I have family members that have been there and the staff were very kind and always helpful. The nurse practitioner is Very kind and patient evaluating every possibility to help someone the best way they can. Like most places they probably get super busy or behind at times, but that came with Changes with Covid.
I see the results of Region8 patients almost on a daily basis. Anything from depression, anxiety, alcoholism,, bipolar, schizophrenia, and more mental health issues for adults and children than I could ever list. Thank you, Region8 and all of your staff for your presence in our community. I greatly appreciate everything you’ve done for everybody. Actually facilities was extremely clean n comfortable spacious kinda. You do have to share room n bathroom with 1 to 3 other clients. Facility extremely good at what they do. Food was fantastic. At times u feel like there should be more to do but in the end sobering up n dealing with issues u will be grateful for the rest. I would recommend this facility to others the staff helped me n cared about me I’ll never forget them. Not 5 star only cause limited smoke breaks! They hold your smokes and there are 9 allotted smoke breaks a day. Issues with getting more when u ran out even tho u had money with u n they could go to the store for shampoo for u but refused to purchase smokes n u would get punished if caught sharing

Counseling and group therapy are the best things about this place in my experience. The staff is friendly and supportive. If you apply yourself and are willing you will be able to learn a lot. I recently visited the VA Benefits counseling office with my 100% disabled veteran father. Jimmie was an excellent counselor who was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was very patient, took extra time to answer all of our questions, and even helped my Dad fill out needed forms. The VA needs more people like Jimmie!

Palmetto is the best treatment center in Louisiana by far. Stuart, Jerry, Joseph and Beck have certainly changed my life for the better. I would say that they gave me a life. A second chance! I thank God I started going to Region 8. They have helped me so very much. I did have a few therapist that were not the right fit for me, so I requested a change and now I have been seeing the same one for over a year and have finally started seeing improvement. Everyone there has been great. The front desk staff are not the best but you find people who are not that nice at any place. The people who are there to help in the back have always been wonderful to me.

I have been very pleased with my son's doctor and therapist at Region 8. His doctor doesn't just write a prescription. She thoroughly questions my son and me to ensure he is getting the proper medicine, dose, and the proper care. His therapist is absolutely wonderful. She has consistently, every two weeks, visited my son at school, at home, and even now during the summer, for several years now. My son's Region 8 doctor and therapist work as a team with me and his teachers to make sure that my son gets the best care possible.

honestly, this place is genuinely not as bad as the reviews make it sound i mean it’s a mental hospital. the quality of the place means nothing compared to the staff and the way they handle their paitents. i had a really good experience here and i think it benifited me very much. i was in there for ten days and i met a tech, Ms Keya. I will never forget her. she touched my life in a way i could never explain. she inspired me to want to go work in one of these places when im older. I’m only 15 and this place had some really good staff & the therapist Mrs. Kelly that woman helped me so much throughout the way. there was also a tech named Mr. George who always made sure his paitents were having a good time considering the circumstance. He called me Ashlee with 2 E’s lol. i definitely recommend this hospital if you need mental help or etc. (i hope they all see this)

I came to this place the 19th of December 2024. It was a nice facility! They treated me with respect and compassion. The techs/nurses played bingo with us, we did arts and crafts, they took us outside for fresh air, they were all for the most part very professional and caring! A few people stood out to me.
