I give them five stars because I am diabetic and they on it like definitely on it. The only thing I don’t like is back to back appointments. I do not receive Medicaid and this is out come from my pockets so financially it hurts a little bit but as for the doctors, they perfectly great great, the only thing I said is back to back appointment for the same thing with different doctors but other than that, they absolutely great

I think the clinical staff does the best they can, but the environment is not the best for healing.The psychiatrist should just leave and let the social workers and therapist handle the patients. It appears to me the psychiatrists need therapy. Patients do not feel safe there

I went here almost a year ago. Before going in I was diagnosed by my psychiatrists at the time and they prescribed me with a stimulant. I was still in the “testing phase” of it and when I was admitted, they didn’t allow me to continue the medication messing it up for me and put me on 6 different medications for bipolar and told me I didn’t have ADHD. During my time there, some of the staff didn’t treat the patients right. There was this older lady who was yelling at a patient at 6 in the morning. I stuck my head out to see what was happening because it woke me up and then I asked the lady who was sitting at the end of the hallway using her phone what the time was because I didn’t want to walk down the halls just to see the time because I knew it would wake me up and I wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep plus she OBVIOUSLY could just check real quick. This woman told me to go look at the clock. I was so annoyed with this and that was just the bare minimum of the rude staff. Some of the staff was nice. Also when it came time to eat, they kept giving me food with ingredients I’m allergic too. Nothing severe but things that would make me feel sick like lactose. The things I saw in there were also completely traumatizing. I understand it’s a mental hospital but damn. I thought they were supposed to help not make things worse.
Wanted to edit this because i forgot some other things. One was that you had to “behave” in order to get some “outside” time which was just this time court yard in the middle of the buildings with very minimal sunlight. You could also go get some vending machine food from there if you had some money. You also couldn’t call anyone for free. You’d have to pay ¢25/call for like 5 minutes at most unless they called you first. The only time you got to call someone for free was at a specific time (I think it was around 9-10am) for like 10-15 minutes. Another was, at least in the female wing, the only show that was remotely entertaining was the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit which I have been S.A. (and more) in the past which made this extremely traumatizing again.

Especially the Counselors, My Counselor in Particular. Her Name was Jenn. A Wonderful Person and an Absolute Dear young Lady.
She was Extremely informative and Knows just how to make you feel Comfortable and Cared For.
I was going through a Rough patch, but looked Forward to my meetings with her every week and Every time I left her office, I ALWAYS FELT BETTER AND FELT LIKE SOMEONE CARED..
I can Honestly Say, Meeting Jenn was a Highlight of my Time there.
I only left there because I found a place Much Closer to my home out East.
But my Counselor there will always be close to my heart.

I was so lost and giving up on life and a few good suggestions brought me here. Everyone from the friar in charge of the inn to security and maintenance made me feel welcome. The counselors are the best I’ve ever dealt with. My counselor was amazing, the physco therapist helped me realize things on my own and a former resident who is now staff related to my issues making me comfortable with the process. That guy was a godsend. These people helped me with my addiction issues more in 6 months then I’ve been able to do over the last 30 years. I was there November 10 2025 for a kidney stone procedure. It was beyond exceptional. Everyone had their jobs to do and it was done beyond my expectations . I could have easily gone to Mt Sinai or New York Presbyterian. But all my records are with the VA hospital and since I been going to them for about 6 years now I feel very comfortable. After I was sent home two days later I had a setback ,in excruciating pain and literally living two blocks away from NY Presbyterian I chose to go to the VA emergency care. It was 2:30am and 7 minutes later I was on a bed in the Urgent care with meds in my system pain free. I remember all the faces but not the names in the Urgent Care unit. people are constantly thanking me for my service . But God bless them all at the VA.

Great service offered to persons in need they have a methadone clinic and a residence. It is like a one-stop shop except there is no detox service offered. There are groups and structured programs for clients. I know of persons who have used the service and are now successful. If they did it, so can others. Staff listen to clients and create a system that caters to each and meet them where they at, while holding your hand safely during the process. Well done and thanks

Went here for a couple months in 2022, specifically the therapist Casey was a huge help when my dad passed and made an effort to help me figure out I had depression and helped my family get through tough times and helped us with donations, who also helped my family in 2016 and donated toys ❤️❤️❤️

‘Hurt People , Hurt People’. I needed a free therapist and was able to have 5 intake sessions with a pleasant young woman. I benefited from these sessions as it is always rewarding when we analyze and acknowledge what is going on in our lives. So much was happening for me and I was not able to attend all the assigned sessions. Management was not able to communicate in a responsible or mature manner; I wonder maybe they too are prior clients who have graduated but do not have a total grip on their situation and sometimes need help themselves. My very pleasant intake person became insensitive, cold, ‘passive aggressive’ and quite non communicative. I lead the conversation and realized that I was being ‘expelled’. I really don’t know the reason as I do believe she has her own issues and the Leadership is not of a strong foundation with knowledge of servicing a diverse clientele. Such a shame because this has the potential to be a top notch program in a great community. I only wish I was able to find an experienced, strong, qualified leadership that is familiar with diversity and respect. I was feeling hurt as this was the second time I had to deal with leadership’s lack of sensitivity. It should not be just a JOB when people come to you for help. Fix the structure of this place.

While attending a program at the Harlem Parish next door, my mother of 91 had an non-emergency, urgent situation. We entered the facility not knowing what to expect. We were greeted with upmost respect and kindness. From the security detail at the door to the 2 receptionists at the window, these wonderful people worked collectively to get us what we need to attend the program comfortably. I am so thankful for the kindness and compassion that was extended to us.
