The staff at the Aviary, particularly the wonderful nurses, were a crucial factor in my experience. The program's structure is solid if you listen, learn and keep an open mind. The group experience was average, although some were much better than others. All in all, I am very grateful that I found a place to heal and clear my mind. I have to say the food is average, and the "barn" needs central air. I had to leave a few times because of the heat. However, I needed help, and I found it here. Jeremy and Casey saved my life and would not let me give up. I'm very grateful to both of them.

Best decision ever! Been in & out of other rehabs & various flavors of anonymous meetings for 20 years, always ending in relapse, over & over. Instead of blaming anxiety & depression, and throwing psych pills at me, The Aviary taught me to look within for the answer. I'm now 18 months into recovery, anxiety & depression are minimal at worst, and all without psych meds. I love it! Go there with humility and an open mind, they will help you find the way to peace of mind, no substance required.

So glad this clinic moved here last year. It is less than a mile from my apartment. Steen group of employees, but efficient in their duties. If you make them laugh, they really loosen up. Just don’t grab at any candy on the counter within reach. They laugh, but it is an evil laugh, like your hand was theirs for desert. Like them all.

I'm not very computer savvy so I don't write many reviews, but I have to take a minute to tell you about Kenzie and Heather. I've had quite a few social workers and I never had a peer counselor, but they are top notch and people that need to help others in the social worker and peer counseling field. I was always reluctant to have a social worker because I never had help, but since these two I now have hope for the future. They both are excellent and caring workers that want to make a difference in their patients lives. They made me feel safe and that they wanted me know that I could have faith in living each day with meaning in my life. I just wanted to thank both of them for their outstanding and excellent care. I want to also thank you both for letting me talk about anything I wanted to with you guys. I'll never forget you guys. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you two ❤️❤️❤️

I was on suboxone a long time no issues. My other provider and myself decided after a medication interaction and a diagnosis of early onset arthritis due to being hiv positive over 12 years. I started having some withdrawal, and ultimately decided going back on methadone was going to be my best bet. I contacted them, and spoke to a counselor, Aaron. Right away he made me feel welcomed!!!!! I came in for my intake in February, and have been doing fantastic ever since!!!!! I really appreciate the compassion, and welcoming environment. I would gladly recommend them to anyone wanting help getting off opioids!!! Many options, and they have Narcan available in the office most of the time!!!!!’ From the Counselors, nurses, doctor, everyone!!!!! They always comment how much better I look since I started at the clinic too, and I love that!!!!!! I know you all deal with a lot!!!!! The recovery community is most definitely needy, and yall always take care of us!!!! Dr Swope and Nurse Alicia have been the absolute best!!!!!! I’m a bit far from the clinic (which they helped me get on take homes because of this), but so so blessed to have this place as a part of my recovery family!!!!!!

I went to SSM for an accidental overdose for 2 weeks on my ADHD stimulants. The following day my symptoms worsened and I called SSM and they informed me that they did not have a Psychiatrist on staff and I was therefore sent to BJC in Wentzville. Thank God!! Everything about this hospital far exceeded my expectations!! When I got there, I was the only person waiting to be seen! The gentleman at the front desk was so kind and even though he was just trying to get a little basic info., he let me rattle on all my symptoms without interrupting me. After a long period of excessive talking, he gently told me that I could talk about all of this with the Psychiatrist, which put me at ease! I was walked back to a private room which has never happened to me and I have been to many hospitals. I didn’t have to go through triage and my vitals were taken in my room by a super caring lady! The security guard came in and he could not have been any nicer!! He told me everything to expect and went through my bags and sent everything out to the car with my husband except my coat and shoes. He indicated that I could not have my med. Box with me which did scare me because historically I have not been given my meds. Until after seeing the doctor and the pharmacist. He could tell I was nervous and requested that the nurse update me on this procedure. She immediately came in and told me that she had my medication list and I would receive all of my meds. On-time. The doctor came to see me within 30 min. And was the nicest and most informative doctor that I have ever had and spent 30 min. With me giving me all the medical recommendations he had as I also had a severe viral infection causing sores all over my mouth, severe body aches, bruises all over my body, including under my eye. I told him what the 1st hospital had recommended I do, and he informed to stop all of it and that it would only irritate my infection, especially all the over-the-counter items I was using. He spoke with the Psychiatrist and came back to see me again after getting the Psychiatrists course of action, and spent another 30 min. With me extensively answering all of my questions. This was rare because I had a lot and at most hospitals you are lucky to get 10-15 questions with the doctor. The nurse was also very helpful getting me an extra pillow and 4 cups of ice chips because it was was the only thing easing the pain in my mouth. I was quickly discharged feeling like my husband, who stayed with me the whole time, and I could manage my treatment plan!! The best hospital I have ever been to and will never go anywhere else, as well as referring anyone I know with a medical or mental health crisis!!!

The staff does their best to help the people that are willing to take the help. They have not only help me with my PTSD, but they’ve helped my youngest son when he needed it most. They teach communication skills, learning respectful and affective manners, self control and ability to be aware, mindful and insightful of self and others around us. And most importantly help the kids learn how to utilize resources and choose to control as well as contributing patience to set goals to let things take time needed. As well as maintaining the idea to be active in being responsible by having chores and set routines. Workers throughout always act on situations in needs and impact the clients and their views because of their true genuine positivity in they’re methods. They always have consistent, structured groups and activities, constantly making sure the kids have fun. Consistently giving engaging life skills and how to function in an everyday life in the outside world. Full of good energy, love, compassion, kindness, reliable, consideration towards each client, but still holding ground to teach kids to take no for an answer, showing and modeling negative, hateful, disrespectful or ignorant behaviors are not acceptable. Really healthy and effective place. BUT ONE DOWNSIDE IS KYLA IS A HORRIBLE THERAPIST😉
