My relapses had nothing to do with Valley Hope and the care they provided. It just wasn't my time yet. I love Atchison Valley Hope. The staff are A+. They genuinely care about the patients while there and after their discharge. I get calls from my counselors and case workers periodically just to see how I'm doing. It's more than collecting an insurance check with them. I finally took their advice and went to php and iop, in addition to an addiction counselor. I'm 65 years old and sober for the first time in a very long time. There's no treatment center that's going to keep you sober or drug free. It takes work, but at AVH they will provide a serious reboot for your future.

Current Inpatient resident who would like to say I came with much trepidation and anxiety. All of which I was able to shed easily on account of the staff and friendly fellow residents. Not in any small part because of Kerry (think I spelled that right) in detox, because she is @$$@ ing hilarious, and made me feel a lot better. I mean, guys, it’s rehab.. ;) But this is a very good rehab. Admins listen.
EDIT: It took guys.. It really took this time. I shed the $&!t colored goggles. And the world is vivid.. bright.. and while i honestly believed I'd be dead by now... In reality I'm happier than I think I ever have been. I couldn't see it back then.

yes i 100% can see how some of these reviews can be true, (but it’s REALLY not that bad.) most of the 1-3 stars are just people who love to complain.
if your nice and don’t have any aggressive reports you’ll most likely go upstairs (you’d go there for self harm, suicide attempts, thoughts of suicide or eating disorders.)
downstairs is for more aggressive people who in their report have homicidal thoughts, or actually going through with them (or just being actually INSANE.)
while i was there, there was this one nurse who was absolutely amazing, she made my visit (5 days) so much better. helped me get a restraining order on my father, good mood, just amazing.
the staff upstairs are nice, funny, and helpful, there was only a couple of complaints i had there, which was going to bed at 8:30pm and waking up at 7:00am, there was this one kid who made EVERY girl at our group uncomfortable, but we reported him and got him removed.
the food there was somewhat good (it’s a hospital what can you expect), and if you didn’t like it you could request a box lunch (school field trip type food) and i’d say the whole time i was there i had a lot of people supporting me to actually work on my mental health, and i really feel like it helped lmao.
don’t let these reviews scare you.

Perhaps you are like me, desperately reading reviews at 2am in the emergency room. And everything feels awful, and nothing feels right, and you’re looking for that shred of hope that you’re making the right choice, and that your child is going to be safe.
Our experience with Marillac was overall positive. All of the staff were friendly to our daughter, the kids as well. Did she love being there? No. But was she safe, respected, and treated humanely? 100% yes.
We were able to call anytime between 8a-8p, and if we couldn’t talk to her right then, she was able to call back as soon as she was available. Visiting hours were limited, but good.
The staff communicated with us daily about her progress. The therapist she met with was friendly, insightful, and very good at her job. We were able to have family sessions, which was a huge benefit.
The campus was clean and up to date. There were lots of windows and natural light. During her stay my daughter didn’t have a room mate, which she was grateful for, but I say that because other hospitals we reviewed were overcrowded and had kids sleeping on the floor. This was not at all the case here.
The food was compared to school lunch. But she was never left to go hungry. And you are able to bring food/drink to your visitation.
Keep in mind, this isn’t meant to have resort levels of comfort. But the kids needs are met in terms of physical and mental.
While I hope we never have to return, I am grateful for the time she was there was positive overall.

The treatment available at this facility includes medication assisted recovery and addiction counseling. They accept walk-ins and also accept Medicaid for payment of services. Overcome Relapse in Overland U | Treatments Payment Options | This place has literally saved my life! I've been a patient for awhile and from the counselors, nurses, and rest of the staff have always treated me well while still holding me accountable. The head nurse always remembers me when I get my yearly checkup/physical, I am extremely needle-phobic and every year she makes sure to be there to draw blood for me because she does such a good job at it and she cares. I cant think of any other nurse who has ever done something like that for me, ever. BHG does make you work on rebuilding your life that was destroyed by addiction and the staff has helped me re-learn adult responsibilities and will hold you accountable but they care haven't ever given up on me. Once I was on my maintenance dose i started working full time, paying off all my debt and loans, becoming a normal person in society and even down to treating others with respect. I have worked on my treatment plan so far so good the last few years, my counselor always finds time for me and gives me alot of life skills and tools to better my recovery because addiction will always be with the person so he always has "life hacks" on not giving into the disease.
Anyway, I know everyone's experience will be different when being treated for addiction, but I kind of just gave in and started the recovery process 10+ years ago at BHG Overland Park. The location is nice and in a safe part of town, since there is hardly every a wait over 15 mins.

Threatening poor behavior to achieve a personal goal is a hallmark of this gentleman. I am replying anonymously because I have witnessed Mr. Koffman's choice to act aggressively towards staff when he doesn’t get his way and to purposefully disrupt otherwise peaceful meals to shout and yell at those he feels responsible for having upset him. I have no doubt that identifying myself by name could lead to me suffer the same indignity and harassment on future visits to my loved one. For context to his poorly worded review, a child of an employee made passage through a set of doors that require a numeric passcode to unlock and entered an employee’s only workspace. Mr. Koffman has become perpetually upset about this and has shouted horrible obscenities at this child. He has disrupted the lobby and dining room several times over the past few weeks and has not stopped sharing his displeasure that he is not permitted through those doors. In my opinion, the staff here deserve recognition for handling his behavior with as much grace as they do. What this individual perceives as community support from other residents is nothing more than their utter acquiescence to hopefully end his outbursts as quickly as possible. It’s a shame that there are not more mental health facilities available for such individuals, as I’m unsure this person has any general health needs requiring 12 years of residential healthcare living.

I've been contacted by one of the owners after a rough experience and felt like I was actually heard when I voiced my concerns. Mediators are fantastic, though the gentleman who did my substance assessment didn't seem to actually hear my answers and made a few alarming assumptions- this concern has been addressed and will be dealt with accordingly. I already recieve a lot of the services suggested through AAHH with another agency; however, I can say that the program I currently am attending is somewhat beneficial and I'm taking away a lot from it. It can be triggering, but thankfully, the mediators DO listen and empathize greatly without feeling like they are judging or critical. Yes, it can be a frustrating experience, but they do their best to rectify anything that can be corrected. Though you should always do your research before selecting who do complete programs, at least AAHH try to find a middle ground. Also, read through any and all fine print when sent to you, so you can catch any mistakes (as was the case of the assessment) because they will take the time to fix it.

Overland Park is the 40th most expensive city nationwide for addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $61626. This is higher than the average cost of $56618 for addiction treatment in Kansas and higher than the national average cost for drug rehab of $57,193.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Overland Park vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of medical detox, inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab, and medication assisted treatment. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below. There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Overland Park. Most rehab treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Overland Park that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here's the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment near Overland Park.

Overland Park has the 101st highest rate of drug use nationwide among nearly 400 cities surveyed. This number reflects the combined use of cocaine, heroin, meth, and marijuana, displayed individually below.
