Can’t say enough good things about Compass in general, but what made me write this review specifically is one of your psychologists, Cody Bond. As someone who’s seen multiple therapists and psychologists over the course of the last 10 years, Cody is the most notable one I’ve ever had and I’m so thankful for him and everything he’s done for me. Cody’s not just a great psychologist, but a great person in general and he’s never once made me feel dismissed or unheard. I’ve never cried like I lost a family member over losing my psychologist/therapist like I have today. I’m so happy for Cody and his future endeavors but I’m so sad that I’m losing him. Compass has a good one in Cody Bond and I’m so happy to see Compass recognizing him for what he does. He definitely deserves this. Cody, if you see this, thank you so much and have a wonderful life!!! 🤗

First I want to say that most people do not "want" to be hear, so its going to be difficult to give something five stars. This isn't a vacation, its a hospital that provides help to those who need it. This is something it does extremely well at. My daughter loved the staff and said they made a hard program much more tolerable. She loved the staff and misses them still, but they provided the help she needed. I hope we never return, but if ever considering a place, please consider Heartland!!! I honestly had struggled at the beginning of my stay at heartland I was in subacute then I moved to residential when I was on subacute I had very bad anger problems I would always wanna fight, then when moving to unit 2 west I still wasn't making any progress in my treatment,so my team at heartland decided to move me to 2 central at first I was like "no I don't wanna move units" but as time passed I came to realize that it was for the best and that I could try harder to focus on myself yes not gonna lie I did have anger issues when I moved to 2 central but after awhile I learned how to manage my emotions I had went through hell and back while being at heartland but I had a whole team to help me get through it all I was in the facility for 8 months and now I'm getting on my feet and becoming a better version of myself I really can't think the staff at heartland enough for picking me up when I was feeling down and I don't know if I would be the person I am becoming if it wasn't for them they seen me cry the seen me mad the seen every little thing about me and not gonna lie at first I didn't trust anyone not even my therapist Desmond but as time went by I started talking to people at how I really felt I can honestly say that heartland has saved me from ruining my life and I used to not be good at school until I went to heartland when I started to do school there I worked really hard and I finished so many classes before I left and now it's like I can do anything I want me ive learned so much about myself and what I want to do with my future the staff also encouraged me to follow the same dream I've had since I was 5 so that's what I'm going to do I'm going to go to college and I'm going to be a play therapist for kids that is struggling and needs the extra support I'm going to help pick kids up when they are feeling down I will be the person that they can count on cause I know how much heartland has done the same for me so shout out to Desmond fleener for being the best therapist for me and showing me how to manage my anger and how to trust people again!!

So we are only about 1 month in and my granddaughter likes the kids here and a few of the staff. She liked the staff at Perimeter better because she felt they cared more. I am hoping that she starts to feel more hopeful and more caring coming from Heartland staff. She understand the program only works if you work it. I know she want to get home so I am hopeful that this experience is going to help her. I will edit review or add another one when we get closer to release. Just for now being prayerful and hopeful
