I was there years ago. A great place to be when you want help with your addiction. But you have to want to be clean and or sober or it won't work no matter where you go. But this place is the best rehab I was ever at and I was at 6 different ones great food too. Home-cooked meals. I highly recommend this place.

when I was there, it was my first psych ward (still was) I miss the people there. Bc they were and still are considered my friends even tho we lost touch. It’s crazy to think how artificial everything is. but also how real the connections were. We were all kids. teenagers. But the small little community i was apart of in my unit helped me. It’s sad not everyone can get that. I really do miss my friends. I hope they got out like i did and are safe. Though it definitely isn’t all the same for everyone. It did help me. And sometimes taking a step, is all the help me need.

Our grandson was admitted to the center & it was the best thing that could have ever happened!! Everyone was wonderful who worked there!! The ONLY complaint I have is the phone system calling in to speak with a patient. I was not able to get connected any time I called BUT my grandson was able to call at certain times so I was able to talk with him!! I hope he never needs to go back but if he does this is the place I would want him!! They handled everything perfectly & really took care of his needs!! KUDOS TO THE MEADOWS!!! SJI was by far THE best experience for me and my recovery. I wish I had known about them years ago. Top notch facility with compassionate, educated and all around amazing staff. From the kitchen to housekeeping & maintenance to nursing, RAs and counselors/clinical staff...they were ALL so supportive and kind. I never felt like I was treated "less than" like some other places do. The facility is absolutely beautiful even in the winter lol highly recommend SJI to anyone looking to start their recovery journey!!! They also offer an alumni app & weekly Zoom meeting, which I don't think I've missed since being home🤗Melissa who runs this group goes above and beyond to be there for any and every one she meets. Probably juggles thousands of recovering clients and does it with grace & love🥰Crazy to say but I kinda miss SJI. They'll always have a special place in my heart🫶🏼 ❤️Reisa *Forever an SJI family member*

So Blessed to have found St. Joseph’s! Saved my Life! As a mature 50 something grandma, I would never have believed that I would get so sucked into addiction that I could give up everything for one thing! But Nothing Shy of a Miracle would make me quit.God heard my plea for Help and St Joseph’s delivered! 3 weeks into my rehab I had a heart attack, I would probably be dead had I been outside of St Joseph’s using like I was, and after a quick procedure I was back to finish my rehab 48 hours later. My stay extended beyond 60 days, and sure there were days I felt trapped inside this village, but I needed precisely there to be rules, stability, structure. Quitting One thing for Every Thing would not be my New Reality had it not been for St. Joseph’s!

Very impressed and surprised because there are some bad reviews when every team member I meet was extremely caring and understanding of everyone's personal situations. They really care about you getting better and will help give you the tools and motivation to get there. I started in the intensive outpatient program which was important to my recovery in that it gave me a regular schedule and it felt good to get in that rhythm and everyone I meet in that class was respectful to each other we learned and had a good time. I recently moved out onto the regular outpatient and continue to meet new people who all share the same difficulties in life and openly share their stories and perspectives to identify our triggers and in my case: bad life traps and bad coping styles that lead to my addiction. We also are taught how to avoid the pit falls of addiction the through healthy coping mechanisms. They also started a new incentive program that awards healthy recovery based activities. Because of this program and the programs they provided me with outside of Guardenzia I was able to change my mindset and come to a place where I can finally admit to myself of my past addiction and admit to myself I cannot ever drink again and I'm grateful to them for getting me to this place where I can finally accept that.

