I was there years ago. A great place to be when you want help with your addiction. But you have to want to be clean and or sober or it won't work no matter where you go. But this place is the best rehab I was ever at and I was at 6 different ones great food too. Home-cooked meals. I highly recommend this place.

In my opinion the best rehab in Pennsylvania. Very polite & honest staff who neither sugarcoat the truth -- does the opposite of helping --& does not judge the patients. All fair treatment & the patients rarely do not enjoy their time, seen many friendships develop & the staff are skilled in their field. It is in a very rural area so no Wifi but you can make landline phone calls. Expect many birds lol. All in all I recommend to anyone to grow & be inspired

Thank you Counsilor Bob & Counsilor Paige!! They were absolutely phenomenal with my loved one. My loved one has some concerning mental health diagnoses, but those two counsilors made their rehab stay the best possible. I truly have hope in their recovery this time. They have been to multiple rehabs previously and I have never seen them this good mentally (drug and mental health wise). Thank you so much!! I'll be honest, I have read some of the reviews and got really concerned prior to them coming, but I couldn't be more thankful for the counsilors they had throughout their stay.

The staff are compassionate, knowledgeable, respectful, non judgmental & easy to open up to. You’ll feel warmly welcomed even as you walk into the front door. My guard was definitely up when I began at the clinic. I’ve been there for several years & don’t know where my life would be without the clinic & staff members I’ve grown to know & trust. I highly recommend this facility no matter where you are in the hopes of long term recovery. Recovery is a lot of work but oh so worth its success! I give praise where praise is due & this clinic deserves it in so many ways!

I was inpatient for 5 days. All of the staff in my unit were helpful and kind. Not just with task but with the overall process and day to day procedures. Most of the staff I encountered have been working there for years; they know what they are doing and what they are dealing with. The food was actually good. They offer plenty of options and alternatives! They also accommodate to special diets i.e dairy free, vegetarian, religious etc.. The staff actually eats the food! Which to me, was a good sign! There were multiple issues during my stay that required room rearrangement/alternative placement due to safety concerns involving patients and/or staff; one involving myself. Arrangements were made quickly and solutions were implemented immediately to ensure patient and staff safety. I was pleased with how my situation was handled by staff and felt safe. There was an intern who lead some very informative groups!! The activities person was great. As a former head housekeeper for a Marriott hotel I was extremely pleased with the cleaning lady. She overheard me talking about the greasy hand printed windows and she cleaned them for us! We were watching the squirrels. It smelled clean when she was there. Cons- My unit Delta had a broken set of washer/dryer leaving only one function set of machines for 20+ adults. Most people only have 1 or two sets of clothing. They had very limited communal clothing so many people wore hospital gowns while their clothing was in laundry. Many patients complained about the shower water not being hot or taking up to 20 minutes to get warm… I ended up not showering the whole 5 days I was inpatient except at the sink because of this. My unit was only allowed markers and crayons to write with. The supply was pretty low when I got there. They had a locked box, which the patient advocate opened, I requested new markers and someone brought out new markers to the activity room the same day. Not sure if it was because of my note or if a staff member just noticed the marker supply was low but either way that’s great and was a quickly met request. They provide notebooks for patients and encourage journaling which helps pass the time. My biggest issue was the floors! Although they were cleaned everyday, they were dry mopped and then swifter wet jet type mopped. That works well to maintain an already clean floor but not as the main way of cleaning an already filthy floor. Shoes with laces are not allowed meaning almost everyone is walking around in socks, some people barefoot, on FILTHY FLOORS. Yuck. The floors were so sticky you could hear the techs walking from all the way down the hall. The floors are due for a proper mop or professional cleaning service which would include moving the tables and chairs in the dining room and activity room. When I brought the floors up to a nurse she stated that the floors are also bad in their back offices. Which I was actually glad to hear because that meant it wasn’t only being done that way in patient areas but overall on all the floors. The dining room smelled awful not from the food but from the floors. I was told the dining room was down 1 table. Each table sat 4 people. Meaning there wasn’t enough seating in the dining room for all the patients in the unit. I received a phone call while I was in, and a phone message got to me as well. Meaning my family who knew I was there was able to get through and talk to me. There is limited time allotted for calls but exceptions were allowed if needed. Overall I would recommend this facility. The food choices were good with plenty of options. All the staff were helpful and knew what they were doing. I was able to make and receive calls. I was already connected with a therapist, case worker and psychiatrist prior to my admission; staff arranged appointments with them before my discharge. If you don’t have those services they help you arrange them before your departure for success upon discharge. If you have someone to pick you up and don’t have to wait for transportation you get discharged quicker.

