After dealing with a few different MAT doctors in the area, I was beyond blessed to find State College Medical. Everyone I have dealt with in this office goes above and beyond to make sure the clients are taken care of, and well. They are kind, compassionate, and just good at their jobs. Highly recommend!

The staff are compassionate, knowledgeable, respectful, non judgmental & easy to open up to. You’ll feel warmly welcomed even as you walk into the front door. My guard was definitely up when I began at the clinic. I’ve been there for several years & don’t know where my life would be without the clinic & staff members I’ve grown to know & trust. I highly recommend this facility no matter where you are in the hopes of long term recovery. Recovery is a lot of work but oh so worth its success! I give praise where praise is due & this clinic deserves it in so many ways!

I love the staff! They put their lives on the line to make sure they are open for us. They are so dedicated and kind. The dosing nurse's are very patient and definitely put up with so much from some of the people who should be just thankful for the opportunity to be here. I'm so grateful for them and I'll always recommend that people who are looking for a new start in life and a way out of their addiction. You Should come here! Just know your treatment is your responsibility and depends on your attitude and strength to get yourself clean again. This will not work unless you do the work

I took this location for granted. Ever since I've moved away from the area, the experience has been awful compared to the State College VA. From the services provided at the location to the staff, it really is a VA location that stands above the rest! My only complaint would be that it needs more parking! Missing this VA every day!

Everything was handled smoothly without feeling rigid or mechanical. There was structure, but also flexibility when needed. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. This approach aligns well with international healthcare delivery models-happy to connect if you’d like to explore this further.

I didn’t know for sure if counseling would help me. I figured my issues were so small it wouldn’t make a difference . But I’ve seen myself become a better, more stable, more self compassionate , more confident person thanks to my time at Rise counseling. I’ve been blessed. RISE Counseling is fantastic! New in town and coming from a place where most of the options for counseling are at the hospital which is cold and clinical or the nearby health department, pretty much the same, I really appreciate the atmosphere. The waiting room is so relaxing! I much prefer the small private setting to big clinics which can make you feel like you're being processed like cattle.

The St. Joseph Institute in Port Matilda, Pennsylvania takes a holistic and spiritual approach to caring for those with addiction, mental health, and dual diagnosis conditions. Spiritual motivation is the centric philosophy of treatment for adults ages 18 to 65. They have residential programs for veterans and for those struggling with chronic pain.
Hands down the best treatment facility I've ever completed. If you're expecting perfection, you're wasting your time because it doesn't exist in this world. However, if you're looking for dedicated staff as well as amazing community there is placed in an amazing rural environment. Every facility has its issues, so I'm sure you will find whatever you're looking for here. My experience here was top tier, as I stated, the staff is very respectable and dedicated to their jobs. The community can sway As is life. WE DO RECOVER..!!!

I'm from NYS and have been to several rehabs in PA . By far St. Joe's is the best. Offering a holistic approach to recovery with physical therapy , sound bath , swimming, tia chi and so much more. The clinical , RA, and nursing staff are all amazing, person centered and caring! They have a well put together humongous facility for freetime activities as well. Then after completion, its not over. They contact you with follow-up and if willing connect you with the best Alumni program and peer ran staff Melissa. Who could ask for anything more from rehab!!!