Ok. So let’s just say I’m a very neutral person so my review will ONLY be about my recovery and not my exper With my stay there because what everyone needs to understand is that mental illness is the root of all addict behavior. So compassion is very important to me anyways. The staff was very polite. My first night was great they listened and they heard me and they helped me immensely so thank you to the nurse staff in detox you ladies are awesome. And thank you for not co-signing my nonsense even though I never gave you the opportunity to put me in my place because I already knew what I needed to do and why I came there in the first place. I want to acknowledge my counselor Asia My goodness girly your job is tough so I understand why you are the way you are. You helped me so much and I’m upset that I never got to vocally express my gratitude towards you because of the fast pace in that place my thoughts were scattered. So I want to tell you THANK you for getting me out of there on time. I was not looking for problems I just wanted peace and do some self healing with my grief of losing my mother and family members in the last 4 years. I couldn’t open up to you in such a short period of time knowing I was leaving soon. I would have loved to continue an outpatient treatment plan with you but because of location and the fact you guys do not offer that I pushed back a lot. I was trying to leave so I can make sure home was safe. So thank you all including Mrs. Donna the director in that place. It was a mutual respect and no word’s needed to be said for it to be the way that it was. Thank you I see you ladies. Mrs. Linda Mam you have to fix your vision because baby it’s not ok for anyone to be hit with a bean bag and not react. You came in late and if it wasn’t for me yelling it would have been worse. You should take more classes. I was in detox with a girl and I was there and saw who was around when she got robbed. But that’s over with and we all left incomplete but that’s ok with me but not sure if the thieves were mandated if so karma is ruthless when it comes to honesty and sincerity. One came in sober and left a fiend. Ijs. It’s the honest truth. It had NOTHING to do with staff or nurses she chose that life. Now she has to deal with it. Now as for me I can only say this in light of what happened I was denied my night meds and had 0 hours of sleep so when I stayed up until I got home guess what happened I was 3 days sober sober I came home to use my personal suboxone strips. I may microdose but I cried when I truly didn’t want to take it. And it’s all because I never got my night time meds. 🥹 I was punished for no good reason. So I have to start over unfortunately. But like I said before it has NOTHING to do with the treatment itself it’s what’s done if they believe you stepped out of line. It defeated my purpose and those 3 days sober were completely gone. It broke me when I placed that strip under my tongue. But I know that Jesus will help me when it’s time because I’ve done it before on my own. So if you are thinking about going there for treatment and are willing to take your recovery seriously this place is for you.

Amazing!!! Helpful and caring!!! There’s nothing bad here nothing!! I can’t tell you how wonderful it is and refreshing!!! I have been on methadone 4 years and had to relocate back to central Pa and when I made arrangements with my old clinic at ARS, they tried to literally kill me!!! When I moved my entire life and had it all switched so I thought until!!! I get there and then they say oh your insurance is for another county do until you switch it we cannot help you!!! And left me sitting in the room alone!! Just not even care or bothering with me!!! They make ppl want to relapse why bother when you don’t care this much but I rememenrr beinf told Mechanicsburg ctc does same day so w only 32 mins left I rushed over to here and the world of diff of care, wanting to help!!! Willing to work with you as anyone knows even if you have no insurance the state of pa will pay up to 90 days back bills so they got all my paperwork and my dosing That day and let me dose and set me up!!! I cannot tell you how as I say defeated in the other clinic defeated crying hysterically I saw my entire sobriety flash and about to be gone before my eyes!! I went from homeless, destitute, a person no one saw as worthy to a career in retail management, built myself to a respectable person agian that also helps others in recovery with at least that first step and now use my career to help give a job to those otherowise others look over!! So thank you sooooo much Mechanicsburg CTC because of you!!! You helped this one persons world stay so much brighter!!! Thank you!!! If you need help in anyway please do yourself the biggest favor and just start here!!! Good luck!!! #wedorecover

Bold Steps BH has been absolutely wonderful since my husband left another inpatient rehab. They left us tour and meet everyone. Explained what a ‘normal’ every day would look like. They don’t sugar coat anything and if you come there- they do NOT treat you like a prisoner and hold you accountable- per my husband who is the patient. The experience from Bold Steps vs the last place is night & day different. Thank you Bold Steps for taking such good care of my husband and holding him accountable and teaching him new healthier habits! Best of luck in finding a rehab that will aid you in your recovery. It will only work if you are serious about sobriety and learning new habits & ways to stay sober. It’s important to research rehabs and see what is the best fit for you. Go to meetings, talk to others, reach out…. Wishing you well for a happy, healthy new beginning. Recovery isn’t easy by any means but it’s FOREVER worth it! ❤️🙂

