meridian MS. Offers a lab, nurses, social workers, and ways to check on VA appointments. The only real problem is the parking lot in front is tight and drivers sometimes hit parked vehicles. The other issue is it opens at 0800, would be great especially 2 days a week is to open early to do bloodwork at lab so one can then get to work after.

Great place. Staff was very friendly. Dr. Hipp has the best bedside manner. Took our 4yo girl in for a cut to her eyebrow. He played with her and get her to relax before glueing the wound shut. If I could, I would check 10 out of 5 stars. Defining Wellness was not the first treatment center I had attended, it was the fourth; two IOPs and a residential treatment center prior. I can't fully put into words the difference in the quality of care I received at Defining Wellness. I thought the first treatment center I went to was great and I made it a little over two weeks before I relapsed. I went to an IOP shortly after and had my first large period of sobriety and then, relapse. I made it about two weeks after my second IOP before I made the decision that I needed a higher level of care and was referred to Defining Wellness. The facility was super nice. 5 star luxury accommodations? Close, but the facility far exceeded my expectations. What made the difference and very literally saved my life was that staff. These people pour their hearts and souls into ensuring their clients are taken care of to the best of their abilities. In the 48 days I was there between detox, residential and residential PHP I never had the same class. I never experienced boredom from being told the same thing over and over again. Counselors took their personal time to speak with me if I had questions or just to talk to me to see how I was doing. The classes we had daily were well thought out and conducted by people that obviously had an intense passion about bettering the lives of others. I am days away from beating my "record" of the longest period of sobriety I've ever had and I owe every single day to the faculty of Defining Wellness. I would recommend this facility to anyone who genuinely wants to learn that they may have to live with their disease for the rest of their life, but they can live it without using ever again. I have accepted and am comfortable with the fact that I never have to drink again. Thank you to everyone at Defining Wellness for saving my life and allowing me to start the process of finding myself after 25 years of redefining my rock bottom over and over again.

I know medical centers—especially VA facilities—can receive mixed reviews, but I want to take a moment to highlight the amazing work and dedication of the staff at the G.V. Many of the doctors, nurses, and support staff go above and beyond every day, often under challenging circumstances, to make sure veterans are treated with respect, compassion, and dignity. The staff works hard to listen, advocate, and provide the best care possible, and that commitment does not go unnoticed.