The disease of alcoholism took ahold, I was lost. I wanted to suppress my feelings of helplessness, grief, and pain. Lucky for me, a friend suggested Saint Joseph institute as an option. I came into Saint Joe’s scared, with shame and regret, and no vision for a future. I was ready to die and give into the disease to release the pain. Alcohol had a control over me and used every situation in my life to draw me closer to the end. I walked into Saint Joe’s lost but left a better version of myself. The Saint Joseph inpatient and online itensive outpatient program, Alumni system, and introduction of recovery groups have provided me with a path creating the best version of myself. Thanks to RAs, counselors, community, maintenance, cooks, and more; I learned how to reframe situations in my life and deal with emotions instead of running from them. I still feel regret, but no shame or fear, and I know I have a future. I developed tools, created supports, and most importantly reconnected with God! Lauren is a great counselor, and guided me during one on one and small group sessions. Lauren helped tremendously, but she was not the only one who provided crucial supports. Val and her morning waking up with a higher power and personal conversations, Angela with her personal chats and guidance contributed to my process. Along with all counselors who rotated in large group sessions. The people at Saint Joe’s don’t only care about people on their caseloads, but for all who truly seek help from a personalized program of recovery. The food was good, sleeping arrangement are fine, and other facilities are good. Are there frustrations, yes? Do things go wrong at times, yes? Do plans change at times, yes? But such is life that we are learning to deal with daily. If you are serious about recovery, the people you will have on your side here are the most important thing! They will help guide you to live a better life and deal with life on life’s terms. If you are honest and committed to the process, they can all help guide you from your darkest moments into a life of light! Thank you: Lauren (counselor), Mike (RA), Dave (RA), Val (counselor), Jade (RA), Angela (counselor), Dave (grounds), Bri (RA), Megan(counselor), Mike (IOP), Steph (IOP), and Melissa (alumni coordinator), and so many more. I am sorry if I didn’t remember everyone’s name, but from kitchen staff, RAs, counselors, they were willing to talk and support my progress. You are all a part of my heart and have been since I left as community leader. I continue to pass it forward to others. I still remember telling Lauren that this journal writing was not going to be for me. I have now written over 80 poems to help me in my personal recovery from this disease. I hope this one helps one of you: Life’s Tree My roots may be dirty under the ground. But it provides for the tree where fruit is now found. I will not let it rot and wither away. Sharing it with others tomorrow or today. The tree has purpose a determined intent. I will not be discouraged or let anything circumvent. The fruit I share can provide nourishment needed. My life has direction and is not yet completed. Using this dirt for its intention and design. The growth of my tree and providing vision to the blind. Only through him can I ultimately be found. Only by his unfailing grace am I unbound. Perfection not obtainable but progress is you see. This the story of my life’s glorious recovery tree. Using honesty, tools, supports, prayers, and the surrendering of me. This is how God, Saint Joe’s, and community have made me free.

My child was sent here in crisis. While sitting in crisis center a family told us how horrible it was and bot to send our daughter there. Leaving my child was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life, HOWEVER I will never say a bad thing about the meadows. They helped my daughter more than I could have ever imagined. She was able to call us every single night, and the communication between myself and her case manager Whitney was nothing any of amazing. Whitney made sure I knew every single detail about her every day, made sure I was updated on things going on with her. The only thing I could say could improve a bit would be being able to reach someone on the unit. Myself and several fanily members tried to get in contact with the unit for updates on her and never received a call back in the 6 days she was there. Other than that I do not have a single complaint.

The methadone program cost roughly $125 per week. However they will work with cash paying patients that need some type of payment arrangement. Far too many people freely moving around there. It’s a rehab and a partial hospitalization program which means people with severe psychological problems are roaming around . The staff are aware of who the threats are, but the patient does not. Your head always needs to be on a swivel. In my opinion it was more threatening than a holding center or jail. Couldn’t have a pair of nail clippers for safety concerns, but here’s a metal horseshoe in the horseshoe pit. I will say this, the best counselor I’ve ever had was from here, Joe.

I am sober 9.5 years because of cove forge. I had previously been to Guadenzia 3 times, both Pyramids, Gateway, multiple psychiatric hospitalizations... It feels like yesterday I was at the cove... The location and programming of cove was unlike any other. I felt supported, not medicated. I felt empowered with opportunities to understand my body and psyche. I was educated and exposed to so many helpful tools I still carry with me today. From journaling, to exercise, to nature, to meditation, to spiritual studies (Christianity), to psychology and attachment/trauma theories. I was a lost cause. I was arrested 29 times over 10 years. Had been incarcerated more times than I could count including SCI Muncy. I will never forget what your staff showed, did and helped me with. I don't know just one thing that changed things for me... I just know it was the program as a whole and the opportunities and education given that helped me find my courage to change. To gain self reflection, self discipline, self control, and self empowerment. Thank you cove forge staff for saving my life... I now have a college degree, working in nursing, have my own home (owned) on 6 beautiful country acres, two vehicles of my own, my children all back in my custody and home, and I don't take a second for granted. You found the light in me and brought it to the surface. You supported me when everyone else said I'd need medication the rest of my life to function normally. I feel proud to report, the Cove empowered me and kept a boundary to let me "try" without medication... and I am 9.5 years sober without any psych meds or MAT. You empowered me to find out who I really was as a person... My only sadness... Is that I had found the cove sooner... Maybe I could've spared my family and my children some of the pain. But we can't change the past and I do believe we are all so much stronger for it. From my heart to all of yours... I'm all in and always will be for Cove Forge.
