I recently moved to Edenton so I was transferred to the Greenville facility. So far I have been to the facility twice, which one was for a blood draw and the other was for a PCP visit. Both times have been wonderful experiences. The staff has been super helpful and professional so I couldn't ask for anymore.

I love Amy Howard. I first started seeing her when I was discharged from a psychiatric hospital due to being suicidal. From day one Amy was so patient with me. She always tells me that if I need to see her she will fit me into her schedule. She is aware of my medical conditions, and considers that when she prescribes my medicine. She is very serious about what she prescribes. I thank God for her.

The head doctor there pissed me off and I love him for it! I checked myself in not knowing I was committing to a minimum of 72 hours. Once admitted, you are stuck for 72 hours. You have to sign a waiver stating you release them of liability if you leave before they release you. I was furious when I found out and immediately signed the release so the clock would start.
The next morning I woke at 6-7 am with the doctor and a few others standing in my room. He said “ You have a chance to beat this if you give me time to wean you off alcohol. If you leave too soon you will probably have severe withdrawals and drink again. Give me more time to care for you properly. You have my word that I will get you discharged as soon as possible.”
I agreed. I felt frustrated and stuck, but I stayed. I thank God I did! Today I am 43 days sober. 45 days ago I didn’t know if I could get sober and make it stick. If I had left too soon, who knows what would’ve happened?
The staff was amazing. One of the nurses (a blonde lady) was quite rude and seemed to only be there for a check. The rest were amazing. I can imagine dealing with a bunch of us going through a mental and emotional roller coaster has to be frustrating for them, yet they seem to really enjoy their work and seem to care about you.
If you need help, these people are great. Their program works if you stay and work with them. Give them the time needed to help you. Also make sure you have support when you leave. I chose AA and it has made all the difference. Treat sobriety like your life depends on it because it does. Get to a meeting daily. Until you have a solid foundation, nothing else matters anyway.

Let me tell you , WBJ saved my life. They do have wonderful staff and the food isnt the best when I was there almost 4 years ago but it was great. It took me 3 times to get straight but ..its a really good place. Whoever is complaining was probably Petty and that person complaining was probably a disrespectful patient. I saw a few in my time there. Luv the staff there .

I’m an infrequent user of this CBOC but my experience is much more positive than what some have written. From the moment Dr. Thomas arrived she has handled my issues expeditiously and correctly the first time. Her nurse returns calls the same day and is results oriented. I was here before CBOC came to town. Trust me, don’t knock a local VA facility that so many dedicated officials worked so hard to bring to us for our benefit. No, like the military, they’re not perfect but from my perspective they are dedicated professionals grinding through each and every day in the most bureaucratic agency of the US government. I can't say the experience was great because two days ago, my brother was staring down the loaded barrel of stage 4 cancer and the time had arrived.
I can say that Wayne Memorial Emergency Department was a Class Act. My brother was transitioned as peacefully as you could ask for. The staff was top notch in caring and understanding when their hands were tied as far as what they could do.
We were not abandoned in a room with our lonely thoughts, they checked on us very frequently. We were not left in the dark, they communicated constantly what was to be expected each step of the way. We didn't feel like a number, they brought a hospitality cart to Trauma 3 so we could be with my brother the entire time. They were very caring, and allowed us to make decisions to let go at our own pace.
I would like to say Thank You to Natasha, Maria, Lexus, Billie G and Dr. Rose who were awesome and helped us get through this daunting milestone.

Did the 90 days in fall of 2019. The program basically focuses on Addictive and criminal thinking patterns and the ones who give it a chance will get something out of it. Mr. Ray was my counselor and from day one was fair to all and a good , down to earth counselor. The concerns process was a blast and I can talk all day here but words can't explain the experience you just have to go if given a chance. It's not suppose to be fun ( which it isnt) but given the chance it can have a positive effect. PULL UP!!!

My experience with Dr. Steven Hannant has been amazing. I felt overwhelmed and unsure where to turn. From our very first session, Dr. Steven Hannant created a safe and non-judgmental space where my sister and I felt comfortable opening up. He listened attentively and explained everything to us. He treated my family with good service. We appreciate him so very much, he is just awesome!!
