Their outpatient services include individual, family and group | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Le Chris is by far the all time best mental health office in North Carolina. Every member working there is always so empathetic and compassionate and gentle with the patients. Jared is so good in psychiatric medication management. Lexi and Heather are so smart and gentle at the front desk. Stephonie the therapist is a very understanding miracle worker for a therapist. Paris and Laura are phenomenal and they are the elite tops in peer support services. Melissa is such a caring care manager and the rest of the entire staff are nothing short of professional. After a silly goose mishap, I ended up at Crossroads from Onslow Hospital. The fact that I was in a city that I didn't even know existed until that day, made me scared to heck. I was admitted involuntarily because I didn't want to go inpatient. After 4 attempts and 5 hospitalizations, I was at my breaking point when it came to hospitals so I wasn't quite happy being there at first. Usually when you first get there, they do the basic intake things (skin assessment, weight, height, etc). A little bit after that (depends on when you arrive on the unit), they started doing the, or what I assume was, the therapy assessment. Deep questions about past traumas and current struggles. They ask for any previous diagnoses and current medications you take. After that, you're basically "release" onto the full unit known as Crossroads. The rooms you stay in are mostly one bed (a few have two but I've never seen anyone get a roommate during my stay here) and have their own sink and toilet. I made a few good friends during my stay here and found the atmosphere to be much more comforting than my last few hospital stays. The staff is just as impressive as the atmosphere. The technicians are attentive and help as much as they can. The only one I can slightly remember is a nice technician named Madison. She helped me get ready for my first shower there (a huge experience for anyone taking their first shower at any hospital) and helped me do laundry. Her comforting presence during my stay here really improved my overall mental health. Also, her drawing of Martin Stewart is equivalent to the Mona Lisa. The nurses are just as attentive and helpful as the technicians. Now, I am someone who sometimes doesn't like taking their medication. I've tried around 10 medications for my illness and none seemed to have work. At this point, I was losing any hope of ever finding a medication that worked. I was compliant with taking my medication though. The nurses make sure you take your medication at (or around) the time you were prescribed to take them. They usually find you on the unit to give you your medication. Any and all question pertaining to medication or nicotine related products, you would ask your scheduled nurse. They are day nurses and night nurses and shift changes happen at 7pm. Your nurse may change throughout your stay, but they mostly try to keep the same nurse you've had for a few days in a row. The nurses that stood out to me during my stay here are Sarah, Rebecca, Amber, Robin, and Kimberly (these were mostly my nurses. I'm sure the other nurses are just as impeccable). Sarah was my nurse for a good portion of the beginning of my stay. She has a very comforting and a very mom like presence. I had no difficulty asking her for things. Rebecca was my nurse for a little bit. She has a very strong presence (Don't call her Becky) but is very kind. Amber is a real g. She was mainly my nurse during the later portion of my stay all the way up until I got discharged so I spent the most time with her. All I can remember is telling her my pupils looked huge as hell (probably I thought I was in psychosis or something smh). My next interaction with her, I thought she was the technician, Madison. Turns out, she is not the technician. She's the registered nurse. Ever since I mistaken her for the technician (who looks oddly similar to her), a deep hatred for me festered. No, I'm joking. Since then, we've established a very comforting and reassuring patient/nurse friendship. Robin & Kimberly were both my night nurses and they are both amazing human beings who have helped me so much. This place is good for the mental health.

Hands down the BEST hospital experience of our lives—CarolinaEast’s birthing center deserves every ounce of praise and an A++ rating! We planned for a natural birth, but when baby decided a C-section was the safest route, the entire team turned what could’ve been stressful into pure magic. From OR to recovery, every single person treated us like family, going above and beyond in ways no other hospital ever has (and trust me, we’ve heard the stories).
The moment we rolled into the OR, the vibe was calm, warm, and joyful—not sterile or scary like you’d expect. The surgeons, anesthesiologist, and nurses explained every step with such kindness, even dimming the lights and playing our playlist so it felt intimate. My husband got to stay right by my head, holding my hand the whole time, and they dropped the drape so we could watch our son enter the world together. Skin-to-skin started immediately on the table—our baby never left our sight. The anesthesiologist even cracked jokes to keep us laughing through happy tears.
Recovery? Unreal. The postpartum nurses were angels—checking in constantly but never overwhelming us. Pain was managed perfectly (I could move without feeling drugged), and the lactation team had us breastfeeding like pros within hours. Our room felt like a cozy hotel suite: huge windows, a rocker for midnight cuddles, and meals brought piping hot whenever we wanted. They anticipated every need—extra pillows, ice packs, even a celebratory “new parents” dessert tray!
We can’t say enough about the pediatric team either—gentle, thorough, and so reassuring. From the OR to discharge, CarolinaEast made us feel seen, safe, and celebrated. Other hospitals? Cold, rushed, impersonal. Here? Compassion on overdrive.
If you’re having a C-section (planned or not), RUN to CarolinaEast. They don’t just deliver babies—they deliver dreams. Thank you for giving us the perfect start with twins, our princess and our little man.

I absolutely adore my therapist Nicole. From the get go, she made me feel comfortable and heard. I would recommended her to anyone that needs a safe place to talk.
As for the other reviews about this place - I’ve heard the front desk workers on the phone and in office with patients often. They are kind, caring, and try their best. A lot of the patients are rude, demanding, and don’t take no for an answer. I understand that they sometimes need to be abrupt and firm to get their answer across. Just left this a.m, it's actually a state - run faxility but honestly a good one.
The food is plentiful and tastes decent, they provide 2 meaks a day plus 3 snacks, the rooms are 2 person rooms but they try to give you a room by yourself if possible, the place is clean and the staff are kind and professional, slept great and most folks are given valium for the first few days which of course makes the detox process as comfortable as possible. I did the detox did not go to unit 5(the rehab unit).
Good place I highly recommend 👍

The head doctor there pissed me off and I love him for it! I checked myself in not knowing I was committing to a minimum of 72 hours. Once admitted, you are stuck for 72 hours. You have to sign a waiver stating you release them of liability if you leave before they release you. I was furious when I found out and immediately signed the release so the clock would start.
The next morning I woke at 6-7 am with the doctor and a few others standing in my room. He said “ You have a chance to beat this if you give me time to wean you off alcohol. If you leave too soon you will probably have severe withdrawals and drink again. Give me more time to care for you properly. You have my word that I will get you discharged as soon as possible.”
I agreed. I felt frustrated and stuck, but I stayed. I thank God I did! Today I am 43 days sober. 45 days ago I didn’t know if I could get sober and make it stick. If I had left too soon, who knows what would’ve happened?
The staff was amazing. One of the nurses (a blonde lady) was quite rude and seemed to only be there for a check. The rest were amazing. I can imagine dealing with a bunch of us going through a mental and emotional roller coaster has to be frustrating for them, yet they seem to really enjoy their work and seem to care about you.
If you need help, these people are great. Their program works if you stay and work with them. Give them the time needed to help you. Also make sure you have support when you leave. I chose AA and it has made all the difference. Treat sobriety like your life depends on it because it does. Get to a meeting daily. Until you have a solid foundation, nothing else matters anyway.
