I love Amy Howard. I first started seeing her when I was discharged from a psychiatric hospital due to being suicidal. From day one Amy was so patient with me. She always tells me that if I need to see her she will fit me into her schedule. She is aware of my medical conditions, and considers that when she prescribes my medicine. She is very serious about what she prescribes. I thank God for her.

January 13, 2026 annual appointment, Goldsboro CBOC: I’m an infrequent user of this CBOC but my experience is much more positive than what some have written. From the moment Dr. Thomas arrived she has handled my issues expeditiously and correctly the first time. Her nurse returns calls the same day and is results oriented. I was here before CBOC came to town. Trust me, don’t knock a local VA facility that so many dedicated officials worked so hard to bring to us for our benefit. No, like the military, they’re not perfect but from my perspective they are dedicated professionals grinding through each and every day in the most bureaucratic agency of the US government. I was an overnight patient on August 20 for observation after a procedure. All employees I came into contact with were great. Including the security guard on the entry door. Attention to detail was obvious in every aspect of my stay. I was prossessed in smoothly. Care after my procedure was attentive. My stay on the second floor, room 239, continued to be top notch. One observation noted was an additional amount of interest and concern for sanitation and cleanliness. Ordering meals was greatly improved by quick delivery after placing the order. Also, if able, you are no longer required to wait on a wheelchair when departing. You can walk to the front door with a hospital staff member. A big deal for me! Thanks to each section who’s hospital staff served me and made an unpleasant situation enjoyable. Godspeed! PS: I noticed your Google ratings before contributing my review. There are lots of unhappy, disgruntled and angry people everywhere you go. Placing blame is in conflict with accepting responsibility or reasonable solutions.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! I came in for a scheduled CSection and from the lady at the front desk to the Nurse discharging me have been absolute Heaven sent! L&D and the postpartum nurses and the whole surgical team I had , I can’t give them enough flowers. I would not have been able to handle such an overwhelming situation so well without them! Thank you for all that you do! I will be able to carry this special time in my life for the rest of my life!

I wouldn't be almost 10 years drug free if it weren't for the women that run this facility. They made me feel loved, supported, understood, validated, and most importantly, they made me feel worthy. I cannot say enough good things about my time there. A lot of negativity in the reviews but I sincerely did not share that experience. I was ready for a change....I was 38 years old, pregnant, a very heavy Daily IV drug user of meth and heroin, who was homeless and completely lost to the game. I was, in effect, committing extreme acts of abuse on my unborn child every single time I pushed off another speedball, although i convinced myself it wasnt the case. I didnt realize I was even pregnant until i was almost 5 months and continued in my use for another month and a half before considering treatment. I didnt deserve the love and care that those selfless women afforded me yet they gave it willingly and without judgement. They reached me, in a way that hadnt happened for me before and I will never forget their fortitude. Miss Tammy, Miss Sonya, Miss Jannelle, Miss Portia (she's tough but once you show her you are serious, she will give everything to help you succeed) and the rest of the staff that was there in 2017 is the best part of that program. Keep in mind that this is a state funded facility that is offered to these complaining women in the other reviews their own fully furnished apartment FREE OF CHARGE for up to a year and a half if it is needed. It grants these women the ability to bond with the children they neglected in their drug use and the opportunity to reunify the family once they reach successful completion of the program. They are not locked in their apartments like criminals, they are encouraged to take their children out to play or be outside in designated spaces to be with their kids. No they cannot interact with the other women or their children in the program because they are there to get sober and be mothers to their kids. That should be all they are concerned with...not whether they have cable or freaking Netflix to watch or ruminating on the very strategic and well placed rules of the program. I had zero problem complying with what was asked of me in returtn for the security that was provided me by the program. ZERO. In fact, I thrived in that place. When it was time for me to move on, I literally didnt want to go because i was that content there. The situation is purely what you make of it, If you perceive it as a threat before you even give yourself a chance you are inevitably going to fail. If you are like I was and desperate for a different way the chances of success are almost guaranteed if you surrender yourself to the idea of trying something new. Tough love is just love with its work boots on. i HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROGRAM FOR ANY WOMAN WITH CHILDREN IN SEARCH OF A STEPPING STONE TOWARDS A BETTER LIFE. I have nine gold medallions in my keeping that can contest to that.

Yes there was a reason they kept u locked up in ur apartments an that reason was for me to bond an learn how to b the best mom there is. I also graduated an also was clean when I went in. I was homeless an had a domestic violence case opened an trust me today the sculptured me into a strong minded an dont want my son out my eye sight. I got CST thru Pathways and it has changed my life Ashley, Mark, Steven, Wanda and LaToya, the nurse Shelly and the front desk staff are the best people ever. Le Chris is by far the all time best mental health office in North Carolina. Every member working there is always so empathetic and compassionate and gentle with the patients. Jared is so good in psychiatric medication management. Lexi and Heather are so smart and gentle at the front desk. Stephonie the therapist is a very understanding miracle worker for a therapist. Paris and Laura are phenomenal and they are the elite tops in peer support services. Melissa is such a caring care manager and the rest of the entire staff are nothing short of professional. They don't just say that they care, they show it. They will do whatever they can in their powers to help each & everyone who is a patient here. I would recommend Le Chris over any other office in North Carolina. 10/10. Definitely A+ service all the way. They get the job done in such a short time. Don't be afraid to call them and seek out help. They do have your best interest but they also do not force you or peer pressure you into anything. They present options for your treatment and they respect you to let you choose what's best for you based on what help options are available for your treatment plan. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for the staff of the Jacksonville CBOC. Many of the employees are Veterans themselves, or married to one, or have a close relative that is a Veteran. There have now been a total of four times that they because of their attention to the veteran and genuine concern they have saved my life. I think the world of my current Primary Physician and his team. The truth is I've been there when some of those who wrote negative reviews have been there. Put simply, how one treats those that serve often determines the attitude they perceive as coming from the one trying to do their job and help them. A little kindness and courtesy means a lot to the crew who are doing their best. And that's the point... THEY are doing their best... and compared to what we had not so long ago in the old converted gas station on Hargett Street, the old clinic... we all should be thankful.

I absolutely adore my therapist Nicole. From the get go, she made me feel comfortable and heard. I would recommended her to anyone that needs a safe place to talk. As for the other reviews about this place - I’ve heard the front desk workers on the phone and in office with patients often. They are kind, caring, and try their best. A lot of the patients are rude, demanding, and don’t take no for an answer. I understand that they sometimes need to be abrupt and firm to get their answer across. Be kind to them and they’ll go out of their way to help you.
