I’m leaving five stars due to the nurse, Mary Kay, Seneca, who works upfront, and my psychiatrist Fran. Mary Kay is very helpful with solving issues and always calls back to give you an update. Seneca had advocated for me through a very difficult situation that I was going through with a psychiatrist at the family counseling center. My new psychiatrist Fran is a fresh of breath air from who I’ve dealt with there in the 6 years. She understood the situation that occurred and did not judge me, instead, she asked me what happened and listened to me and made her own judgment call.

I have to say every time I call the Family counseling center, I have to say that Seneca( I hope I’m spelling her name right) has always advocated for me. She has helped me in many different situations and has resolved issues that were taking a long time when I would speak to others. She’s very caring, takes the time to really listen, and makes sure to do everything in her power to resolve an issue or get the patient a call back. I have to say that she is one of the most genuine ladies that work at the front desk and I appreciate everything she has done for me in the past and going forward! You can honestly tell she truly loves her job and helping those in need!!!!!

I had zero issues with this clinic. Everyone as extremely polite and particular. In and out for lab work in 15 minutes. Someone picked up the phone as soon as I called and I was able to get in for an appointment fairly quick.

I was here for aftercare from st marys intensive out-patient treatment downstairs. I was able to work through many of my past issues that made me self medicate with alcohol. I was diagnosed with Chronic depression & Alcoholism since the age of 13 and was 40 years old at the time of my treatment. I was put on meds(anti depressants) and did group & one on one counseling and many A.A. Meetings & I celebrate 13 yrs sober January 3, 2020. I completed the 28 day inpatient rehab for my substance abuse problems. Boss Lauren takes very special care to curate a wonderful staff that all have their own amazing unique addition to the department. Staff there have all been there a while so it's not like most healthcare with high staff turnover. They are down a few staff when I was there so my only complaint is because of that. There's just not enough time in the day for the staff to get to all 14 patients every concern, need, gripe, request, or vent session. That said, important things are ALWAYS taken care of asap. It's the little seemingly petty things that staff doesn't always have the time to address as much as they'd like to. It's only a 14 bed facility in a hospital setting so you bet for the most part you're going to get some really great individualized counseling care and treatment plan that really is built around each person's specific needs and goals. It's a great program. Like anywhere you have to want it to get the most out of it. Of course you never know what the atmosphere is gonna be like because of the changing patients it's never a guarantee you'll go into a good or bad bunch. There is no sneaking doing drugs or smoking there, no sexual foolery. It's to small of a facility to have those kinds of problems and thank God cause that's the worst things to have to deal with when going to rehab. It's not like some places where u end up coming out with more connections and being more educated on how to be an addict then before u went in. You come out with more community help resources and, with tools for being an addict in recovery. I recommend this place with all my heart. There are a few staff that I'm positive have secret angel wings stuffed under their shirts.

Methadone maintenance is the gold standard for opiate addiction for a reason. This stuff works, in addition I’ll add my counselor Katie is a straight up G. She truly cares about her clients. The rest of the admin staff is lovely as well. Our dosing nurses are fast and friendly. The only negative is the head nurse zaria or whatever, she leaves ALOT to be desired to say the least. How she is a medical professional at all is honestly a mystery.

I was there back in 98-99 and really started working a program when my county decided that hey had Tx for me there and within 6 weeks I went back out, came back in again and again until mid 2002. I still remember my counselor at Purcell, Andrew saying that everything I lost due to alcohol and/or drugs will come back to me in a bigger, better form and he was so right! I am so happy to see Purcell House is still there-just not so happy why it needs to be! Thanks

Miss Tara B and Miss Laura M are two of the most helpful and ambitious counselors that I have come across in 35 yrs while in and out of multiple rehabs. Had it not been for them I certainly would not have had a safe environment to discharge to. I would also like to say neither of them were even my assigned Case Manager but were still willing to go above and beyond on multiple occasions to help with with whatever I needed while I was there. They are two of the most down to earth staff that I have ever encountered. Conifer Park should feel honored to have them be part of their staff. You can tell they BOTH care deeply about their patients and is shows through their quality of work!. I highly recommend requesting them if that's possible if you ever need help with your recovery!