So far this place has gone above and beyond for my child. I only speak during visits but he calls his dad during the night. His therapist regularly calls me and updates me on his improvements. The staff is very nice. But when you take you child things the reception dont seem to give the kids there belonging. I hope he does eventually get the things we bring him and when he does ill post about it!! So I do not know why there are so many crappie reviews cause its been a week so far and they have been 100% the best i couldn't of asked for a better place for him!!! And they do separate boys and girls and the "house",I call them are done in age groups and what sex they are!

RISE Counseling is fantastic! New in town and coming from a place where most of the options for counseling are at the hospital which is cold and clinical or the nearby health department, pretty much the same, I really appreciate the atmosphere. The waiting room is so relaxing! I much prefer the small private setting to big clinics which can make you feel like you're being processed like cattle.

My time at St. Joes was nothing short of miraculous. I was broken, the guilt and shame has consumed me and my addiction left me feeling like I’d lost everything again. The staff at St. Joes literally nursed me back to health the first 2 days and then I was strong enough to go to group and take advantage of the many things St. Joes had to offer. I learned to share again, articulate my feelings and not just bottle everything up. The one-on-one time was my favorite. Their counselors are amazing people. They don’t get nearly the credit they deserve. I’m a believer in sharing to get free from stress and anxiety. These people did something incredible…….they listened! They didn’t rush in and try to “fix me”. They let me talk it out and figure out things on my own and add creative insight while challenging my thinking and problem solving. They also weren’t afraid to confront me. That’s lost in today’s world. The techs. That’s a whole other level. The techs were wonderful, shout out to Dave! I loved that dude. He shot from the hip and always gave it to ya straight, no chaser (forgive the play on words) I still keep in touch with him now. Truth be told I would highly recommend St. Joes to any and everyone struggling with mental health, addiction and/or alcoholism issues. God bless.

Very impressed and surprised because there are some bad reviews when every team member I meet was extremely caring and understanding of everyone's personal situations. They really care about you getting better and will help give you the tools and motivation to get there. I started in the intensive outpatient program which was important to my recovery in that it gave me a regular schedule and it felt good to get in that rhythm and everyone I meet in that class was respectful to each other we learned and had a good time. I recently moved out onto the regular outpatient and continue to meet new people who all share the same difficulties in life and openly share their stories and perspectives to identify our triggers and in my case: bad life traps and bad coping styles that lead to my addiction. We also are taught how to avoid the pit falls of addiction the through healthy coping mechanisms. They also started a new incentive program that awards healthy recovery based activities. Because of this program and the programs they provided me with outside of Guardenzia I was able to change my mindset and come to a place where I can finally admit to myself of my past addiction and admit to myself I cannot ever drink again and I'm grateful to them for getting me to this place where I can finally accept that.

Amazing!!! Helpful and caring!!! There’s nothing bad here nothing!! I can’t tell you how wonderful it is and refreshing!!! I have been on methadone 4 years and had to relocate back to central Pa and when I made arrangements with my old clinic at ARS, they tried to literally kill me!!! When I moved my entire life and had it all switched so I thought until!!! I get there and then they say oh your insurance is for another county do until you switch it we cannot help you!!! And left me sitting in the room alone!! Just not even care or bothering with me!!! They make ppl want to relapse why bother when you don’t care this much but I rememenrr beinf told Mechanicsburg ctc does same day so w only 32 mins left I rushed over to here and the world of diff of care, wanting to help!!! Willing to work with you as anyone knows even if you have no insurance the state of pa will pay up to 90 days back bills so they got all my paperwork and my dosing That day and let me dose and set me up!!! I cannot tell you how as I say defeated in the other clinic defeated crying hysterically I saw my entire sobriety flash and about to be gone before my eyes!! I went from homeless, destitute, a person no one saw as worthy to a career in retail management, built myself to a respectable person agian that also helps others in recovery with at least that first step and now use my career to help give a job to those otherowise others look over!! So thank you sooooo much Mechanicsburg CTC because of you!!! You helped this one persons world stay so much brighter!!! Thank you!!! I love reading negative comments about rehabs. Two things all addicts/alcoholics need to do: Take direction and be grateful one day at a time.

Was there for 4 months in 2019. That staff were great. Had a great therapist and my case worker was amazing. Had 2 relapses since I left but pyramid was my cornerstone to my recovery. Just celebrated 20months and imforever grateful.

I attended this facility and was very appreciative of the love and care I received. Was it all good no but that was of my own doings. I want to give a special nurse named Karen the most love of all. This lady is absolutely amazing, loving, caring soul. If anyone is ever blessed enough to be in her presence the they will understand she truly is a gift to be around. I say thanks to all the staff and volunteers for the assistance I received.
