4 stars for detox, 1 for woman's supportive housing. Alot of people are there because they have to be, or they have no place else to go, so it's very chaotic. Not a healthy environment for recovery, in my opinion. The gossip around campus is that the higher ups are only about the money, but I'm not sure if that's true. The counselors are great, but there is not enough of them. Two of the nighttime RA's were awful, gossipy, lazy, cold, and unprofessional.

As a former patient and current clientof their program, I can honestly say that all staff members were considerate and understanding of my addiction. I spent 10 weeks in the program from July to September 2018. Upon my release, I was given the opportunity to reside in a sober living home that they chose for me based on my needs. Unfortunately, due to my inability to follow the proper guidelines of recovery, I went back to the people, places and things that they suggest you remove from your past that took me back to addiction. I relapsed in less than 30 days of being released. I reached out again to Matt Talbot and they allowed me to come back for another 10 weeks of programming. In November 2018, I entered Matt Talbot in a broken down state of mind and body and left in December 2018, a renewed and educated woman that fought for her sobriety. I highly recommend this program to anyone wanting to change their life the way it changed mine. Today, I am still clean, sober and loving my life.

Apple wood was a good place for me, was there for like three to four months and the staff were all kind and respectful. They took into account that I'm gluten free and made sure I got meals that didn't taste like crap, other mental hospitals didn't have very many gluten free meal options. Overall it was a great experience and helped me get in the right mind, I also recommend they're therapy service's weather it's group therapy or individual therapy they have great therapist's who are kind and caring about their patients.

I was there at the age of 16 I was there for about 8 1/2 months maybe 7 1/2 and I absolutely love every single staff there except for maybe one. Everybody treat you with kindness and respect their absolutely the best I just got out November And I can actually say that my life has turned for the best if you go in there thinking that it’s not gonna work then it’s not gonna work but if you go in there with an open mind, it will work maybe not for everyone, but it definitely worked for me I went in there thinking that you know I could just get my time served and be out of there But my last month me and the girls unit manager sat down and had a conversation saying that I needed to start working on myself and if I didn’t then things might turn out for the worst and I’m truly glad that I listened to her because I started opening up more in therapy and I started taking this whole process seriously and it came down to my release authority meeting and I let the elephant out of the room and I told everybody what happened and they all looked at me in shock and the manager whom was with me told me that they were going to request another six or six months I don’t remember but I changed in that month. They approved my release and 90 days later I was home and I’m not gonna say that I want to go back because I don’t but I truly do want to go back to those moments that I had with the girls because those are the moments that I’ve held onto and those are the moments that I will always cherish because those girls in there were truly one of my best friends weren’t like peers as though Applewood would call them, but they were like family they were like sisters, and it was the most heartbreaking moment to tell them that I was leaving them, because I knew how it felt to not be the person that was leaving but it also felt good to be the person that’s leaving and I truly do hope that all the kids that were there with me truly do enjoy their time and learn something from the experience because I learned that there are ways to stand up for myself and I learn that along the way it is OK to let people help you. It is OK to reach out for help. It’s OK to give up sometime and it is OK to take breaks but never once should you give up so I want to say thank you I don’t know if anybody of the staffing will read this, but thank you so much to my therapist, my cottage manager, my original prime and my second prime and all the staff on the unit and some of the staff on the unit. Thank you so much for everything that you guys have taught me and thank you for being there for me after all my visits for being there for me to talk to at night for being a shoulder for me to cry on for showing me that it is OK to cry at points that I don’t need to hide my emotions and it is OK to scream. Thank you so much to the staff who screamed with me when I needed to scream , who allowed me to support my peers who were going through things for allowing me to sit in the doorway when I felt anxious and there was stuff going on I truly do not know if you will get this, but I want each and every single one of you to know that I appreciate you more than anything because my parents now have their little girl back and I am no longer doing drugs smoking cussing at my parents throwing things at my parents. I have learnt how to control my anger just the other day, my Boxers Were fighting and I went to stop them, and I got scratched, And if it was the old me, I would’ve definitely done some things that I would have regretted but Instead of that, I Simply separated them I went to a place where I was alone, and I took me a five minute break and I recomposed myself I washed up my arm. I put a little Band-Aid on it, and I went To the Boxers and I simply checked on them to make sure they were OK and I put them in time out. My mom was so impressed with how I handled it because not only did I regulate my emotions. I also on the Dogs Who had scratched me and hurt me instead of going after them.

This place saved my life. I went there straight from detox and I was home!!! I stayed sober clean and I'm hoping to get a job there I filled out an application? A awesome person I met Melissa Johnston she currently works there she was a client there when I was!! I will never forget the food I got to eat it was amazing!!! The staff was so caring and engaged!! If I could give this place a million stars, I would. I have 60 days clean today (in an IOP program now) but I couldn’t have done it without the first 30 days being here. I wanted to give shout out to outstanding staff members here, but I realized the list grew too long and every member of staff was amazing. This isn’t a five star resort, but they have the most caring staff and your care is truly individualized. You don’t go without anything, but it’s not a day spa. The horizon house helped save my life. The staff here is absolutely incredible they were always there for me when I needed help or someone to talk to. Chris is an incredible caring man. Melissa and Tracy were always so sweet, kind, helpful and uplifting. The facilitators Rob, Shiann, Maddie, Charisma, Hazel were great teachers with alot of advice. Kristen the case manager was truly an inspiration along with a few others. The general staff were always there to talk to if needed. I will always have a place in my heart for this staff. A huge thank you to Ashlee, Keia, Sharon and Natalie yall were a big part of my success at the house and I will forever be thankful to have met you all. If you need help with addiction do not be afraid to reach out to townhall 2 and get the help you need. These negative comments are probably people who didnt truly want the help. The people that work there are great!! Always trying to help the best they can, trying to build community with amazing events and really showing what a good institution this is. I've been going for over 6 months now and I have to say that everyone is so nice. My counselor has literally saved my life and helped me work through my anxiety.

Unlike other reviews, I’ve never had any problems with them getting back to me. My counselor just left and I couldn’t get into a new one for a couple months so that was a bummer. I went to a different psychiatrist at first and he was ok but then I felt like he wasn’t listening to me since my meds consistently weren’t working. But then I switched to another psych/dr and she is wonderful. She’s works with me, listens to me, and helped me understand my problem more. She also has managed to find the right medicines for me and that has never happened. I actually feel like myself again, so thank you.