*Important* u have to bring ur own 30 day supply of your medications. I'll start with one of the most important things for me: I'm a transgender man who was treated with dignity and respect by the staff and clients alike. Rehab reviews never talk about what places are safe for us so just wanted to say that. Most of the staff rly cares. Place is clean. Food is mid. Beds are mid. But u know what? I knew where I was going to sleep that night, I knew I was safe. I knew I had 3 hot meals a day that I didn't have to search, beg for, or steal. I knew I could take a shower every day, even twice if I wanted. Laundry. Etc. The point of this center is to get u away from your life for 30 days to let ur brain and body recover from the hell you've been living in due to addiction. This is a hospital setting so there's tons of weird and frankly ridiculous rules like "no exercising" (u can power walk around the court yard but thats it) bc it's some kind of liability to the hospital?? Idk just do push ups in ur room w the door closed. Most addicts know how to work around rules and manipulate a system so just make the best of it. But fr it's insane to see and hear ppl complain about this place as if it's not a respite from being sick tired miserable. The ppl who complained the most I chalked it up to their life hasn't gotten bad enough yet to be truly ready for recovery. They don't seem to understand that the opportunity to be here is a blessing that ppl in many states will never have the chance to get. The NY healthcare system is better than any other state I've lived in. There are many ppl in other places who will never have the opportunity to go to rehab. I had a one day relapse a month after I left and now have 1 year and 11 months sober. Beginning my recovery journey here was exactly what I needed to separate my mind and body from the hell I was in. Thank u to the staff from Nov 2023. Nicole is the reason I decided to stay sober when I left. I had given up hope of staying sober during my stay but she had a long talk with me the night before I left that really changed my life.

I love The St Jude Retreat. I attended the Mountain location that was in Wells, NY- I wouldn’t trade what I was taught for anything. It is called The Freedom Model for a reason. ❤️❤️❤️Their program uses science and a genuine look at life regarding both what worked and what didn’t about all of the choices I made. I don’t believe daily declarations that we are “powerless” offer much growth like other modalities. I’m in long term recovery for 8+ yrs and I’m not anonymous, nor ashamed or regretful bc I can own every choice. It was a combo of St Jude’s and Landmark courses combined. I highly recommend if you or someone you know, has frequent relapses and 12 step places haven’t made a lasting impact, or if you’re someone who appreciates the rational and science behind our behaviors. I will say, I did my assignments , procrastinated at some, but I did them. I didn’t have anything to lose and I went in there disbelieving anything could have me believe that I could live happy without CM. I didn’t want to go at all lol! Back then it took hell and high water to get me on a plane, (I missed flight on more than 1 occasion) but Im so grateful I did eventually get on the flight and make it there. Best advice from Rit Santelli… “Don’t give up what you want most, for what you want in the moment”- I had triggers when I got home to Tx back then, but I knew what was happening and what I wanted most mattered more. I had the fortunate chance to be sent to St Jude over 20 years ago and though I had a few slips along the way never long lasting I remembered the training I got there about how to center and make changes. I am now helping a roommate from there who is about to be released from Prison after a crime he committed in 2006. The only thing that keeps us sober is our experience at St. Jude and you may think it is easy to stay sober when in prison. You are so wrong! Though not happy with his crime my wife and I am supporting his release because I know it was a under the influence crime that drugs lead to. Being clean makes for better decision making. I learned that at St. Jude. Duh!

Everyone here is absolutely lovely!!! Everyone knows what they're doing, and the technicians all seem genuinely concerned about patient comfort. Couldn't recommend a better sleep center! If you're going in for a polysomnography or MSLT, I found the beds to be quite comfortable, but you may want to bring your own blankets and pillows if you're accustomed to them. If it's too warm, the windows can be opened.
