I love Amy Howard. I first started seeing her when I was discharged from a psychiatric hospital due to being suicidal. From day one Amy was so patient with me. She always tells me that if I need to see her she will fit me into her schedule. She is aware of my medical conditions, and considers that when she prescribes my medicine. Just left this a.m, it's actually a state - run faxility but honestly a good one. The food is plentiful and tastes decent, they provide 2 meaks a day plus 3 snacks, the rooms are 2 person rooms but they try to give you a room by yourself if possible, the place is clean and the staff are kind and professional, slept great and most folks are given valium for the first few days which of course makes the detox process as comfortable as possible. I did the detox did not go to unit 5(the rehab unit). Good place I highly recommend 👍

The head doctor there pissed me off and I love him for it! I checked myself in not knowing I was committing to a minimum of 72 hours. Once admitted, you are stuck for 72 hours. You have to sign a waiver stating you release them of liability if you leave before they release you. I was furious when I found out and immediately signed the release so the clock would start. The next morning I woke at 6-7 am with the doctor and a few others standing in my room. He said “ You have a chance to beat this if you give me time to wean you off alcohol. If you leave too soon you will probably have severe withdrawals and drink again. Give me more time to care for you properly. You have my word that I will get you discharged as soon as possible.” I agreed. I felt frustrated and stuck, but I stayed. I thank God I did! Today I am 43 days sober. 45 days ago I didn’t know if I could get sober and make it stick. If I had left too soon, who knows what would’ve happened? The staff was amazing. One of the nurses (a blonde lady) was quite rude and seemed to only be there for a check. The rest were amazing. I can imagine dealing with a bunch of us going through a mental and emotional roller coaster has to be frustrating for them, yet they seem to really enjoy their work and seem to care about you. If you need help, these people are great. Their program works if you stay and work with them. Give them the time needed to help you. Also make sure you have support when you leave. I chose AA and it has made all the difference. Treat sobriety like your life depends on it because it does. Get to a meeting daily. Until you have a solid foundation, nothing else matters anyway.

January 13, 2026 annual appointment, Goldsboro CBOC: I’m an infrequent user of this CBOC but my experience is much more positive than what some have written. From the moment Dr. Thomas arrived she has handled my issues expeditiously and correctly the first time. Her nurse returns calls the same day and is results oriented. I was here before CBOC came to town. Trust me, don’t knock a local VA facility that so many dedicated officials worked so hard to bring to us for our benefit. No, like the military, they’re not perfect but from my perspective they are dedicated professionals grinding through each and every day in the most bureaucratic agency of the US government. My husband suffered a medical emergency while we in NC for vacation. He ended up staying the entire week of our vacation in the hospital with surgery on top of it. He was treated so incredibly well. All of the nurses and doctors were so kind and caring. Our vacation was a bust but I truly believe they saved my husband's life. We would have not gotten this level of care in St. Louis.

I was an overnight patient on August 20 for observation after a procedure. All employees I came into contact with were great. Including the security guard on the entry door. Attention to detail was obvious in every aspect of my stay. I was prossessed in smoothly. Care after my procedure was attentive. My stay on the second floor, room 239, continued to be top notch. One observation noted was an additional amount of interest and concern for sanitation and cleanliness. Ordering meals was greatly improved by quick delivery after placing the order. Also, if able, you are no longer required to wait on a wheelchair when departing. You can walk to the front door with a hospital staff member. A big deal for me! Thanks to each section who’s hospital staff served me and made an unpleasant situation enjoyable. Godspeed! PS: I noticed your Google ratings before contributing my review. There are lots of unhappy, disgruntled and angry people everywhere you go. Placing blame is in conflict with accepting responsibility or reasonable solutions.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! I came in for a scheduled CSection and from the lady at the front desk to the Nurse discharging me have been absolute Heaven sent! L&D and the postpartum nurses and the whole surgical team I had , I can’t give them enough flowers. I would not have been able to handle such an overwhelming situation so well without them! Thank you for all that you do! I will be able to carry this special time in my life for the rest of my life!

Did the 90 days in fall of 2019. The program basically focuses on Addictive and criminal thinking patterns and the ones who give it a chance will get something out of it. Mr. Ray was my counselor and from day one was fair to all and a good , down to earth counselor. The concerns process was a blast and I can talk all day here but words can't explain the experience you just have to go if given a chance. It's not suppose to be fun ( which it isnt) but given the chance it can have a positive effect. PULL UP!!!

My kids have been going here for a few years now, all the staff members are so friendly and we love Dr. Davis 😊 she’s amazing and very thorough! I wouldn't be almost 10 years drug free if it weren't for the women that run this facility. They made me feel loved, supported, understood, validated, and most importantly, they made me feel worthy. I cannot say enough good things about my time there. A lot of negativity in the reviews but I sincerely did not share that experience. I was ready for a change....I was 38 years old, pregnant, a very heavy Daily IV drug user of meth and heroin, who was homeless and completely lost to the game. I was, in effect, committing extreme acts of abuse on my unborn child every single time I pushed off another speedball, although i convinced myself it wasnt the case. I didnt realize I was even pregnant until i was almost 5 months and continued in my use for another month and a half before considering treatment. I didnt deserve the love and care that those selfless women afforded me yet they gave it willingly and without judgement. They reached me, in a way that hadnt happened for me before and I will never forget their fortitude. Miss Tammy, Miss Sonya, Miss Jannelle, Miss Portia (she's tough but once you show her you are serious, she will give everything to help you succeed) and the rest of the staff that was there in 2017 is the best part of that program. Keep in mind that this is a state funded facility that is offered to these complaining women in the other reviews their own fully furnished apartment FREE OF CHARGE for up to a year and a half if it is needed. It grants these women the ability to bond with the children they neglected in their drug use and the opportunity to reunify the family once they reach successful completion of the program. They are not locked in their apartments like criminals, they are encouraged to take their children out to play or be outside in designated spaces to be with their kids. No they cannot interact with the other women or their children in the program because they are there to get sober and be mothers to their kids. That should be all they are concerned with...not whether they have cable or freaking Netflix to watch or ruminating on the very strategic and well placed rules of the program. I had zero problem complying with what was asked of me in returtn for the security that was provided me by the program. ZERO. In fact, I thrived in that place. When it was time for me to move on, I literally didnt want to go because i was that content there. The situation is purely what you make of it, If you perceive it as a threat before you even give yourself a chance you are inevitably going to fail. If you are like I was and desperate for a different way the chances of success are almost guaranteed if you surrender yourself to the idea of trying something new. Tough love is just love with its work boots on. i HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROGRAM FOR ANY WOMAN WITH CHILDREN IN SEARCH OF A STEPPING STONE TOWARDS A BETTER LIFE. I have nine gold medallions in my keeping that can contest to that.

Yes there was a reason they kept u locked up in ur apartments an that reason was for me to bond an learn how to b the best mom there is. I also graduated an also was clean when I went in. I was homeless an had a domestic violence case opened an trust me today the sculptured me into a strong minded an dont want my son out my eye sight.
