I recently moved from California to North Carolina. When I was in CA I had a good team of people I could go to so moving to NC I knew in order to remain mentally healthy I would need to find a new therapist. I was very pleasantly surprised when I came to Dream. I was matched with a great therapist and even the receptionists were friendly.
Another patient was in the reception area yelling and screaming at the ladies and they remained calm, compassionate, and professional. I have made a few friends since being here and have told them about my experience at Dream. I basically tell anyone who will listen. Thank you all for your help!

I really love going to Dreams. I just moved to the area a few months ago and heard about Dreams through a friend. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. They got me an appointment the next day and I was able to meet with a very good therapist who's been helping me for the last few months. Just want to commend them on such a great job.

I'm writing this as a retired RN. I know how the system should work and what to realistically expect.
After a bicycle crash with moderate soft tissue injury I went to Urgent Care Down East. The provider Dr Kim Smith ( who is an ED doc at ECU Health Beaufort) determined that I should have a CT and should be seen in the ED. After registration it was a 15 minute wait for triage, where labs and the CT were ordered. Joe the triage nurse very proficiently inserted the IV and drew the labs. Radiology was a 2 hour wait ( not unexpected) and after the CT it was about 45 minutes ( long enough for radiology to read and transcribe the findings) before I was placed in a ED room. Nurse Amy was top notch with the wound care. Dr G ( please don't ask me to spell her name)
was very professional and upbeat. She stitched up my thumb quite well. And was diligent in her

I've been a outpatient with Vidant Behavioral Health long before the merge of ECU Health so I can assure you that I have felt nothing but welcome with every visit. The staff is always so accommodating and conscientious. And Dr. Koloppa is an amazing doctor and person. I appreciate all the support and the trust she has with me as her patient. I only wish I could get my brother in there to see her again. I'm worried he's not being given the care he needs and deserves by his current psychiatrist at his currently assigned facility. Please, staff at Vidant Behavioral Health, if there are any available openings for my brother do let me know. I have used the VA services here a few times this year. Today, i visited the eye exam and eyeglasses. Everything went quickly. Everyone was professional, and it was an overall good experience. On the other occasions, i experienced similar attitudes and work ethic. I have noticed that this change came with the current administration's new policies. I'm changing my review to 4 stars for now. I will update again.
Im leaving my old review below. ========Horrible " care" if you can call it that. Extremely disappointed with service received here . You are not a veteran or a person, you are treated as a number. If you have an option find another VA hospital. If not be prepared to wait months to be seen for 5 minutes where they won't even look you in the eye. Patient advocates have full voice-mail boxes and it's extremely difficult to get through to b anyone on phone. If they call you , will not leave messages. When doctors and staff have called me they will not even give a name or number , even if asked directly.

They offer various inpatient and outpatient services to address the needs of their clients including outpatient medication assisted treatment and inpatient detox. | Treatments Programs Payment Options | My son was living in a ditch, more specific, in the open, uncovered ground swell that feeds a culvart. He is a heroin addict and went to Wilmington to get into The Healing Place. After 60 days of spinning his wheels, we decided to help (not force) him. Not to self: Heroin really does not allow a person to make logical decisions or take logical steps to accomplish something major. I became involved when I realized this and helped guide him. At least, I made contact with most of the people he had and stressed his situation.
Crisis Center wrote his referral late on afternoon, WBJ's Medical Director approved it that night or the next morning, and by next night, my son was at Walter B Jones. They have answered the phone every time I called and were very helpful in explaining the entire process. The staff are exceedingly helpful and nice. My son called last night. He sounded good and in a few days, we hope he will be checking into THP for their 9-mo recovery pgm. I recommend WBJ for anyone who needs short-term detox.

When I was a patient here in the past I thought the staff was amazing. They really seem to care. That's not always the case in faculties that are private owned for profit. Ms. Wallace in particular was great, also Maria, Ray, and Paul. Dr. Brosco as well. In general they have good people working there.
I don't go there anymore but my review is for outpatient. Inpatient is where most of the bad reviews come from. That's a separate building.

The Raleigh VA Clinic has exceeded my expectations with every appointment. The receptionist greets you with a smile, which I know is easy only sometimes when interacting with the public.
Dr. Sheryl Joyner is the epitome of professionalism, wisdom, and warmth. Equally, those who work with Dr. Joyner are a joy! Usually, I have "white coat" syndrome when I visit the doctor, and the anxiety elevates my blood pressure. However, nurses like Rashida King had me laughing and at ease in the short walk from the reception area to the doctor's office--no high blood pressure!
Furthermore, Dr. Joyner and Nurse King were informative, relatable, and authentically caring. Going to the doctor is not at the top of anyone's list of things to do, but the staff at the Raleigh VA clinic are good medicine!

Today was my first visit to any VA clinic as a patient and I must say I was impressed at the overall expereince. I was seen promptly after arrival, the nurse was very friendly and professional as was Dr. Alexander! Both were very thorough and informative. I did not feel rushed at all. All my questions were answered. The young lady in the lab for blood work was very pleasant as well. The facility was organized and well kept. I have no reservation about returning. This is the level of service that should be expected at any healthcare facility, from check in to check out everyone was very welcoming, well done!

Wonderful facility and supportive staff! As a new member of the City of Raleigh's Community Engagement Board, I want to learn more about organizations serving our community members. I chose Healing Transitions' Women's Campus as my first site visit because I live nearby and I wanted to see what my neighbors who are experiencing homelessness have access to. I had the opportunity to meet staff and received an amazing tour by Carol, a peer-mentor (former program participant), who guided me through the entire facility and shared information about the programs available at the Women's Campus. The location is beautifully situated in a canopy of trees with several outdoor amenities for gathering. When I arrived, without an appointment, I was greeted by, Kristin, another former program participant, who connected me with Kathy Worley, Women's Planning Room Team Lead.
Kathy shared information about the primary services offered: Long-term recovery program, emergency drop-in shelter, and non-medical detox. They provide on-demand shelter and non-medical detox services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Both serve as entry points for the recovery program, but direct entry into the program is possible if detox is not necessary. Two days a week a nurse and physician provide medical triage for various conditions. Healing Transitions also offers a family support program (open to family, friends, and loved ones) and they have outreach efforts lead by their Rapid Responders who are state-certified, peer support specialists. This group of specialists build relationships and connect people in Wake Co. to life-saving resources within 24 - 72 hours of overdosing.
I would recommend individuals seeking services and those that care about someone experiencing homelessness and/or substance use to contact Healing Transitions. I also recommend local businesses and individuals to make contributions (e.g., financial contributions, provide in-kind services, or volunteer) to support this local organization. Healing Transitions is a registered nonprofit and all donations are tax deductible. I would also suggest community organizations, businesses, or other groups inquire about renting their beautiful board and community rooms. The spaces have amazing views of the wooded property and are easily accessible from the facility's private parking lot.
Thank you very much for allowing me to visit with staff and program participants as well as for the insightful tour! I look forward to sharing information about opportunities at the Healing Transitions' Women's Campus and will see if I can learn more about the Men's Campus in Downtown Raleigh, next!

As for the other reviews about this place - I’ve heard the front desk workers on the phone and in office with patients often. They are kind, caring, and try their best.