I'm a retired 20 year Army veteran, there are many who can attest to my moral ethics, honesty and character, including numereous Generals active and retired and the current Secretary of Defense. Penn State Emergency room was outstanding, I did not have to wait. The several ER doctors that attended me kept me well informed and were professional, they were all excellent Doctors. I was informed they wanted to check me in as a patient to confirm if my issue was heart related or muscular and nerve. I was in agreement. I was an inpatient from 30 July until 1 August. On the floor the staff and doctors were professional and caring. The two Neurosurgeons I saw on my last day were excellent. They gave me a lot of info concerning my condition and a way forward to manage my pain or eliminate it. I highly reccomend a pay raise to keep those 2 excellent neurosurgeon doctors. I almost gave 5 stars. Now on toward what I did not like, they kept me woke throughout the night until morning taking blood and my blood pressure approximately every 3 to 4 hours. One night they took my blood pressure at 12 PM than the young man came into the room at 4 AM and hollered loudly to wake up! It's time to take your blood pressure! Keep in mind I was hooked to a heart monitor. The severe lack of sleep from them waking me every 3 to 4 hours, the medication, hospital enviroment and the pain from my issue kept my blood pressure very high, restful sleep is important to a lower blood pressure reading. Now at home my pressure is way below 130. The second issue is Dr.S who was the floor doctor informed me that he would put in writing that I was in pain and It could affect me not being able to work on some days but instead he wrote no restrictions,I believe he felt due to my job being a desk job it wasn't required, I complained so he changed it to I may need frequent breaks for 1 week due to pain. My supervisor had already approved me to work from home for a longer period because he knows I would not not lie about my pain and how the numerous medications would affect my alertness. I just wanted to see if Dr. S was a man of his word and if he sterotyped me. In addition some members of the staff including Dr.S was under the impression that I could not leave the hospital under my own free will. Federal and State law states no hospital can illegally forcibly hold any patient unless they are mentally incapicitated or physically unable to walk with some other exceptions that would not apply to me or most independent patients, a patient that want to leave immediately would receive an AMA discharge, even though I was discharged I stayed to get xrays done and planned to leave from there, the patient transport that took me to get my xrays told me that I could not leave from the radiology department even though I had my discharge papers and if I did security would forcibly take me down and bring me back. He claimed it happened numerous times in the past. He stated it was the hospital policy. He had refused to take me in a wheel chair but instead insisted on rolling me in a bed that was used many times without changing the sheets plus I was able to walk and prefered the wheel chair that was available. His comment gave me the impression I was being forcibly detained against my will as if I was a criminal. It was if I was not paying them for professional medical service. If there was an attempt to forcibly keep me by security especially with my muscular disc issue and pain than I would have levied criminal charges and sought out the best lawyers which I can afford for a major lawsuit against the hospital and I would have contacted the Senator and VA Affairs at the congressional level for mistreatment of a retired honorably served veteran. I almost gave 3 stars because of this but the ER doctors, most of the staff and the 2 Neurosurgeons were of excellent caliber. Holy Spirit need to retrain the staff on patient release in accordance with the law or change their policy before some of their staff have criminal charges levied against them and they receive a huge lawsuit.

This place changed my life from the inside out, yes it was hard, but it was exactly what I needed to internally transform through Jesus Christ and many men and women in Christ from this facility that helped push me to find my own life. And now that I have had this experience from New Life for girls I have completely turned my life around, I was a drug addict for 3 years almost lost my children to my parents and now I am a life coach I work full-time I am getting my own home and my own new car and I am thriving in the Lord and it is all 100% due to this experience at this facility. I suggest anyone who has any life-altering ailment call New Life today and go there because it will change your life. You have to be willing to do the work, but if you are willing to make a change and show up for yourself, Jesus will show up for you through these people and this facility. I promise you won't regret your decision to go here. Jesus is lord!
