I am from way out of town up in Maryland and didn't know what to expect from southern emergency services late at night. Everyone from the front desk intake to the nurses and the doctor were the absolute best. Everyone took the time to explain and answer questions while being friendly to me and my wife. The facility was very clean and technically up to date. Hope I don't ever have to come back but will be glad your hospital is close by if ever needed again. Many special thanks to Thomas Hunter, MD and Caitlyn and Sheryl, RNs.

Just left this a.m, it's actually a state - run faxility but honestly a good one. The food is plentiful and tastes decent, they provide 2 meaks a day plus 3 snacks, the rooms are 2 person rooms but they try to give you a room by yourself if possible, the place is clean and the staff are kind and professional, slept great and most folks are given valium for the first few days which of course makes the detox process as comfortable as possible. I did the detox did not go to unit 5(the rehab unit). Good place I highly recommend 👍

The head doctor there pissed me off and I love him for it! I checked myself in not knowing I was committing to a minimum of 72 hours. Once admitted, you are stuck for 72 hours. You have to sign a waiver stating you release them of liability if you leave before they release you. I was furious when I found out and immediately signed the release so the clock would start. The next morning I woke at 6-7 am with the doctor and a few others standing in my room. He said “ You have a chance to beat this if you give me time to wean you off alcohol. If you leave too soon you will probably have severe withdrawals and drink again. Give me more time to care for you properly. You have my word that I will get you discharged as soon as possible.” I agreed. I felt frustrated and stuck, but I stayed. I thank God I did! Today I am 43 days sober. 45 days ago I didn’t know if I could get sober and make it stick. If I had left too soon, who knows what would’ve happened? The staff was amazing. One of the nurses (a blonde lady) was quite rude and seemed to only be there for a check. The rest were amazing. I can imagine dealing with a bunch of us going through a mental and emotional roller coaster has to be frustrating for them, yet they seem to really enjoy their work and seem to care about you. If you need help, these people are great. Their program works if you stay and work with them. Give them the time needed to help you. Also make sure you have support when you leave. I chose AA and it has made all the difference. Treat sobriety like your life depends on it because it does. Get to a meeting daily. Until you have a solid foundation, nothing else matters anyway.

Dr. Hester and Choices are the best substance abuse and mental health resource in Greenville, NC!! She works for clients to resolve any potential problems that may arise and stays committed to helping all clients finish their goals. Having so many years experience makes her perfect to help with many different services. I recently moved from California to North Carolina. When I was in CA I had a good team of people I could go to so moving to NC I knew in order to remain mentally healthy I would need to find a new therapist. I was very pleasantly surprised when I came to Dream. I was matched with a great therapist and even the receptionists were friendly. Another patient was in the reception area yelling and screaming at the ladies and they remained calm, compassionate, and professional. I have made a few friends since being here and have told them about my experience at Dream. I basically tell anyone who will listen. Thank you all for your help!

This place is a God send!!! I have struggled for years with my mental health and substance use and this place provided the encouragement and support I needed to get on track and stay on track!!! The staff treated me like they care about me on a personal level and didn't treat me "funny" like other places I've been in the past! Our community is blessed to have a facility like this, especially for people who have no insurance. They find a way to get you the help you need, no matter what help it is!!! The therapist are friendly and empathetic!! Also, I have never had to wait more then a few minutes for any appointment I had. I participated in group treatment for a while and that was awesome!!! The teacher was hands on and showed concern for issues I was having! And the group itself felt like a little family that really looked out for each other!! IF YOU NEED HELP, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!!!
