I was a long time patient with the VA hospital in Chilliocthe OH. 2007 til 2026 when I moved to Lexington KY. My experience with the VA hospital in Lexington KY has me already looking to relocate back to Chilliocthe OH. The nurse practitioner I was assigned to immediately began chastising and berating me for not electing to do radiation therapy. This was in the first 30 seconds of my appointment. She then began to describe in vivid detail how my cancer will spread across my face if I don't do radiation therapy. I am beyond appalled that a so called medical professional would stoop to using scare tactics and personal intimadation to pressure me to take a treatment plan I have already told 4 doctors I don't want to go down that path. I am seriously considering moving back to Ohio.

So my situation was something you don't typically plan for to say the least went in for water retention and a cough that just wouldn't go away, and ended up staying almost a full week. The staff in the ACHF wing were amazing to me and my family they made sure we knew what was going on and made sure I was taken care of while I was bed ridden for half my stay. Sheena and Cindy were some of the kindest people I've ever dealt with in a hospital. Cindy even took time to sit down and explain the meds I was going to be taking once I left which helped us understand everything before leaving. Since going back for more tests and other labs the staff has been helpful all the way around definitely grateful for that. Also the financial aspect was super scary but they helped set me up with a assistants program and they helped cover a lot of the expenses and helped with a payment plan that worked for me.

The staff at Floyd Simantel have always gone out of their way to provide me with excellent service. I have been being treated there for almost 5 years and in that time I have been able to make great strides in creating a life worth living. Learning how to live and deal with my mental illness as well as my former substance use and abuse was not something they could do for me, I had to do the work, I had to show up, I had to be honest with myself. They helped me to learn a better way of life.
Reading the other review posted here, to me, is pathetic. They are not magicians who can cure you with a wave of their hand. Rebuilding a new and better life for yourself takes work, which includes making plans and taking action, is what they have helped me to do, but I was ready and wanted what they had to offer.
And I have always been treated with respect and dignity in the manner with which I have treated them.
My treatment has been totally outpatient so treatment is ongoing.

I will say that I used to use the Circleville clinic (which I don't recommend) but I have now been using the Chillicothe clinic for about a year. You can even get your medications from their in house pharmacy. There is also a crisis center on location 24/7. I cannot recommend this place more than I already do. I will advocate for this place. I'm a 32 year old army veteran that has struggled with substance abuse throughout the entirety of my adult life. I'm over 9 months clean today and actually feel I have a purpose in life again. I've been in a couple different rehabilitation programs , but if it wasn't for PARS I'd still be in a hole. They give 1 on 1 counseling which is critical as well as weekly classes depending on what you need. Andrea is my individual counselor and she does an amazing job listening, remembering and knowing how best to approach my specific situation. Michelle and Terry are also counselors and they lead classes weekly and do an awesome job and actually understand about what they're teaching which is critical for anyone struggling with this epidemic. I think they need to investigate founding and the workers and see what they really get paid for!! They have all these resources!! Constantly lying and trying to load more on top of you!! They say they are helping you and doing footwork for you infact they are lying and leaving you out to dry!! I believe if I found a lawyer I could get them for harassment and prejudice!! Most of the workers do not have children and know how to reais children I don't believe this is a program that should be government founded!! They need investigated!!! I have stayed at the recovery village for two months. When I first got here I was unhappy and hearing 45 days felt like a lifetime. 30 seemed impossible, and now here I am at two months and 3 days. The environment is safe, people want to be here. There’s no arguing, support and a lot of help. I went through the oasis program and then did php as well. It can be scary to commit to the change but I found it worth it. If it’s trauma, addiction, whatever you struggle with they have what you need. The main complaints I have heard or had was you do have tape on your phone so FaceTime isn’t available during your stay for Saftey of other clients.. and snacks. Out of all things to consider, not a major deal. They will help you with therapy, education, and meds. I did feel finding sober living after was difficult for me and a few others. You can have care packages dropped off, family/friend visits as well as Amazon orders. Great connections you can make and I’d like to emphasize again, the people here want to get help. But overall this experience saved my life. I wouldn’t have stayed this long if it didn’t and I never expected it to. There activities like art, bon fire, trivia, yoga things to look forward to. You’re worth it, the time is worth it and I hope anyone who reads this chooses themselves. It’s okay to be selfish and again. YOU ARE WORRH IT! You got it! Thank you for all the kindness, patience, love and support I’ve been givin during my stay. Sure there’s discomfort and sacrifices, but your sobriety and mental health is far more important. We need you and you matter! Recovery village truly saved my life. Would recommend to anyone.

I like that they treat addict | Treatments Programs Payment Options | This place was an absolute great time. The nurses were absolutely lovely only downfall for me is that I couldn’t do a 30 day program as I didn’t have oxygen

Dr Shela Forbellah has some very serious personal issues of her own. After she mentioned that she works at the Pickaway County jail herself I looked her up on the internet. I told her that and because of her own insecurities she freaked out and quit seeing me. If it wasn't for all of the people that are court ordered to go there this place would have been out of business years ago. Stopping services to a patient that has been having Anxiety so bad that it landed them in the emergency room and showed up on a EKG as a serious delay on the top of my heart. After some extensive testing over the next few weeks the Cardiologist explained that it was very likely that it was my extreme anxiety. This whole thing of stopping seeing me because she took me looking her up on the internet the wrong way has my Anxiety and blood pressure through the roof again. And her nurse literally just called me while I was typing this and the whole mess has me where I can't even think straight to finish this review at this point in time. The person I trusted to help me took things the wrong way. A lot of us look people up on the internet to see who we are dealing with. It doesn't mean anything other than we want to know who we are dealing with or putting our trust in. This just shouldn't have came to this at all and in fact what I did tell her I seen was meant as a compliment but she was the one who twisted it around in her own head and made something bad out of it.
This is my new honest review at this point in time. It will be edited later on when my brain settles down enough to think more clearly to type things out better.

I have went here for a few years for counseling. Don’t go regularly like you’re supposed to. But one thing I’m sick of is a certain employee here. Vicki (I think is how you spell it) always has this snotty demeanor every time and tbh I get sick of it. Makes me not want to come back to be honest. No, I’m not in here constantly like I should be. But that gives you no right to be so snotty. And you would think it’s an every once in a while thing that she’s so snotty. Nope it’s every time I go in there. I normally keep my mouth shut but it’s getting ridiculous. And yes, I’m normally respectful and everything when I come in there. But dang at least be kind and not so snotty. Another thing is, counselors are always leaving from here too. So don’t be surprised if you start counseling and your new counselor you just got leaves.
