Best addiction treatment facility period. In the course of my recovery, I have been to over 4 addiction treatment programs. Brightview was by far the best. This location has the most professional staff around. In 6 years, I had not even one complaint! My boyfriend went with me to every single appointment at this location and was not harassed once for supporting me. I owe my life to these people! I would not have the amazing life I have today, without them. In the 6 and a half years I have been with them, I have not relapsed once and am almost completely weened off of Suboxone. I felt completely safe here and everyone who worked here is trustworthy. That is paramount for a successful recovery. If you don't even feel comfortable going in to the place that is supposed to be helping you, there is NO chance of successful recovery. Update: I am now fully off of Suboxone. Even at a low dose it was not easy. I could not have ever done it, without the support I received here.

Everyone has been so nice and friendly to my family. They have gone out of there way to be accommodating to any thing that is in there probably of the serves they offer or can fine to offer. And that's amazing foresight for health care works to give damn. There trained not to! Not the doc that is on the computer. The Adena Behavioral Health Unit is amazing! The nurses are fantastic, the way the program is structured is to get you help, and get you home. No worries about frightening experiences here. This is the best mental health treatment I've ever gotten. Dr. King is amazing, she helped me a lot. By time I left, I felt more secure with programs, information, and medication that is helping me get my mental health stable and begin my healing process with the RIGHT therapy. The staff at Floyd Simantel have always gone out of their way to provide me with excellent service. I have been being treated there for almost 5 years and in that time I have been able to make great strides in creating a life worth living. Learning how to live and deal with my mental illness as well as my former substance use and abuse was not something they could do for me, I had to do the work, I had to show up, I had to be honest with myself. They helped me to learn a better way of life.
Reading the other review posted here, to me, is pathetic. They are not magicians who can cure you with a wave of their hand. Rebuilding a new and better life for yourself takes work, which includes making plans and taking action, is what they have helped me to do, but I was ready and wanted what they had to offer.
And I have always been treated with respect and dignity in the manner with which I have treated them.
My treatment has been totally outpatient so treatment is ongoing.

This place just loves to run people around in circles to keep billing their insurance. You come to this place for help which is really difficult to reach out for in the first place because you’re at the point where you need medication and you’ll be ran around in a loop for months just prolonging the suffering. Not to mention if you need meds changed due to negative side effects instead of helping with that they’ll make you wait some more until you crash out so they can bill your insurance again for a crisis that could have been avoided by a few clicks on a computer to switch back to a medication that did work for you that’s already on file instead of the medication they pushed on you in the first place that you did not want to take but was pretty much told that was your option or suffer. The counselors are amazing I can’t say anything about them, they’re genuinely caring and they listen to their patients. These psychiatrists however do not prioritize their patients or their mental well being. There also must be something horribly wrong with the scheduling department as well considering you have to wait more than a couple months to be seen each time. That isn’t help. Help is being available. Help is actually being there. Help is being compliant enough after years of schooling to recognize that maybe people actually need them to do their job even more than they need their paychecks. I’m not even sure I want to continue going to this place anymore for psychiatry over how ridiculous this whole process has been. Take a walk in someone else’s shoes before choosing to work in a place for mental health treatment.

Dr Katz is the best! I’ve never felt I could actually be myself and open up to a doctor like I have her. I’ve had a lot of bad experiences with doctors in the past, but I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Shawnee family health. They are all very friendly and I just love my doctor so much she’s the best. She truly cares about her patience all these other negative comments on here. I don’t see that there I’ve seen it many other places, but not here so don’t listen to the negative negative comments if you wanna know, go in person and make your own opinion and I about guarantee it’ll be a good one. I feel the people leaving bad reviews are just doing so because they didn’t get the medication they wanted or something. I’ve never had any kind of issues with them whatsoever and I drive a very far distance just to see Dr. Katz because I love her so much and I know I’m not gonna find another psychiatrist that I feel that comfortable with so thank you Dr. Katz for being a wonderful doctor a caring doctor and so real and down to earth and thank you for caring about me. I don't know anything about the other Drs. but I know she is one of the actual good ones! One example, I have countless repetitions to get out the door to my house. She said "have you ever tried NOT doing that" TO SOMEONE ONE WITH DEBILATATING OCD AND AND OCPD. I was truly blown away with how incompetent she was left feeling insulted and overlooked and embarrassed. The ladies in this office are so incredible, professional and kind!
They go out of their way to help in absolutely any way they can! They genuinely care and want to know just how you are doing good or bad. I wouldn’t trust my recovery in any other offices hands. I will be forever thankful for all they have done for me.
